Thank you for this video. I’m a woman and don’t have a man that I can get to help with minor repairs so I’m learning to do for my self. This video was helpful to me.
I just did one today I had to wrap a bit of electrical tape on socket for finger grip and used one finger on each hand and was able to turn the socket and get that hidden screw out, still a pain in the but and missing some skin😂
So the Blend door thing you just showed, is that for the hot and cold control of the front heater? I have a situation where my suburban does not have heat. The front control is like stuck on cold.
Very good video my guy, best one I’ve seen so far, my question is what’s the part number to the actuator, i have a 1995 chevy Silverado 1/2 Ton V8 C 1500, Ext Cab, I’m told there are 3 then I’m told there are four, so my parts guy tells me i need the part number to the one i need, ughhhhhhh😮 Kev…
To get the 7/32 nut that's hard to get to I drilled a hole between the lighter and glove box straight threw plastic and metal plate straight to the nut easy peasy
Working on one thinking it might be bad where it rotates it has a mark on it and on the actuator it has 3 marks the actuator that’s on it now only goes half way is it go from side to side? Thanks
Yes, it would. I would check the blower and blower resistor first. Then the other actuator under the driver side. Then maybe the climate control module that you switch every thing with
Mines only blowing through the windshield defrost. It maybe seem silly but it irritates me. I'm also replacing the blower motor resistor so I have full range of fan control not just full power. It's a small thing but I want my truck running as good as it was brand new if not better
Yeah, wish I would have made a better video. This will fix that issue. Sometimes they're slipping. Sometimes they're jammed shut. Make sure the blend door moves before putting in the new one. Get a cheap part on Amazon or rock auto
That's not the blend door actuator, it's above & to the right of the gas pedal doorman part number 604-107 That is the temperature actuator, which is why it's stuck on heat! The fresh air actuator, is by the passenger kick panel against the firewall Murray part number DA 1055, Dorman part # is 604-116. You have to search your ass off to find the part numbers because everyone refers to every damn one of them as a blend door actuator. Fuckin come on man!
This by far, is the best video I’ve seen on here 🙌 thank you so much! I tried looking into this a year ago and some guy had his whole top dash apart 😂

Thanks, saved me $350 doing it myself, now have ice cold AC !
Just froze your vid, and got the part number right off the module itself, good looking out brotha….😊
Glad it helped
Good stuff. Thanks. I have a 99 Chevy Express. Same issue. My reinstall went okay but I have to redo. The door itself was out of position.

Man, it was tough. I almost took a Sawzall to the metal...

Yes. This one is hot/cold
i have a 96 gmc suburban k1500 that needs a heater box door and actuator replaced. is the piece you replaced all i need to replace for mine?

Kev…
There are actually 2. I believe they are the same part tbh
Thanks for the video helped out a lot👍
Thanks for the tutorial
hey there my truck is 1995 c1500 is blowing only on the floor is the same door actuator?
I'd say that's the other actuator on the driver's side. Lean down in floor board and look under dash. You'll see it
To get the 7/32 nut that's hard to get to I drilled a hole between the lighter and glove box straight threw plastic and metal plate straight to the nut easy peasy
damn! that is an idea!! I may try it
Working on one thinking it might be bad where it rotates it has a mark on it and on the actuator it has 3 marks the actuator that’s on it now only goes half way is it go from side to side? Thanks
Hmm, I'm not sure. Maybe the wrong actuator on it from the last guy?
There’s a similar looking one under the steering Column. So what’s difference between the both ? Looks like it’s the same part and all.
Same part. That one does the different vents.
The one under the steering column is the Mode Actuator; it controls where the air blown to..
Would this work on a 95 Chevy 5.7 c1500? My heater is out and so is my ac. Hoping this be my problem cause I need that heater 🥲

@@BradfordDIY Thank you so much I will indeed!

Hi, I found that the white clip that goes into the actuator is broken, do you know how to replace this or how to find the part?
I'd check rock auto or do some googling. May have to buy a new blend door
Why does my ac blow cold wan parked but blows warm air on passenger side wan l drive it
Check the actuators. This one and the other on drivers side before doing anything more
whats the part number for this part
Mines making this constant clicking noise
fixes that too

Mine makes a clicking noise also. How do u figure out which one is it. The clicking noise sounds like it's coming from passenger feet area.
That would suck if you put it in and the part was defective.
It was lol
I cut the bracket

Right… Google mode door vs blend door. Thanks for the comment James
