      I'm hoping to do a complete reread soon; perhaps I'll come to enjoy The Vampire Armand more the second time around.

    I've read 4 of them so far in the span of 25 years. My favorite so far is Tale of the Body Thief. I just recently read it again and loved it. Hopefully one say I can produce it into a feature film. Love Anne Rice

      Did you read the first 4? If so, I hate to say it, but they do go somewhat downhill from there. But I still recommend them if you enjoyed the first 4.

    Another thing I enjoy are the references to high and classic culture. It's always fun to go away and look them up.

      Yes!! I'm starting a reread soon; hopefully I'll catch more of these references now that I have been an English teacher and a librarian for years... the first time I read the series, I was a teenager! Lol.

    The Armand slander 💀 i haven’t read all the books, so possibly I’m missing some parts of Armand’s story- but I personally LOVE him! He’s not as compelling as some of the other characters, but I find him one of the most interesting aesthetics-wise and history-wise

    Very good video, my grandmother bought me the first 3 books in the vampire Chronicles this past Christmas 2022, I'm going to read them in 2023, right after I finish up the last 2 books in the dune saga, I have watched the movie interview with the vampire and was blown away it's my favorite vampire movie of all time a couple of my friends have said that lestat in the books is so much better than lestat in the movie I'm very excited to start this series I gave this video a like and subscribed keep up the great work.

      That's awesome! In my opinion, the movie so closely follows the book that it's hard to say that one is better than the other. It's a very faithful adaptation!

    I saw the film film when I was 12 years old and thought wow! What an absolute amazing take on the vampire legend before I found vampires to be boring yeah they villains and must be killed with a stake in the heart bla bla until I saw this film on tv which I recorded on vhs but sadly lost my copy so I recorded it again when I was 15 and became obsessed with it to point as to wear the tape worn out and bought the dvd and was a little disappointed with the lack of special features with the exception of the commentary by the director and the books became a highly sought after thing but unfortunately I was 18 by the time I got them all and read them at least 4 times until I was in my 20s and nearly had a hype breakdown when I found out Prince Lestat had come out and loved it my favourites are the first 4 books and Blood and Gold The Vampire Marius which I read more often, the same as The Vampire Lestat when I was in hospital in 2019 basically read the whole book while I was high on morphine lmao but it was actually better to get into I never wanted Magnus to die and I remember asking Anne Rice on her fb page while I was reading Merrick saying there is so much amazing source material in these magnificent books and why only Interview and the sad sequel was only ever adapted in 2013 and she said yes there are major film producers in Hollywood trying to get it in the works unfortunately I couldn't reply because I destroyed my account after finding out I'd been cheated on, so I only saw her message in my Hotmail account and regret hit so hard by then there was no bringing back my old profile so that was that but I was so thrilled to hear that she had released Another Vampire chronicles novel about Lestat he's the most cheerful and most charismatic character in series and Marius's own back story of course him being one of my favourite Vampires, aged 31 and balding my black hair gone thin since I last read all of them in sequence but it's like being 18 again reading Interview now like you said you can see Anne's amazing influences on the film which I know every word of, but it's still a classic, the vampire chronicles have had such an amazing impact on my life RIP Anne Rice and thank you so much for your amazing literature and impact on me I only wish I could have met you ❤

      It's hard to say... I really loved book 3 of the new books (Blood Communion), but I didn't care for Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis. Prince Lestat was somewhere in the middle for me. I still recommend reading them though! It was also a different scenario for me. I had to wait so many years to get Prince Lestat that it made so exciting to have a new book out! Without that hype now, I'm not sure I would have loved it as much.

    Halfway through the 1st book and really enjoy the atmosphere and philosophy in it, but honestly don't get the love for lestate, hes a great device for creating tention but outside that i find him kind of boring is this common and peoples view of him change as he becomes the main focus or is he still more or less the same but more fleshed out n written more sympathetic?

Witching hour I also loved - I might re-read it.

    • @manuscriptsmusickandmore7901
      @manuscriptsmusickandmore7901  Год назад +1

      I think you could. The only time it might help to read Mayfair Witch series first would be when you get to book 10, Blood Canticle. Rowan Mayfair is a main character in that book, and her story might not make sense if you haven't read the other series. Other than that one, it would be fine. Good luck!

      Actually, yes. I've never thought about it before, but I suppose you could. You would have the basic knowledge about Lestat and the history of vampires, so it could work. You would just be a bit confused about what happened to David (his story arc happens in book 4). Good luck! :)
