Awesome guide! This helped me a lot because reading the article Drop put up about this process got a bit confusing. One thing I found is that as of today, May 23rd 2022, the command to paste into CMD is "mdloader --first --FILE_NAME --restart" without a leading ./ in front of the command. Also, don't forget to include .bin at the end like I did!
Video was super helpful, thank you so much! Now the only thing is to now figure out why NKRO stopped working when I used only the default CTRL layout (refreshed it since I was having chatter issues on keypresses).
@@megadoodoostain I did!! my keyboard is the Drop CTRL (this solution should also work for the ALT). I added an extra file called "massdrop_ctrl_default-smarteeprom.bin" in the folder that contains the mdloader and the other bin files. To get your corresponding file, google "Massdrop Loader (with SmartEEPROM support)" and scroll down to "Quick Start" and click "Download" in the first bullet point. You'll find it in one of the assets files. HOPE IT HELPS!!!!
Thank you so much for this video! This was by far the best tutorial I could find, and it helped me re-configure my Drop Shift. I was feeling really lost reading tutorials for this, and being able to see every step visually made it super easy.
I used the configurator before without issue. Now I cannot get the configurator to actually generate a configuration. The button just spins and spins. Using QMK now.
I actually figured out what it was, you didn't copy all of the name, you need the .bin at the end as well so it recognises the file. So just go back to your configurator file and copy all of it including .bin, add it to the command and run it again with the steps and you'll be set!

Same exact problem here :( So annoying, especially after paying such a premium. Pretty lame they don't have their software, for example Razer has Synapse, which makes adjusting their rgb super easy

Yes, this is great. It really is the easier tutorial. Good rate of speech for pausing, etc. I was getting the message "could not find a valid device port."
