In case Sierra reads this thread, you take done up jeans and just wrap around neck. If they fit the neck they fit the waist! also if you hole each leg by the end in your hands and stretch your arms out the length should match your arm span! Or you hold the waist at one shoulder and stretch a leg with one arm. If the leg is long enough then it should fit!
@@BC-bf9qs But the question (I think) is didn't all that extra fabric in the Neck look weird? I mean Ok she had her hair open but if you have a bit shorter hair it would probably be ugly right?
It looks pretty freakin good. Especially since its velvet they really do look like just a body con dress, I would never be like "....is that girl just wearing pants as a dress?!"
Gloom has reused the hack. She came across one of the OG videos from one of the channels owned by the same company as 5 min crafts, I can't remember which one. But Sierra was right about where it came from! Still great though!
The elastic for the jeans I feel like would actually be good like for when you’re at a restaurant and you’ve eaten too much and you gotta sit through more of the night haha.
pro tip for temporarily cropping sweaters and shirts: if you wear bras, tuck a tiny bit of the hem of the shirt up into the band of the bra. im on the smaller end of plus sizes and it works like a charm :)
I feel like the jean hack needed a disclaimer. The only way the jean hack could possibly work is if someone was as close as possible to their ideal bodyweight for their height etc. because it's not like when you gain weight, your elbow to wrist (forearm) ratio somehow magically gets longer or shorter. That would be completely illogical 🤷♀️
The hair tie and belt loop one has been a huge one for me recently- I’m coming up to 5 months pregnant and I’ve been using it to get some extra life out of my normal jeans and put off wearing maternity pants- I’m too big for it to work now but it was definitely a go to for me these last couple months
i1tabighug i was going to comment about how a lot of pregnant women use that hair tie hack! one of my friends did it when she was pregnant a few years ago and i thought it was genius!
Yes! This is a big hack for pregnant women. Something I used with both of my kids. I saved SO much money on maternity clothes this way. I actually HATE maternity jeans. They just felt weird. Plus the maternity jeans are not made for short or tall women (I'm 5'8). So I would get a small maternity jean that fit my width but the legs would be 2 inches to short lol. I know shorter girl that had the opposite happen. This hack allowed me to wear my jeans that are tailored long. HIGHLY recommend for girls that super short or tall that buy custom leg sizes. Its a hard retail market if you're not around 5'3-5'5 (national average height).
I had to laugh at the bra strap trick.... that's what I do when my straps are hurting my shoulders (big chested), but only around the house😉 LOL! BUT, I used the hair tie in the button of the jeans trick when I was pregnant (first trimester) and got a lot more "life" out of my regular pants!
I did the bra thing during high school when I had special events and had no strapless bra. I even went to an event with band aids covering my nipples because we could see the bra in back of the dress. Didn't have any nipple covers and I needed a solution fast. It worked! A real lifesaver haha 😅
Yes! Same!! It’s great for when you’re slightly too tight for your jeans but not quite to the point that you need full-on maternity clothes-also good for easing back into normal pants post-partum!! 🙌🏻💕
I feel like most of these styles are cute for a picture but as soon as you start doing something it would get messy or out of place and I would be aware of it all the time and wouldn't even be able to relax. (Anxious people unite) ✊🏽
It annoys me, but only because normally it won't color match for my outfits (being bigger I basically only own black and white bras). I just skip the bra in those cases, but that ticks some people off as well, so I guess you can never make everyone happy 😂
I have started searching for content with girls with curvier or not necessarily "model-like" bodies about a year ago. Sierra, with her charming personality, her smile and positive attitude helped my body confidence so much! Instead of watching girls with tiny waists (there is nothing wrong with that, I am just not made that way) and feel depressed, I started watching girls that looked more like me and started feeling better. Try it out, it could maybe help you as it did for me. Take care xx
Okay, so I totally had to try this, lol! It looks like a backless halter dress from the back, in the front you get a seam that goes up the middle, and one that runs under your breasts. It actually doesn't look bad. The biggest issue, is all the fabric from the leg around your neck, at the back of your neck (okay I used heavy velour leopard print pajama pants, thinner material may not be so bad) but...I pulled it over my hair like a hoodie, lol! I felt like a fat Shania Twain, lol, but it DID work, lmao!
I don’t think it does. It is simply aimed at another audience than overweight or underweight people. Everything on the human body (bone structure) is in a certain proportion so it works if you are in a somewhat “normal” or “proportional” range, not over or under.
