Yes!! I got my love of Kung Fu movies and Jackie Chan from my dad and remember when I was in middle school he took me to a book signing for his biography and I was grinning from ear to ear. I actually read the book and his life growing up was crazy and amazing.
This is how you'll used your martial art skills in a real fight and Jackie showing how it's done And Jackie is literally the embodiment of improvised, adapt, overcome Best action, comedy movie Jackie Chan makes my childhood awesome and always will be now too
Jackie can actually fight. He trains with Ken Lo, his bodyguard and decent kickboxer in his own right. Ken can be seen fighting Jackie in Drunken Master 2. Jackie has always admitted that real martial artists and grapplers would definitely beat him, but he also said they had to catch him first, hahaha! Jackie is the best
GSP is trying to get into movies, so the 'ultimate' goal of UFC fighters ain't to stay around until you eventually get your brain smashed up (literally)...it's to get into something more sustainable. Fighting is now entertainment and the greats have figured that out ages ago.
Plus, the choreographer was Yuen Woo-ping (Matrix, Kill Bill, Crouching Tiger, etc...). But never have high expectations when it comes to Hollywood kung fu movies. The likes of Tarantino rare breeds.
Brad is hilarious! "Ikea champ" was gold. I wish he would have taken me to class in kindergarten and shown all those lil bastards what he does for a living.
Jackie Chan is amazing. I'm glad you think so too. I love the way he knows how to laugh at himself on top of his awesome stunt skills. Of Donnie Yen, Chackie Chan and Jet Li I am most in awe of Donnie Yen for the martial arts talent, but Jackie Chan is such a phenomenal showman and stuntman.
I discovered Jackie in my local video (yes that's right VHS) shop like 35 years ago when nobody here in the West had ever heard of him, couldn't believe someone with so much obvious talent and vision could be an almost complete unknown!! Took Hollywood another 7-8 years to take notice. There will never be another like Jackie so enjoy him while you can. Btw you guys should have put the names of the film's on screen as they came up. Glad you showed him so much respect though ;)
The first time I saw Jackie was on The Cannon Ball Run I and II. That split kick really stood out. Didn't see him again till Police Story II. I was hooked after that.
@@jedaaa No. At least I don't think so. A lot of them are hard to remember which is which. He has many I have yet to see. I am going to look for that one!
Stunt fighting and actual contact fighting are two different things, but it's the commitment to pain that Jackie undergoes as a stunt person, as well as his unbelievable talent for comedic action, directing, choreography and acting that make up a very enviable package, unenviable if you think of the injuries he's suffered over his career. He embraces real danger to make his stunts as much as he can, and he's paid for it, but we've benefitted so much as a result. He deserved his honorary Oscar in 2016 and so glad he has been recognised for it.
@@kayleighberrisford5235 Not now, though he has been a stunt person anyway. He is also a martial artist and all the other things mentioned. He was a stunt person in Enter the Dragon when Bruce Lee was at his height, as well as in several other films in the 70s. His days in the opera were harsh and set the norm for a high threshold of pain.
He is also one of the few action stars that has legit professional fight background too. Jackie is freakin legit. Imagine how complicated and how many takes it must take to do all that choreography
Fun fact: Jackie breaks a leg filming Rumble in the Bronx, where he leaps from a bridge to a ship mast, gets his leg in a cast, has a look alike latex cover to match his outfit over it and reshoots the scene, he also injured himself in the scene trying to pass through said trolley, got stuck in it first try, I love watching Jackie’s bloopers too, just proves he’s still human 😂
Jackie Chan is a Professional in all forms of Martial Arts. The man has put his body through almost as much as everyone of you combined if not more. JC also admitted he's not a fan of these MMA and UFC shows, cause to be honest they're disrespectful when it comes to certain Martial Arts. Which teach you, to let your opponent get back to their feet and continue fighting instead of getting punched in the back of the head. Much like Conner McGregor proved in his fight against Mayweather. There are just some things you don't mix. UFC and MMA are just brands. No real martial artists, just angry people who have been taught some sort of Martial Arts one way or another. The ones who respect Martial Arts will let you get back up.
The part in Drunken Master where you guys thought Jackie was kissing his opponent was actually him jabbing the guy in the eye with his big nose. Earlier in the movie the opponent did a similar attack with his chin as it's equally distinguished. Just kind of inside humor, laughing at themselves.
