Ali was 33, sangwoo was in his old forties. His baby boy will grow up without a father, and poor. Money could not fix sang woos life, clearly he's been through too much, done too many wrong things, but Ali could help provide a better future for his son. There are a lot of differences. He’s so pure. Writers and directors said this series is to fight against discrimination and rape and violence. They seem to see women, immigrants and elderly as weak and worth less.
Know that sang woo killed himself so gi hun can’t save him and give up the money. The first thing he brought up when begging Ali was show concern for his mother, not himself
"You didn't cheat but you're still a traitor" hits different here because Sangwoo didn't break any of the rules, but he still lied and betrayed our Ali 🥺💔
The actor's effort into his role has really attached within me. Anupam really is the kind of guy that can make the whole series seem so different than any kind of show I've seen. Overall I believe in Ali supremacy ✌️

What's fascinating about Sang-woo's character is all throughout the games, all he did was try to survive using his wit and in the marble game, he couldn't use that to win fairly so he did what he did. I kinda hate it when characters that are clever or would definitely stand a chance failed just because destiny said so. It's unfair. He lost his morality just to get through bc he knows that he couldn't win an unfair life. Well, I'm sorry if I want him to win the games better than Player 456. Sang-woo sacrificed a lot of things, even himself. I don't think he enjoyed any of the killings or betraying his friends. He just had to.
[spoiler vid and comment] Sang-woo accused Ali of cheating then all those moments of Ali and Sang-woo together. They were like best friends, the sad thing is that Ali didn’t even check in the bag just because he trusted Sang-woo so much then he found out it wasn’t marbles.. Ali was looked up to Sang-woo, he saved Gi-hun from dying in Red Light, Green Light! He was one of my favorite characters in the show. Ali was looking for Sang-woo but he couldn’t find him, sadly I feel bad. Ali just wanted to reunite with his wife and son. He really deserves better it really got me when he died. [end]
The fact that all Sang woo did is a human instinct, A human wants to survive and does all the things to survive on, Basically in a life death situation people won't hesitate in saving themselves over others! That's how this epic is!!
@@KeltkeGH yea but betraying ali made it worse there could have been another way either he let one of them win..but that made his death messy..I get what you mean tho!!!
Honestly, If I were in Sang Woo's situation I'd give my life for Ali, Sang Woo had only his mother, Ali had a wife and a baby, Sang Woo even thought about k1lling himself in the bathtub, Ali in general had more reasons to stay alive.
I think the last time a tv series character's death made me cry was Jopson from 'Terror'. Both Jopson and Ali were good people who didn't deserve what happened to them.
Cmon why Ali? He is my favourite character. He has got a wife and a child WHY ALI???? 😪. I thought sang-woo was going to be good since he gave the bus fare for Ali. And then... betrayed. This is now making me cry so hard I can't control it.
Ep 6 is too hard too digest. I mean wtf was that man come on. All the characters who we got attached to and started to feel for them, getting betrayed, sacrificed and killed. Total ride of emotions and tears.
Say what you want about him, he’s the most realistic character in this show. You must admit, wouldn’t we all push others to keep our own lives in a situation like this? I get the Ali thing was overkill, but, Sang-woo is the best written character in Squid Game. Can’t change my mind.
One of the most heart breaking episodes i have ever seen, pre episode 6 Cho sangwoo and Ali were both my favorite characters... Usually TV never gets me but i actually felt sad for a few minutes after i lost my two favorite characters at once, Tho i still really like Cho sangwoo at the same time i dont, But lets be honest . who would die for someone you barely know? but on the other hand even Cho sangwoo could tell that Ali looked up to him and would be loyal to the very end. You can see it in Sanwoo's eyes when they shoot Ali, his face tells you that he will never forget
Ali had won first, but he decided to play again according to Sangwoo. But ultimately got betrayed. He was such a pure soul🤧. I wish he could just resurrect in the next season, someway by some plot twist
I know sang-woo is supposed to be the "real one" like the character that most people would act like in this game And while I agree with that, I would still die for Ali
I hated sangwoo for what he did to Ali, but can't ignore the fact that he was so kind to him he even gave him the bus fair and cared alot about him...he wasn't actually a bad person at all, there were just some circumstances that made him do what he did.
He made Ali believe that they will won together after screaming and calling Ali a cheater ali was a good character but sang woo made him trust him because they bonded Then he broke that trust Also unpopular opinion but Ali’s kinda gullible
he didnt do the first three for trust, when he found out that the game was to make your partner loose then he told him to do the last one because he wanted to win
@@drakenai3692 But just remember first of all sang woo was a very good friend to him(possibly his best friend) and built so much trust with him but he broke it and took advantage of his innocence and second of all he sang woo had a mother but Ali had a whole family to feed and was homeless so can u give any other reason to defend a sang woo(not saying it in a rude way

