      If he really just stayed in Berlin then not necessarily…Berlin almost has more English speaking locations than German lol, there are many restaurants etc. that only speak English and no German which is a problem since especially older citizens usually don’t speak much English, that’s one of the reasons why older people more and more avoid Berlin.

      this is a hot topic in korea recently.
      there has been a significant increase in misogyny and sex/hate crimes in korea recently (see telegram, deepfake, physically violence cases etc). korean men are developing deep-rooted hatred for korean women because of the rise of feminists and equal rights activists, while korean women are facing violence and injustices. therefore, because of the plummeting birth rate, both sides are seeking relationships with foreigners. of course this is case by case and not all koreans feel this way, but this is why it has been a trending discussion topic on online forums there.

Success brings admirers, but also haters. So making up lies by these Korea haters is common in RUclips's comment sections.
      I also had a pleasant experience during my trip along with my friends. Koreans were welcoming, polite, and just nice people all around. We definitely wanna go back and we tell everyone that we know how wonderful Korea is to visit and not to believe all these fake hater comments online.

    I think Korean government should make it mandatory to only allow high skill, college degree holders. You dont want bunch of low skill, uneducated, refugees etc from poor places with lots of social issues and crimes back home because the immigrants bring their habits and issues when they come to foreign countries. For example in America Asian Americans (east Asian) are described as model citizens by American media, govt and public. Stereotypes always come from common habitual traits of group of people coming from cultural backgrounds. East Asian raised or influence by Confucius ideology are naturally mindful of others and over-all good of the society and are education driven, self discipline eyc are the common traits of people coming from east Asia to the west. So although i am Indian i would suggest South Korea to first open immigration from Japan or Taiwan or Singaporeans, Switzerland, finland etc. people of these countries have reputation for being hard working, respectful and graceful in the mannerisms. If Korea open its doors to everyone people coming from gun loving country like USA or high crime rates country like africa or India or South East Asia will turn Korea upside down. As someone who loves Korean culture, kdrayand k-pop i want Korean society to stay true to its roots and should accept immigrants who will likely assimilate to korea rather than carve out separate identity like we see immigrants do in the West. Seeing how Americans are so oppssed with race politics that is big no no for Korea

    • @sundiataq
      @sundiataq 3 месяца назад +4

      Your worldview is simplistic, to put it mildly. Most countries that admit high numbers of immigrants do so because they need unskilled labor, or cheap, skilled labor. Not so much expensive skilled labor. People from the countries you mentioned do not emigrate from their home countries in numbers large enough to make a difference. All of those countries also have low birthrates. Emigration from countries with low birth rates to countries with low birthrates makes zero sense. Successful integration of migrants also has a lot more to do with migration policies, processes, and the political will to invest in proper education and integration programs than the origin of said migrants. And I don't think you understand what the "model minority myth" is really all about...

      I think you are wrong, indeed, you say that they should make it mandatory to only allow high skill, college degree holders however, this would pose certain problems knowing that many hard jobs are done by the "low skill, uneducated, refugee" from poor countries.
      In France, many jobs that no one wants to do but are essential for society, such as catering, construction, nursing for the elderly etc... are done by people who immigrated from poor countries.

      @@Ahmed-tv8zv not to be negative, but the fact that they “need” foreigners because of their low birthrate says that they don’t want foreigners there. I live in Korea and for the most part, I think we are tolerated not wanted. People can hop in the comments and say yeah “that’s your experience” naw. If anyone were to actually listen to all of the opinions about foreigner experiences in Korea, the general consensus would be negative.

      @@GetUnwoke well, that also proves the interviewee didn't deliver his point. The question was 'do koreans want immigrant come to korea?' And what he said was when he was berlin, he was amazed by multi-cultural environment, and now he found korea is developing in sense of multiculturalism. Basically he could say Yes or No and then elaborate his reasoning. Kudos for micro-scoping his verbal diarrhea

    Koreans are not known as candid people. Racism in South Korea is more of covert rather than blatant display. Their opinion regarding tourists and immigrants vary based on origin. It is like a social strata with Southeast Asians and Africans most likely at the bottom of the tier. I will have to take his opinion with a grain of salt. Likewise, I believe this isn't a completely random interview. Questions were probably already given prior filming. 😅

    Nope. Bringing foreigners as a solution is a disastrous idea. Instant multiculturalism is gonna ruin Korea. Maybe they should focus more on proper equity for women and other benefits for married couples.

      Really? according to the demographics, overall birth rate is getting dropped due to the socialeconomic components or something, to be honest although i know it is accepting the immigrants in korea is kind of unproductive components to us on the other hand, its necessarily essential thing for us to improve those circumstances increasing number of the immigrants in korea is rapidly getting higher birth rate than then as of now which is not life-threatening at all but it will become at any time.

      Well, economics cares about workforce. If Korea dont get the workforce to move their economy, their economy will collapse. By looking at facts and figures, foreigners will bring in labor that the country already is lacking. Rhere is plenty of history that shows that homogeneous societies will always find themselves in the same crossroad Korea is now.

    I'm a Mexican-American from the US. I used to want to move to Korea 15 years ago but ever since so many Kpop fans started to move there just to get themselves a Korean boyfriend/husband, I've been like nah. I don't want to move over there anymore because then people are going to think I'm just another delusional woman that is there to look for a boyfriend/husband and I'm not.