11:06 Actually, the main reason the guy spat on Jackie and the bamboo was because since Jackie split the bamboo when he kept hitting the wooden posts around him, it basically splintered into multiple sharp edges which when you see the close up of him looking at Jackie's hand, he sees that Jackie's hand is being shredded and his shirt was shredded. So to negate that, he basically lubricates the splintered bamboo and Jackie, ties Jackie's torn shirt around the area where the splintered sections and the rest of the bamboo meet to stop it from shredding his hand and his body.
What!? Jackie in his prime would have knocked these clowns out, his pain threshold is way higher than MMA fighters. He fell 20 metres from a palm tree broke his skull and still got up.
I bought The Foreigner on DVD when it hit stores. At Jackie's age, he's still incredible.... I know a lot of practitioners wouldn't stand up in MMA, but I think someone with the skill level of Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Tony Jaa, Scott Adkins, or Michael Jai White would dominate in MMA.
I was with you until you said dominate. Compete? Sure. Dominate? Unless furniture is allowed IN the octagon Jackie (at his age) is getting crushed by some, and last till the end bell with others. Ja and Li? Take a decade off the former, two off the latter, and they'd do well enough. Speaking of ladders...Now if they're allowed in the octagon...
@@ZenSponge I didn't say the actors themselves... I said someone with their skill level. That's the whole problem with traditional styles? The master practitioners never test themselves against other masters or others styles, so said styles become stagnant and unreliable. There had to have been a time in history when traditional martial arts was highly effective, otherwise they wouldn't have persisted or existed to this point.
@@JubeiKibagamiFez as you said yourself.. too stagnant. They don't work against mma the way they are taught until now. If you don't know him yet look up Xu Xiaodong
@@fzoid3534 I know him. I saw his video against the wing chun "master." I don't know if it's just a western thing or if it's happening across the world, but martial arts schools tend to desire membership over having effectiveness. In my opinion, I don't think the styles themselves should be discredited, rather the ineffective practitioners should be discredited, and I know Xu XiaoDong is doing just that.
The final fight in "The Legend of Drunken Master" and the scene when he fights with a folding ladder in "Mr. Nice Guy" are my favorite Jackie Chan moments.
Jackie Chan is funny because he does all his stunts for real, he emphasizes each hit, he uses literally anything at his disposal, and overall puts a good story into it.
Jackie chan will always be my favorite martial arts actor. I know bruce was amazing. Lee was a beast. But what made jackie amazing is ability to be an "everyday" type of guy that always finds a way to win. Most times
True. And is also the reason why he is tied with Evel Kinevel for the record of having the most bones broken via stunt-work, and why insurance companies have him and his stunt-team blacklisted, seriously most of those stunts have seriously injured him and in one infamous moment nearly killed him, for example in Police Story 1 during the iconic light-bulb pole slide sequence he suffered multiple 2nd degree burns on his hands, and midsection and the crash through the glass onto the floor that ended the sequence resulted in him getting a broken pelvis, and injuries to his spinal cord that resulted in him barely avoiding getting paralyzed, in Project A during the Clock Tower sequence which was an homage to famed American comedian Buster Keaton he received an neck injury during the first take of the sequence but due to him wanting to get the sequence right he filmed the sequence 2 more times, and during the making of Armor of God he almost died while filming the closing moments of the opening scene basically the scene in question was him using a tree to pole vault to the other side to escape from angry natives but during one one of the takes the branch snapped causing him to crash on the stone floor of the set causing him to break his skull and suffer a near-fatal brain injury thankfully he survived but the resulting injury caused him to lose 20% of his hearing in one of his ears.
Personally, I just find the idea of someone fighting Jackie Chan and throwing a CHAIR at him, while he is expecting it and unarmed no less, to funny for words. Its like, oh you outnumber me three to one and you think it is unfair? Thank you for your consideration and this free weapon!
I also am an avid fan of Jackie Chan; he has entertained/educated & inspired so many people over the years but continues to maintain humility and the mans discipline is second to none. I recall him talking about his training regime for health an' fitness which was incredible and of course he is a great martial artist in his own right.
Come on guys. It is obvious that Jackie won't be able to stand up in a MMA fight because he isn't train for it. Just like MMA fighters are not trained to do stunts. They fail in stunts as much as Jackie will fail in the ring. If both are trained for it, then they will be on 'equal footing', then it will comes down to talent and personal ability to perform. Think logically guys, and stop hating for no reason.