I will do the same what Sang woo did He is the most logical character in this series Anyone in that situation would have betrayed to save themselves And that's what the mc did to the old man he did trick him Stop acting all pure in the internet
Before Ali died I knew he was planning to let Ali die because he said when Ali was hesitant to play “Are we gonna both die? or Are you gonna die on my behalf?” (Smth like that) He had no intentions in letting him live-
Anupam Tripathi I love this man now he's so pure his acting skills are phenomenal I know its a drama but I'm crying like anything after watching his death scene 🥺🥺🥺
He was the only character who kept saving others in the show.. Yes I know he entered by his opinion but he had no choice. At green light red light. He saved The main character and who knows he might have not been that strong to catch him but other people were scared for themselves only. Lights out he defended his team. Yeah Tug of War they all killed each others. But how would they know they have to kill each others if first two games were getting killed by those red people. And nobody will stop playing so far so yeah he still has to play Tug of War. And at the marbles he almost won and Sang-Woo called him a cheater and used violence against him even though Ali was strong he didn't fight back or anything he was surprised the one he trusted was acting like this he was so kind to fight back. And when Sang-Woo begged him to help him and they can win together. Ali's kind heart fell for this trap. Really Ali was the most innocent character in the show.
Technically in tug of war they didn’t kill the other players- the guards cut the rope. The same goes with marbles- the guards shot them, they didn’t kill their partners. The only game where you have to physically kill other players is the last game.
@@blinktwice4541 yea but betraying Ali made it more messy and mean..I mean he could have asked for another round or just accept his fate and let Ali win..but not cheat and do him dirty like that!!! I see your point there tho i wouldn’t wanna die either..
@@baileyxcookie5093 I also see your point here. Sangwoo Could've made it less complicated and messy but my Point here is, that sangwoo was realistic here. They all knew that their has to be 1 winner in the end, I also don't get why people aren't mad at Gihun too? He also Tricked the old man lol.
Ali was the most fan favorite character! The way that he saved gi hun is so nice of him more then the others that just want the prize money he is also the nicest character! I wish we get to see him win the final game and fight gi hun and say "ur worth it man go get the money" and dies slowly:(
It’s honestly so sad. I can’t believe Sangwoo played him like that. Selfish. And he looked up to him, and Ali was so so pure and sweet. He just wanted to go home, that’s all. Just like everyone else. And he deserved it more then almost anyone. He saved Gi-huns life during the first game Red light Green light. He saved him even though he could’ve let him die, but instead he lowered his chances of going home for someone else to have a second chance. Why do the best characters always have to get backstabbed or punched in the gut. *He was so awesome, and the best.*
it’s sad to see, that there are actually people in this world who were like this but were betrayed. If they survive, they will be the villains also known as broken heroes 🕊💎 Ali was a diamond that didn’t recieve his deserved amount of shine, even if he comes back in season 2 (or maybe not), I really hope he stays the same. Although it was heartbreaking to see him realizing faith is nothing but a weakness in the end, I swear I’ve never cried for a fictional character like I did for him before
*Reasons why i hate Sang-woo very much:* *1. He betrayed Ali by tricking him* *2. He killed my favorite character Kang Sae-Byeok by stabbing her in the neck* *3. He lied to everybody he loved* *4. He lied to his mom he lied to his best friends Gi-Hun and Ali*
Points to defend Sang woo 1. He is the most logical character in this series, also my fav 2. Betraying? That's what everyone would do in that situation, I am comparing fiction and reality but if my life is on line I would betray anyone, you would do the same, that's what humans are 3. The show is a game of survival, weed out the weak, try to sweep up your competitors 4. He did lie to his mother because he did not want to hurt her, just understand the shame and pain he might have felt If you overcome those points Sang woo will become your fav character
Welll let me say that in my opinion your hatred is misplaced. Sangwoo he was just trying to help his mother and get out of debt like everyone else. All the characters have blood on their hands, doesn't matter if it's directly or indirectly. For every game that they won, others died. Also Sangwoo killed himself in the end, so that Ali and Saebyeok's deaths wouldn't go in vain and that his mother can live the rest of her life in peace. Because he knew Gihun would really save him instead of taking the money. Honestly hate the people who made the game, not the desperate ones (like Sangwoo) who are just trying to live