It seems like a lot of these hacks are made for thin bodies, but then some don’t even make sense like the belt loop tuck 😅 and I know my girls with thicc thighs know that if jeans are too small in the waist they’re certainly too small in the thighs so that hack wouldn’t work either! There’s a guy on tiktok that tests all these hacks with his/his girlfriend’s clothes and they’re HILARIOUS
Hey sierra!!! I loved this! you should definitely do a pt.2! and I saw another jeans fit hack where you wrap the waist of your jeans around your neck and if it fits comfortably they should fit? You looked FREAKIN GORGEOUS in the button down shirt hack! I have broad shoulders and usually feel uncomfortable with off the shoulder tops, but I might try this one!
I found a way to "try on" pants without actually putting them on my body...hold the pants by the side seams at the waistband, and place one seam at your centre-front waist (belly-button) and the other seam at your centre-back waist (spine); to "test fit" the hip area of the pants, hold the pants by the side seams at the widest part of the pants, place one seam at centre-front(in line with your belly-button) of your widest part, and the other seam at centre-back(approximately your tailbone) of your widest part. If the pants overlap your centre-seam areas, there is a good chance they will fit comfortably. As a wheelie, it's not always possible to try on garments instore, and I found this works about 75 - 80% of the time, depending on the style of pants. The pants-to-dress hack looked great on you. Next time you have to go anywhere that you need to pack for multiple occasions, it'll be so much easier...and you can take a smaller bag 'coz you'll only need half as many clothes...bonus! ;) maybe just move the waistband up a little higher up on your back, to take some of the strain off your neck(?)... :))
Nobody can actually fully use their other body parts to get waist size right but the most accurate one I've come across is the waistband around the neck hack - if the waistband fits around your neck it will fit your waist (worked on all my friends plus myself, and we're all diff sizes - ofc this might be different for other sizes and maybe we got lucky, but it's hella useful for thrifting or no dressing room boutiques and stuff if it works for you :DD)
After years of seeing youtubers sponsor threadup, I'm finally giving it a try with your code. I'm a man, but I'm short and generally believe that if you only shop the men's section (or women's section if you're a woman) then you're seriously missing out. Ordered a button up jumpsuit, and I hope I end up liking it!
i am still in shock that the pant one works so naturally i have to go try it lol also i love you sierra and since i started watching your videos my self confidence has really gone up :) (especially when it comes to my body image)
About the jeans hack, you have to your hand too! I know the tiktok showed not too, but that's what I do and it's worked 100% of the time! It's my go to if I'm in a rush
I learned from my mom to hold up clothes against my body. The ends should meet the middle of the side of your body if it fits. If it ends before the middle, closer to your bellybutton, it'll be too small. Past the middle is too big.
I think what I love most about Sierra is that she is out here growing with us. Learning to be confident, with curves curly hair anything and honestly she looks gorgeous. I also love that she tells us when she is not feeling as confident, because we all need to hear this. Nobody is confident all the time. I feel like she is my friend hyping me up, but I'm also her friend hyping her up.
A bunch of these hacks are so old! I swear I read most of them in seventeen magazine in the early 2000's and have done most them way back in high school. Still a cute video though and those pants as a dress were a shocker! You looked so cute!
fr??? ewwww shein sucks youtubers have been getting sponsored by them lately and the clothes were 100% made in sweatshops in china. that’s why it takes so long to get the clothes.
The bra hack worked for me when I was maybe in highschool and had like a B cup, but totally wouldn’t work with my DD rack I am working with these days! 😂
The hair tie on the button on the pants is a perfect pregnancy hack. Did it with all of my kids to hold out on maternity pants. Works week for a growing belly!
I said on Lisbug’s and I’ll say it here. You shouldn’t be promoting this company. Thredup cheats people, especially sellers who often really need the money. 30% off is standard for first time customers without “Sierra” code.
Thank you I am glad someone said it, I use to send them my clothes all the ti.e and would be penny's for new thing with tags, it was ridiculous, I stopped sending them and either donate or sell on poshmark now
Yours is only one perspective. I am committed to reuse and I use ThredUp. If you do not want to sell your clothes to ThredUp, use another reseller or donate them to the local Goodwill, et al. As a customer, I really need the money I save by using ThredUp which has the merchandise I am looking for at the prices I want to pay. My local thrift stores charge more for similar items than ThredUp.
sheshickey just one you say? www.bbb.org/us/ca/oakland/profile/online-shopping/thredup-inc-1116-381201/complaints There’s lots of ways to reuse without using a company who literally lies and steals from people.
