wow, I assume you arrived in Armenia with very little Armenian. Amazing how much progress you've made. As a kid in the 80s I spent summers in Stepanavan and villages in the mountains to the west, Armanis, Katnakhpur etc. I am Azeri, so since 1989 we could no longer go, given the escalation of hostilities. Obviously a lot has changed since then but I think I am convincing myself that I still recognized the general feel of the town and streets. thanks. This was pleasant
This was absolutely beautiful! I am an Armenian-American living in San Francisco...and my Armenian isn't as great as yours! Seems this experience has become a great part of you. Really enjoyed watching this, makes me yearn to go to my motherland and rekindle :)
I am so glad you made this video, thank you! I gre up in Stepanavan, currently live in FL and was showing this to my kids. P.s. I am also married to an RPCV :)
Oh. My Word. Did that lady say Glendale when you mentioned the US? SO funny. I grew up in the town right next to Glendale and its filled with Armenians. I grew up learning armenian & eating armenian food at friends houses {I'm white}. I almost fell off my bed when I heard her say that.
You have it so wonderful compared to some of the volunteers! The other videos I've seen have some pretty sketchy bathrooms haha! Hope I get it as nicely as you did when I join. (:
"You're" not "your". But he's living there as a Peace Corps volunteer. Maybe he was there to volunteer as a teacher or to provide medical aide, or something like that. Sorry it's taken 5 years to get a reply.
