The Autobot’s logo placement on Bumblebee was never consistent in the cartoon so they give you the option to move it to his legs.
Also that joint in the back is a new T-shaped joint. They specifically said the AT-AT was a factor in creating the new piece

Totally agree. LEGO has lost their collective minds with massive, multi hundred dollar sets most people can't afford and don't have room for.

Was really hoping for Megatron for the next character but then I remembered his transformation 😂
Starting with Hasbro's G2 Megatron, he can also transform into an MBT (a main battle tank). I do realize, however, that this is still a "problem", given TLG's self-imposed regulations.
But then again, TLG (Lego) have already done tanks and tank-like vehicles on their Star Wars and Galaxy Squad themes (and possibly also a few others). TLG won't produce anything closely resembling modern-day military stuff, so the goal is to make the tank mode of Meg's as much 'sci-fi-looking' as possible.
Mind you, TLG had made a Creator set that was basically a modern-day fighter jet. But they rather made it colourful; primarily blue with white and red accents, so that it would look like the Blue Angels airplanes that attend various airshows. You may remember the set; it was on the market around 2016 or so.
You may also recall more such examples when TLG sort of bent their own rules; like the weird 'Dino 2010 / DinoAttack' theme where they basically produced a Hind-like helicopter gunship. Maybe also something from the Ultra Agents theme of theirs....
The other logo tile is so you have the option to put one on the hood of the vehicle. The reason is because in the G1 show the logo placement changes from episode to episode.
Megatron is gonna be awkward because I can't see them doing a tank or a gun. Maybe a Prime universe jet is how they'll approach it
I've been seeing people proposing that they do Soundwave instead, and honestly that might just be the best option. Out of all the top Cons his alt mode is easily the least problematic and the easiest to turn into Lego form, plus he's _almost_ as iconic as Megs.
I don't envy the designer(s) whose job it will be to do the complimentary cassette-bots though.
it would def be a more expensive set if they ever make it, because when I think about the molds needed to make a tank megatron, a decent amount won’t be cheap.
or maybe the transformers one or siege versions.

Probably not a gun, but I hope at least for a tank. If they can do Indiana Jones World War II stuff, Transformers should be able to get through the loophole as well, being from a sci-fi franchise.

The goldbug license plate is a reference to when he gets renamed in one of the g1 cartoon movies, he gets a new body and is given the new name “Goldbug” by Optimus prime. I actually like the robot form of this bumblebee, but I’m not a huge fan of the car form. I can’t imagine how challenging this would be to design though.
Bee's head reminds me of Unicron. The hands look pretty creepy though imo
The more I see the more excited I am to get this one. Engineering that went into the transformation is pretty spectacular despite the hollow midsection.. Going by early reviews the stability is apparently very good, and transformation is pretty fluid though the ratcheting in the middle looks to be something of a chore. Bee comes with two printed Autobot logos so one can be placed on the chest, and right leg as the insignia has sometimes been present on both. Also replacement tiles for a clean disguised look in car mode. Really don't mind him being out of scale as Lego would never have been able to make the model as complete/detailed if he were any smaller. This I feel is a great compromise as he definitely looks worth the price point.
I'm assuming the extra autobot emblem goes on the hood of the car so it can be accurate to his g1 form
The scale with Optimus Prime is nowhere perfect, but it's not that far off. They look great together! And a Cliffjumper recolor would be very possible using Bumblebee, we shall see! 😉
I'd go for a Lego version of Jazz or Sideswipe. 🙂

The windshield assembly is four studs deep, and the chest to waist section seems to be the same amount, so there could be a way to attach the windshield in more or less the same spot as it is in car mode. The thickness might be an issue, but it probably wouldn’t look too bad
Yeah that extra is so the logo can go on the hood/foot I imagine. The cartoon had the logo in various places so it’s cool that it gives you the option to add it.
Was looking forward to a Camaro bumblebee
The other Autobots logo tile looks like it's meant to be on the bonnet when in car mode. But when he goes into robot mode, the would be his left leg. I think the logo on Bumblebee's chest is from his roof but he doesn't have a logo there in car mode. So I think you swap it out when transforming similar to the belt on Optimus. I don't understand why you need 2 of them though. Just swap out the blank tile and the printed one.
That's gotta be the reason. It's great to get an extra Autobot symbol tile, though!

