Fun fact: Jackie Chan was an inspiration when creating Goku, from his goofy child like fighting reactions, respect for everyone and perseverance too never give up.
Exactly. Goku was originally inspired by Jackie Chan in the original Drunken Master (1978), which Akira Toriyama was a big fan of. Goku is just like a young Jackie Chan in his early kung fu comedy movies, e.g. Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, Drunken Master, Young Master, etc.
From what I remember in an interview, Benny said that most of the fight was just him and Jackie sparring. There were also times when they and the stunt team fell asleep on set and just went back to it came morning. If that's not dedication, I don't know what is.
I saw Benny interview and he said for the slow mo they couldn’t ‘fake’ the punches to his jaw. It would have been too obvious. So Jackie really hit him. And they had to do several takes so he had to get ice on it or his face would swell up too much. And on the first take he really did put out the candles but on retakes he said if they made him try it again he would pull his hamstring so they had to rig up the ‘Woosh’ after that.
those were all classic real time techniques Benny used in his real world champion fights that he won 60 matches with...just an epic Legendary fighter...!
This is one of my favourite fights of Jackie Chan. Jackie challenged Benny to hit him for real & Benny did. In turn, Jackie also landed some real punches on Benny. Most likely, the hits you see & the reactions are real. But they were cool about it after that & Jackie asked him to appear again in his movie "Dragons Forever."
Yep facts I saw the interview of benny the jet. He spoke about how Jackie chan hit him for real and bennys face started to swell up and he had to put ice on it. He kicked Jackie chan really hard an winded him and Jackie actually told him to kick him hard.
@@ZAK19857 Benny legit broke a Japanese dudes rib with a spinning side kick in one of his professional fights. You could probably still find it on youtube.
The fight scenes with Jackie n benny was full force punches n kicks as stated in benny interview Crazy! Looked so good no wonder it was so realistic! Benny is a legend !
This has always been one of my Fav fights & still is & still a Fav movie. They a day or two filming this fight & they slept on the set. They also ate on set. Jackie knew Jetts skill level & that he could lay into him, Jackie would encourage Benny to do the same especially when & if Jackie had padding. But yeah that crack to Benny’s Head was definitely legit & when Benny Kicked out the flames from the candle in one of the tales they did of it.
After the bruce lee/chuck norris battle, this was the second most beautiful movie fight ever filmed. It seems to also be a homage of sorts to that other fight; the way jackie changed tactics mid-fight, and jet trying to fight back in spite of his wobble. And that table scraping back was the BEST wow moment!
That knee strike though.... absolute perfection. Definitely caught him on the chin. Reminds me of Tony Jaa when he does his flying knee strikes in Ong Bak
That transition to the second is so well executed. Instead of matching his aggressiveness with the other guy. He adopted a more playful mindset. That threw off the aggressor. Not knowing how to handle his playful style.
this fight scene was the inspiration for gokus character, the eating scene from jackie chans drunken master the beginning also was a huge inspiration for gokus huge appetite.
btw ... Scott Arkins does this series were he sat down with some action and fighting legends he did one with Benny not too long ago its called "The Art of Action" He talkes about this very figth scene for about 20minutes and it is honestly amazing my respect for benny is even higher than before watching it

OMG shaky cam is stupid, this is what makes Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung geniuses, wide angle shots to ACTUALLY LET YOU SEE the fights, smooth transitions to the next fight scene and taking a breather for example when Jackie grabs the chair and talks to himself this gives the audience the chance to digest what happens before he resumes the fight, now that's how you create a fight scene not these stupid shaky cams, bad lighting and closeups so they can attempt to fool you that the actors use stunt doubles in certain scenes
Yo, Jackie Chan skills is underrated, great classic fight scene, also love you guys know about The Raid, both 1 and 2, not alot of people do, some of the best fight scenes ever, but yall missed one from The Raid 2, where dude that plays Mad Dog in the first movie gets set up in the club in The Raid 2, CRAZY SCENE that ends with his death after he takes out like 50 dudes. Also, with Jackie Chan, would love to see some Legend of the Drunken Master, and also another movie of his not too well known, it's called Who Am I - The Roof Scene, he fights 2-3 different dudes, amazing fight scene. So, for the record, scenes km requesting.. The Raid 2 - Mad Dog death at club fight scene Jackie Chan - Who Am I - Rook fight scene Legend of the Drunken Master - End Fight Scene
Please react to any fight scene with Jet Li from the movie "Fist of Legend". Or anything Donnie Yen. Some of his old school shit like "Iron Monkey" or "Legend of the Wolf". And arguably Jackie Chan's finest movie, "Drunken Master 2".
If you guys love Jackie Chan’s fights you should checkout RUMBLE IN THE BRONX that’s one of his best movies hands down and tons of actions against real gangsters this is also when his English was pretty good so he had a lot of great dialogue In The movie and pretty much trash talks the gangsters it’s crazy 😂
Hey guys, between this one and Dragons forever which one was your favorite? Also if you y’all didn’t do it yet check out Gorgeous last fight another dope Jackie Chan fight scene
These were the days when you can actually see what was going on in a fight scene, when the camera wasn't so close up that you couldn't tell who was hitting who and without that "shaky cam" nonsense.
Excellent video. I was wondering where you get that particular copy of Wheels on Meals? It has the Power Man soundtrack which is much better than many I have heard. I am also looking for the original english version of Twin Dragons which is much better than the newer version where Jackie re-dubbed the audio for a new release in the us.
Benny the Jet has a insane record in fighting - 63 and 2, with 57 by KO.
That's Why Jackie Chan is the Real tough guy to real challenge to Benny for real punches, kicks and flights for this scene....
@@yumnamleewinmangang1944 a scripted scene
@@yumnamleewinmangang1944 but your right tho, even benny in a interview said jackie could have been a champ if he went pro and not just entertainment
That why Jackie chose him
I probably watched this scene over 100 times back in the day. Benny the Jet ain’t no joke.
Bryan Plowden same here bro, you seen the other fight they had against each other?
RT TV yes sir! Dragons Forever.

Wow!! Jackie feels even more legendary then.
But instead he played as the City Hunter and Chun Li.
Good to see the young generation seeing this. I grew up with this movie and is still one of the greatest fights in cinema history for me
When this movie was filmed Benny was legit one of the baddest dudes on the planet. Noone could beat him in the ring.
billy chow
Considering all the hits Jackie took were real and actually got hurt is truly admiring😊
From what I remember in an interview, Benny said that most of the fight was just him and Jackie sparring. There were also times when they and the stunt team fell asleep on set and just went back to it came morning.

Fun fact he blew the candles with the kick. He told that in the Scott Atkins art of action
I just saw an interview with him where they admitted he didn't
Yeah. That didn’t happen. That’s movie effects
Jackie Chan is absolutely genius! In just about every way. I read his autobiography. Talk about fascinating!
This one fight scene looks more awesome than all Marvel and DC movies. Charisma, choreorgraphy and talent vs computer graphic.
Cgi is nothing comparison with Jackie Chan vs Benny the Jet

Wheels on meals. Amazing film. Superb fight. People forget about yuen biao. One hell of a tumbler.