2:44 Yes it is, its a technique in Hongkong action films called under cranking. The film is shot a 22 or so frames(or less) per second and played back at 24 frames per second. This gives the illusion of a fast and frantic pace. Although Jackie is an exceptionally good editor when it comes to fight scenes, and used under cranking sparingly and also used creative editing for the same effect.
Big fan and tbh he's the only actor I'd like to meet in person. Incredible action scenes combined with his kind of comedy. He's simply one of the best and always a nice guy. I'm just glad I was able to grow up watching his movies.
Jackie is total savage in his early years. But lets not forgot his amazing crew. It looks so cool because his crew doing awesome job at getting "hits" from Jackie. Jackie takes hits from his crew as well. He doesn't portray himself as invincible. Back when he was a stuntman, Bruce Lee accidentally hit him w/ a stick for real.

@@TheFightBible Well I get where you're coming from. He as a lot of durability since he makes his own stunts and his reflexes must be on a another level to be able to pull off those scenes which puts him at the very least on a equal stand with a mma fighter🤔 He's definitely not one of those "fake masters" but then again maybe I've watched too many fighting animes which you guys really should react to! Nice to have Fight Perfect TV back in action! Joe, there is a You-tube channel called Martial Man. A british man who lives and trains in Thailand. Who has an entire channel devoted to exploring eastern martial arts. Give it a look, and if it is possible to react to stuff (without copyright), then post a video on it. He has so many Kung Fu styles explored. Please be careful, I have heard he doesn't like anyone criticizing his content. I don't want to lose you guys again! :D
I personally enjoy that channel. I'm sure Brad and Joe will criticize some of it and pull it apart and some of that could be justified but the Martial Man comes across as sincere in trying to present different teachers. If he gets defensive about criticism or about his footage it might be best to just avoid drama. Monkey Steals Peach is a channel that gives a pretty straightforward presentation of some more traditional Chinese martial arts and the culture and history behind them. He's very humble and genuine about it. I guess a reaction to Muay Chaiya could also be interesting. It's one of the older martial arts before modern Muay Thai but it looks different and has different philosophy and strategies and is more traditional. They're a bit less aggressive and a bit more defensive but they like to defend by hurting with elbows. I saw some really interesting footage of a Muay Chaiya fighter doing friendly sparring with a wing chun based guy and another one of a Muay Chaiya guy using it in a Muay Thai bout. It could be interesting to see what impression this kind of martial art would make with Brad and how he would break down its strengths and weaknesses.
Jackie would 100% be able to take on "a real fighter", as he is a legitimate multiple black belt. His wrestling is quite low, but everywhere else he's got a chance
Not any pro fighter, and probably not any semipro grappler, muy Thai, or boxer. Unless it was a street fight, and there was a box of crayons for Jackie to use

My personal favorite fight scenes from jackie are from his project A (both films are just filled with them) films but his fight scene with benny urquidez is probably one of his best done one on one fights with no or little use of nearby objects if you want to see some of that
As fast as he is in his films, he's faster in actual fight. When he and Jet Li were going over that fight scene they got the producer to watch while they went "we'll just try some stuff and you tell us if it's good" But he had to tell them to slow down because the camera couldn't catch half of what they were doing.
He actually went to university in China for stage performance. He's a song and dance man by formal training. He got into being an extra in Kung Fu movies to make money. I understand he is actually more popular in China for his Pop Music songs than for his movies. The song you hear at the end of one of his movies is likely him singing.

Also there is a rythmn to it. Jackie said the problem now is there is just no pauses.. also the editing in hollywood is dreadful
@@npcimknot958 the most important thing is the editing, hollywood movies maintain continuity between cuts, which is normally a good thing, but turns fast paced fight scenes into a confusing mess.
in jackies fight scenes they always rewinds a fraction of a second on every cut, which makes them easier to follow
Read how he and others were trained as kids, no wonder these men are as tough as they seem!
Jackie chan is my hero. I grew up watching his movies.
I’ve never resonated with a RUclips comment more than this one
Yes!! I got my love of Kung Fu movies and Jackie Chan from my dad and remember when I was in middle school he took me to a book signing for his biography and I was grinning from ear to ear. I actually read the book and his life growing up was crazy and amazing.
