    Lightly pan-fried with butter, garlic, and cilantro. Also, deep fried heads are a must!

    just cooked spot prawns for the first time since moving to vancouver and used your steaming method for half of them. I did the other half butterflied and pan-seared.

    Favourite and best way is to boil and dip with soya sauce with chili!!!! Yummmm need to get more spot prawns!!!

    After cleaning and snipping, usually just boiled the bc spot prawns and served with a sweet and spicy soy sauce with minced garlic. I keep the water for seafood stock for soups like laska!

    Tried this for the first time and had sashimi and grilled. Sooooooo divine!!! I shall try the boiled and steamed method next time! Can’t get enough of it!!!

    My favourite way of having spot prawns is having it as sashimi with soy sauce and wasabi. So sweet! During the season it’s as fresh as it can get!

    My FAVE way to eat spot prawns is to boil them & dipping them in soy chili sauce. Yum! Also, thanks for the tip to save the prawn heads for the ultimate stock!

    My mom makes the best spot prawn congee so that’s probably my fave way of eating them. But I also like them steamed and dip into garlic, ginger, soy sauce 😋

    I think a few years ago I got to go fishing with my family where the guy was fishing for spot prawns and we ate them fresh out of the water it was delicious!

    1. I love the traditional Vietnamese way in my family, Steamed prawns in beer with a spicy Vietnamese nuoc Cham. 2.Grilled spot prawns in butter, lemon and garlic.
    3. Spot prawn ceviche or sashimi 🥰💯

    I just picked up 2lbs from F.I.S.H this afternoon.

    When I order spot prawns at sushi restaurants, they serve it with the head. It’s uncooked. Can I eat that?

    The best place to buy live spot prawns and for a fair price is the Steveston docks in Richmond.

    The best way is boiled! Just simple to allow those sweet flavours to speak for itself :) maybe a little dabble of soy sauce

    It is like Christmas with this giveaway hehehe! My fav is the steam style with Garlic!
    Also dumb wustuob, how did you get to stop jumping or did you kill it swiftly. I find that even when I was rinsing them, they kept jumping around!!

    As a Thai, I would wanna try to eat them with Thai spicy seafood dipping sauce ! because the sauce will enhance the flavour of the prawn and it would goes together really well :) a must to try if you love spicy food 🌶🔥🔥

    Is there a replacement for the chilies in oil? I can’t seem to find it in any of the grocery stores..I’m on Vancouver Island…I can find chilies/peanuts..but not straight chilies

    I think the best way to eat spot prawns is to steam them briefly till the shell turned colour. Then remove the shell and dip the prawns in my family's special homemade soy sauce blend with lemon juice, green onion slithers and garlic bits.
