  • The Mavic Air by DJI shoots amazing video. In this video I'll explain one of the Intelligent Flight Modes called 'Point of Interest'. The 'Point of Interest' intelligent flight mode allows you to
    take amazing video that will really amaze you and blow the minds of your audience watching your videos. It short, it allows you to circle or fly your drone around an object or point of interest that you've defined. This includes being able to control the; Radius, Speed, and direction of your aircraft. This is the type of shot that would be extremely difficult to perform manually. Watch the video as I think you'll really be surprised at what this mode can do to improve your footage. Enjoy!

    Great info, one suggestion, your intro footage is about 45 seconds too long. That footage is great for the ending. I ended up fast forwarding because it we pretty much all the same after the first 15 seconds.

      Agree, this was one of my earlier videos and looking back on it your correct. This should have been a much shorter intro to the video. Takes time to learn these things and only learn by doing.

    Great instructional video, thanks a lot! I spent a lot of time trying to launch this feature, but i couldn't understand the user interface of the app. Now I know how to do it! In some places the user interface of the app DJI Fly 4 really sucks.

      Thank you....I think this feature has a lot of potential. I still need some more practice. The editing comes into play too with some of what I'm doing. Really playing around with the 'Speed-Ramping' within Adobe Premiere Pro as well. I think it's a really cool effect.

    Hi. Greetings from Chile. Thanks for the video. I haven't yet used this mode, but I have a doubt with sticks effects, when you move them right or left. I understand the effect of the stick that controls the aircraft in clockwise or anti clockwise ways (the drone will circle the object towards its right or its left. But what happens when you move the other stick ("turn right/turn left")? I imagine that this stick allows you to center the POI in the middle of the screen if, because of any reason, it lost the center. Please answer me. Thanks.

    In POI mode do I have to start recording manually first before goin into poi or will it record when I hit apply? Thanks in advance.......... I'm totally new to drones!

      I'll be honest...I haven't flow the Mavic Air in a while. Been mainly flying my FPV drones. You'll know when it's recording though...but RECORD BUTTON will show when it's recording or not. Not sure if that helps...

    considering the short battery life span of the mavic air wouldn't it be better to use active track in circle mode to get this type of shot? wouldnt it elevate the cumbersome task setting the height and radius prior to getting the shot(setting the point of interest manually) therefore reducing battery usage?

  • @craigdixon7881
    @craigdixon7881 6 лет назад

    If you had the spark which I do would you sell it to get the mavic Air or is it not worth it as I really do love my sparky now I have figured out 2.4ghz gives you way better range and reception

    • @RGMGFitness
      @RGMGFitness  6 лет назад

      Honestly, I hear a lot of guys sold their spark for the Mavic Air. I just think it's still worth keeping and flying. I have two boys (teenagers) and I still want to teach my wife to fly. I just don't want them to learn on my more expensive Mavic Air. I guess it depends on your budget...if you can't afford to keep both....we'll, you'll love the Mavic Air. Everything the SPARK has and so much more.

  • @howardworf6760
    @howardworf6760 4 года назад

    After apply and start I get no video. How do you get it to record? The video button is greyed out in this mode. Later: it is necessary to 'hide ' the POI screen to be able to access the record button. I haven't tried using the dedicated button on the controller yet, but I am hopeful that would work too.

  • @irwinpang5883
    @irwinpang5883 6 лет назад

    I was lost but now I understand it.
    The bad thing though is I think you only are expect to record once you set everything and if you were in recording already then the parts when you are setting needs to be cut or edited off.
    I have learned how to manually pan a circle shot on both directions using cinematic mode and could be better. But this might be handy for a football stadium which I have not tried.

    • @RGMGFitness
      @RGMGFitness  5 лет назад

      Yeah, a football stadium sounds like it would be cool. But to actually circle the entire stadium you would probably run out of battery. Takes quite a while to circle an entire stadium. I've seen it done but not with the Mavic Air. It would require something a little more professional with longer flight times. Give it a try though.....

  • @ViliBlackSea

    how do you apply the black stripe up and down ?

    • @RGMGFitness
      @RGMGFitness  5 лет назад +1

      Actually, a very simple effect within Adobe Premiere Pro. You can add a simple 'Adjustment Layer' on top of the video clip. Under EFFECTS you want an option called 'CROP' and the TOP value = 10 and the BOTTOM value = 10. Do a quick search in RUclips and you'll find a bunch of tutorials. Takes only a few seconds to add.

    Thanks for the Awesome Video!! I always shoot in 4K 30fps in manual and i'm having trouble figuring out how to shoot in these modes in 4K 30fps. The modes want to default to 1080 x 1920 at which point I can't revert to 4K 30fps. Is there a process for switching? Thanks again for the awesome video and can't wait to get out to try it. Ray 👍😊

    • @RGMGFitness
      @RGMGFitness  6 лет назад

      I'll be honest, I haven't tried this 'Point-of-Interest' shot in 4K (30fps) so not sure if they're is an issue or not. I do shoot in manual mode and typically adjust everything in the camera settings before going into POI Mode. I could be a bug, I know DJI is still having issues that have not been resolved with the newest firmware they released for the Mavic Air back in May 02, 2018 (Aircraft Firmware: v01.00.0400). In turn, I never downloaded this firmware version. I'm still running an older version of firmware which works well.

    • @rapaent
      @rapaent 6 лет назад

      Thanks for the reply......... I just received my MA about three weeks ago. I did not download the latest firmware either. I downloaded the previous one to the current one. Waiting for the bugs to be worked out as well plus, to my understanding once downloaded you can't go to the previous version. I'm hoping that DJI comes out with a "set it and forget it" in regards to formats. There's a lot of mixed answers in regards to being able to use 4K 30fps in the Intelligent/QuickShot modes. I have seen several QuickShot video's showing 4k 30fps in the main window at the top. I can't get there, all I get is 1080 x 1920 which defaults to this every time. There must be some kind of process/step that I'm missing. If you your able to accomplish 4K in these modes, please let me know? I sincerely appreciate your video's, they have helped me immensely as a newbie. Thank you & Happy Flying. Ray 😊👍

    I wish the M Air had the same software as mavic pro2 when it comes to point of interest. Hopefully a new firmwate update on mavic air will fix that becouse it suckes on mavic air.