Sangwoo is the part of us that we don't want to acknowledge it's existence
We are born psychopaths, we were just told to behave and be nice, our lives involved getting shocked when nice things don't happen to us when we behaved nicely.
@@stankssmile5865 yup, all of us have that shadow part (if you dont get what i mean, its one of the layers of a person's personality). shadow is actually a wild and animalistic side of humans that very scary and messy most of us tend to hide this and dont even want to know this side exists. this is about psychology, if you don't understand, then you can find out by reading Jung's map of the soul

He did not deserve to die, Ali, a being so pure and good, he just wanted to return to his family🤧😭.
I wanted him to win as well
[spoiler vid and comment]
Sang-woo accused Ali of cheating then all those moments of Ali and Sang-woo together.
[end]
The fact that all Sang woo did is a human instinct,
A human wants to survive and does all the things to survive on,
Basically in a life death situation people won't hesitate in saving themselves over others!
That's how this epic is!!

Great acting and writing - we all hate him because of all he did, but, by the end of episode 9, we’re sympathetic to Sang Woo.
nobody is
I know sang-woo is supposed to be the "real one" like the character that most people would act like in this game
And while I agree with that,
I would still die for Ali
I hated sangwoo for what he did to Ali, but can't ignore the fact that he was so kind to him he even gave him the bus fair and cared alot about him...he wasn't actually a bad person at all, there were just some circumstances that made him do what he did.
He made Ali believe that they will won together after screaming and calling Ali a cheater ali was a good character but sang woo made him trust him because they bonded
Then he broke that trust
Also unpopular opinion but Ali’s kinda gullible
he didnt do the first three for trust, when he found out that the game was to make your partner loose then he told him to do the last one because he wanted to win
I think at first the things sang woo did for Ali were genuine then he realized he had to betray Ali to stay alive I rlly did like sang woo at first:(
I might be wrong but he has no choice
he really need money to help his mother...
and he's always care about other people too
@@drakenai3692 But just remember first of all sang woo was a very good friend to him(possibly his best friend) and built so much trust with him but he broke it and took advantage of his innocence and second of all he sang woo had a mother but Ali had a whole family to feed and was homeless so can u give any other reason to defend a sang woo(not saying it in a rude way

here is my heart chopped into tiny little pieces
Before Ali died I knew he was planning to let Ali die because he said when Ali was hesitant to play “Are we gonna both die? or Are you gonna die on my behalf?” (Smth like that)
He had no intentions in letting him live-
Oh that's foreshadowing

Anupam Tripathi I love this man now he's so pure his acting skills are phenomenal
I know its a drama but I'm crying like anything after watching his death scene 🥺🥺🥺
I wouldn't feel sad if Ali's death was fair but he was betrayed. He was the purest soul
Ali is nothing but a beautiful Angel ♥️
Aww this sets tears to my eyes 😭😭😭❤️❤️.. Their relationship was so sweet OH WOW SANG WOO😭😭😭

Why do the best characters always have to get backstabbed or punched in the gut.

it’s sad to see, that there are actually people in this world who were like this but were betrayed. If they survive, they will be the villains also known as broken heroes 🕊💎 Ali was a diamond that didn’t recieve his deserved amount of shine, even if he comes back in season 2 (or maybe not), I really hope he stays the same. Although it was heartbreaking to see him realizing faith is nothing but a weakness in the end, I swear I’ve never cried for a fictional character like I did for him before
*Reasons why i hate Sang-woo very much:*
*1. He betrayed Ali by tricking him*
*2. He killed my favorite character Kang Sae-Byeok by stabbing her in the neck*
*3. He lied to everybody he loved*
*4. He lied to his mom he lied to his best friends Gi-Hun and Ali*
Points to defend Sang woo
1. He is the most logical character in this series, also my fav
2. Betraying? That's what everyone would do in that situation, I am comparing fiction and reality but if my life is on line I would betray anyone, you would do the same, that's what humans are
3. The show is a game of survival, weed out the weak, try to sweep up your competitors
4. He did lie to his mother because he did not want to hurt her, just understand the shame and pain he might have felt
If you overcome those points Sang woo will become your fav character
@@moveslikeninja1 I agree with you people still openly defend that scumbag old man who faked his dementia and created the game that is sending these people to their deaths. But will hate on Sang woo who is just following the rules of the game that intended to have only one survivor.