This is how you'll used your martial art skills in a real fight and Jackie showing how it's done
And Jackie is literally the embodiment of improvised, adapt, overcome
Best action, comedy movie
Jackie Chan makes my childhood awesome and always will be now too
Jackie can actually fight.
Jackie Chan and Jet Li teaming up was a dream come true,
Only con about it, that it was in such an awful movie....
Too many great ingredients can make a shit meal lol
Plus, the choreographer was Yuen Woo-ping (Matrix, Kill Bill, Crouching Tiger, etc...). But never have high expectations when it comes to Hollywood kung fu movies. The likes of Tarantino rare breeds.
It was a family movie
@@jacoberickson4784 Most Jackie Chan movies during his prime were family friendly.
I mean too you maybe
Who Thinks Brad was excited to do a Jackie Chan intro? 😂😅😂
Everyone he is the modern bruce lee
Brad is hilarious! "Ikea champ" was gold. I wish he would have taken me to class in kindergarten and shown all those lil bastards what he does for a living.
Who wouldn't be
Love how Jackie Chan does a mixture of martial arts and comedy! 🤣
Jackie Chan is amazing. I'm glad you think so too. I love the way he knows how to laugh at himself on top of his awesome stunt skills. Of Donnie Yen, Chackie Chan and Jet Li I am most in awe of Donnie Yen for the martial arts talent, but Jackie Chan is such a phenomenal showman and stuntman.
hes a professional lethal martial arts practitioner
People forget he is a superstar singer in China too.
" never fight Jackie Chan in a room full of furniture"
This should be on a t-shirt..this is eternal... 😂
"Never fight Jackie Chan" is enough.
@@Fakeaorta police story 2 is one of my faves! Such an amazing film, did you ever see Amour of God? 🤪
@@jedaaa No. At least I don't think so. A lot of them are hard to remember which is which. He has many I have yet to see. I am going to look for that one!
@@jedaaa love the fight scene at the end from the dining hall to the 4 groin kicking high heeled girls.
@@Fakeaorta you must have seen enter the dragon before cannon ball run.
He is not a stunt person he is a martial artist who trained from the age of like 4
@@kayleighberrisford5235 Not now, though he has been a stunt person anyway.
Which movie is that?
What else you'd expect from mmaists?
What!? Jackie in his prime would have knocked these clowns out, his pain threshold is way higher than MMA fighters. He fell 20 metres from a palm tree broke his skull and still got up.
100% agree, especially in his prime.
Watching Jackie Chan just makes you happy. It's that simple.
If you don't know him yet look up
Xu Xiaodong
@@JubeiKibagamiFez Fair play, mate.
Bamboo is actually extremely strong, it could shred skin easily if used like that.
The final fight in "The Legend of Drunken Master" and the scene when he fights with a folding ladder in "Mr. Nice Guy" are my favorite Jackie Chan moments.
jackie chan is a legend so underrated i dont think people appreciate the talent this man has he can do things no one else can do
Nah.. he is NOT under rated at all LOL.
Jackie Chan is funny because he does all his stunts for real, he emphasizes each hit, he uses literally anything at his disposal, and overall puts a good story into it.
Jackie Chan is an awesome fighter!
His style is very practical and can be used even while he is laying on the ground!
Jackie chan will always be my favorite martial arts actor. I know bruce was amazing. Lee was a beast. But what made jackie amazing is ability to be an "everyday" type of guy that always finds a way to win. Most times
Jackie created a studio to train his own stunt crew.. They were able to take 20-30 ft. drops. Insane!!
Chan is objectively the greatest fight scene performer stunt man and choreographer arguably in all of cinema history!.
That i 100% agree with. Some comments have said "chan is the best fighter ever" they dont know what a fighter is. :D
No jackie vs benny the jet ! Please do one more Jackie Chan reaction, he has some more realistic (kinda) fighting scenes 😁
Just the fact he dose all his stunts makes him a bad ass in my book
He’s one of the reason I’m doing martial arts. Lol. Legend.
Personally, I just find the idea of someone fighting Jackie Chan and throwing a CHAIR at him, while he is expecting it and unarmed no less, to funny for words. Its like, oh you outnumber me three to one and you think it is unfair? Thank you for your consideration and this free weapon!
Jackie vs Benny. It's always will be the best fight scene.