I wasn’t feeling this at first but the more I see it, the more I appreciate it for what it is. Is it perfect? No. But it’s a freaking transforming Lego set and 10 year old me would have been blown away by this! The great thing about the world we live in is we can all decide how we feel about something and decide whether to buy it or not. No one’s own opinion is wrong for them and we should all just appreciate the fact that it exists in the first place. I’m definitely going to get it. The other tile with the logo is so you can put it on his left foot. As others have said it wasn’t consistent in the cartoons
The extra autobot logo tile is probably so you can have a more accurate car mode, since despite it being on bee’s chest in robot mode, the symbol moves to the left side of the hood when he transforms

There are actual transformers toys that are more floppy and gappy than this lol. This looks really good.
Looks like the model had his hand strategically positioned to hide the massive gap on both sides of the torso.
The parts forming is actually pretty clever because it's a way to incorporate the wings from all of his post-movie designs, including the evergreen design this takes a lot of ques from, and doubles as his jetpack from G1. And then they don't show that in any of the photos for some reason.
Man-bun is a skater, he has a Krooked Skateboards tatoo.
Happy to see the Transformer line continuing, not actually impressed with the VW bug car portion. Hoping they make G1 Jazz ❤
After looking at more promo shots I realised the extra Autobot logo tile is for optionally putting it on the bonnet (hood)

so this could mean we could get maybe an megatron or shockwave or soundwave i mean we need something for prime and bee to fight right heck maybe an starscream or even an non transforming megatron would be ok because then it wouldn't effect lego we don't make guns thing i just hope we get an megatron and soundwave and shockwave and grimlock lego sets

I believe this was very difficult to design, and also had compromises to conform to LEGO's standards.
Bumblebee should be at least a head shorter than that. He is too tall, but he's at least significantly shorter than Optimus Prime.
I hope we get to see vehicle mode comparisons too.

It’s not perfect but I’m just happy something lego and transformers is under 100 bucks I have wanted prime so bad but I’ll gladly take this for half the price
I've collected Transformers for several years and often with figures there's a decision to make sacrifice on either Bot Mode or Alt Mode. This set unfortunately sacrifices both, and a parts former on top. Scale is about 25% off. And those shoulder pads and "wolverine claw hands" are tough to get by.
Very cool, Im not a fan of G1 bumblebee but still cool, I wouldve preferred megatron or starscream
To me it looks like they tried to hard to mimic the cartoon over the OG toy. The half transformation reminds me of the first season transformation. Though that is me remembering back to the early 80s. With how much they followed the toy on Optimus I'm surprised they didn't just retain the toys mechanics and improve on pose-ability from there.
Will definitely get this, but I was hoping if Lego did another Transformer, it would be Megatron.

It does look better when it's next to Optimus but knowing that it doesn't scale to it, I'm just so confused why they didn't give us something around the same size as Optimus. About 1000-1500 pieces and they probably could've made the car mode look better and the transforming could've fully worked. I think this will definitely need modding like Optimus to make it into the best version it can be.

He doesn’t really need knees because he can’t even move his legs forward anyways, so adding knees would have been pointless. He transforms the same way the original toy did and that’s all they were really trying to go for so he’s a success in that way. I kind of think he got the worst of both worlds though, it’s not a great looking transformer and it’s not a great looking Lego set. I admire them trying to stay really close to the original toy but I think it definitely could have benefited from taking some inspiration from later versions of the G1 toy that looked a little nicer.
I’m definitely gonna pass on this one but I’m glad they’re making more Transformer sets. I’m sure they’ll probably try to do Megatron but hopefully they don’t follow his original toy too closely because that was an absolute train wreck of a design already and building it out of Lego would just be an ugly mess.
Optimus: I CAN EAT YOUR ENTIRE FACE!
As a G1 fan I was ready to be all-in if they made a whole line of bots after Optimus. But I'm not feeling this one. Prime wasn't perfect but it was acceptable. Bee looks neither here nor there in either mode :/ Eh. I'm over it. What I'd like to see now is a line of G1 head sculpts like the SW/Marvel helmet line.
as also a G1 fan... Bee here is not bad, I actually like the design. My biggest issue is I wish he had better articulation in the knees and had ankle pivots. Still a little pricey... would like to see this around the $60 range honestly. When talking $90 I could go for instead the $80 mini-scale Millenium Falcon which I also want. :/

3:10 - Hi, Jang. It is there as an extra option. You can swap it with one of the tiles on the car's bonnet. This is to emulate a visage of some of the past Bumblebee Beetles that had the logo placed on there.