A compilation of rolling, action, jump, hospital XD

I also am an avid fan of Jackie Chan; he has entertained/educated & inspired so many people over the years but continues to maintain humility and the mans discipline is second to none. I recall him talking about his training regime for health an' fitness which was incredible and of course he is a great martial artist in his own right.
Absolute legend. Give the man his roses!!
I love Jackie. Great guy. Thanks for the video guys.
The entire drunken master 2 final fight needs to be seen. That was a short clip of the very end of it in this film.
The moment I tried to picture myself trying to fight Jackie Chan in IKEA my beer went allover the floor 😂😂😂👍
2:44 Yes it is, its a technique in Hongkong action films called under cranking. The film is shot a 22 or so frames(or less) per second and played back at 24 frames per second. This gives the illusion of a fast and frantic pace. Although Jackie is an exceptionally good editor when it comes to fight scenes, and used under cranking sparingly and also used creative editing for the same effect.
i haven't seen yet an MMA fighter move well in a movie like jackie chan...JACKIE is something else
We should give credit to all of his crew....because they are making Jackie look awesome.
P.S. 5:44 it's wire
7:56 thats a fake leg (you must watch behind the scene of Who Am I...its so funny)
Jackie takes hits from his crew as well. He doesn't portray himself as invincible. Back when he was a stuntman, Bruce Lee accidentally hit him w/ a stick for real.
@@jp3813 If Jackie take hit from one of his crew that’s a mistake, you should watch if you don’t “Jackie Chan My Stunts” it’s amazing one hour documentary of how he made his stunts
@@giannisksanthopoulos4300 "My Stunts" covers how they prepare to hit each other, such as using fake shoes. There've been many scenes of Jackie where he takes a closeup hit in slow motion.
@@jp3813 Many of these close up shots they are using rubber shое or fist with a litle baby powder. Even Dony Yen still use this rubber fists.
Jackie doesnt like to get hit. The famous fight of Wheels of Meal, Benny Urquidez hits Jackie two three times but these shots are not in the movie and Jackie was litle grumpy about it but he understands because Benny at the time was a REAL fighter and not an actor or stuntman.(That was actualy Benny Urquidez words in interview with Scott Adkins)..
Even Jackie Chan doesnt hit his crew (in the face) only to the body but of course they are padded. Dony Yen paid to his stuntmans an extra money for real punches(and of course with their approval...they are not animals...or real fighters).
@@giannisksanthopoulos4300 Expecting a hit is a much different feeling from getting hit by mistake. Nobody likes the latter. But when Jackie told the story about Bruce hitting him on the head, he said that he was used to it.
Whenever Chan fight inside the house , he ko infrastructure first and ko opponent later🤣🤣🤣🤣
Legendary performers, such as Jackie Chan, are why young people take up Martial arts. Action stars are why people get serious about Martial arts. MMA is where people learn to use Martial arts. It's all good.
I honestly think that Jackie chan in his prime could take on a mma fighter and win. No matter the environment
Well your imagination is pretty vivid. Its nice to think they would but spend any time training with a fighter you will see its a whole different league of savage!
@@TheFightBible Well I get where you're coming from. I've seen some mma fights and they look pretty intense but then again Jackie as a lot of different styles of kungfu he can switch to and he's speed his incredible. There's Baki and Kengan Ashura. Two fighting anime with many fighting scenes with different style of fighting coming from all over the world, including mma! If you haven't already xD I'm new to the channel
The weird 'nose' bit at 5:08 is because: earlier in the fight, Jackie('s character) had tried to tie up his enemy and the guy had used his chin to grind it into Jackie's eyesocket to escape; so, it was just 'payback'.
The intro was priceless. Keep up the good work 🍻
You guys are wonderful! I laughed the entire time or this reaction while also being amazed by Jackie Chan. Thanks for such a fun video😊

Jackie Chan is an absolute legend!
Benny the Jet said Jackie had everything it took to be full contact champion if he wanted too.
Fun fact! in the second scene he actually fights his own bodyguard!
yes because the actor who's suppose to be the main villain cannot keep up with the physicality of the fight scene.

Great vid guys making me laugh like always!
Wow
He actually went to university in China for stage performance. He's a song and dance man by formal training. He got into being an extra in Kung Fu movies to make money. I understand he is actually more popular in China for his Pop Music songs than for his movies. The song you hear at the end of one of his movies is likely him singing.