@@sheshickey sorry but without ppl like us sending our new or used clothes to thredup, you won't be able to buy from them, they need to be fair to both sellers and buyers, not just one sided, they are notorious for not being good to their sellers, and until you are a seller to thredup, then you shouldnt have an opinion that side of things
That “jean hack” has been a Huge thing in Hispanic tamiles (possibly other families as well). But like you said it’s about proportions. I have thighs and a butt. It has never worked for me but it works for my mom.
one of my favorite ways to “tuck in” a shirt is to twirl the middle around your finger a few times in the front then either tuck into your bra for a cropped look or into your pants for less cropped i hope someone uses this :)
2 hacks just in General: 1 I have heard that your foot is the same length as your forearm.this is true for me. 2, If you hold your jeans up, and can wrap the waste around your neck, the pants will fit. This one also tends to work for me. (I hope I explained how it works well)
Lol I’ve done the bra strap tuck method since middle school 😂😂 “If you only wear a bra so your nipples don’t show” 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️ it me. Definitely doesn’t work for a larger busted gal.
Nah, I've done this a bunch of times and I'm pretty large chested. The "standard" guideline for bras I've heard is that 80% should be supported by the band, only 20% from the straps. (For softcup ones/no-underwire bras, it's muchn harder /not possible to get to that 80% most of the time).
Nathalie Blais I guess but I don’t want to wear nipple covers every day 😂😂 I also have triangle shaped boobs so it’s very pronounced if I don’t have a bra on hahah
@@keila347 I was looking for someone who commented this! When she put the straps down and her boobs dropped the first thing I thought was: oh girl, you're wearing the wrong size.. If the band is the right size then your bra should stay up even without the straps. Ofcourse it feels better and more secure with the straps but it should stay up without them if the sizing is right. I am a 70G (I think that is a 32G outside of Europe?) And my mom is a 95 G (42G) and we can both do this hack without any problems (and my mom is 60 so her breasts aren't naturally staying up without a bra 😋)

Hi Sierra you are a big inspiration to me
You know what doesn't change when I gain or lose weight? The length of my forearm....
Hahaha yes that made no sense
Had the same thought 😂
Lifting weights actually help me w that :) Deadlifts too!
Yeah i think the better word would be “petite” people who are just naturally smaller in height and weight
Aqilah's Dead that doesn’t change the length of your arm bones though...
After seeing the arm jean "hack", I'm curious if you've ever tried the waist around the neck trick??
Yes! The neck "hack" works for me no matter what size I am. Would love to see if that works for Sierra too.
YAAASSS I was just about to comment this, it works for me perfectly!

My question is what did the back of the “dress” look in the pants hack?

And what is about the sawed parts of the pants? (I am not native english, I don't know how to describe it properly, sorry.)

Putting the waistband of your jeans around your neck works so much better. X
Yessss I've been doing that ever since my grandma taught me about it and it works every time.
I do the hair tie around the button after lunch when I need some room to breathe but don't want my coworkers to notice 😂
i love the cross-front tuck-in shirt hack! it works really well for me
i am still in shock that the pant one works so naturally i have to go try it lol
also i love you sierra and since i started watching your videos my self confidence has really gone up :) (especially when it comes to my body image)
About the jeans hack, you have to your hand too! I know the tiktok showed not too, but that's what I do and it's worked 100% of the time! It's my go to if I'm in a rush
I was just binge watching some of Sierra's other videos 😆
I never been so excited to see a video pop up!
The velvet pants/dress on you gave me major 90s vibes and Im living for that
i lost count of how many times she said "Thred-up" 😂😭
Such a shame we don’t have anything like Thred Up in the UK. I would be on there all the time!! Great video as always Sierra x
I learned from my mom to hold up clothes against my body. The ends should meet the middle of the side of your body if it fits. If it ends before the middle, closer to your bellybutton, it'll be too small. Past the middle is too big.
Hold them to the front of you..
@@lumewarm If you're a plus sized person you would need to allow more length... But I get where you are coming from
I think what I love most about Sierra is that she is out here growing with us. Learning to be confident, with curves curly hair anything and honestly she looks gorgeous. I also love that she tells us when she is not feeling as confident, because we all need to hear this. Nobody is confident all the time. I feel like she is my friend hyping me up, but I'm also her friend hyping her up.
Yesss! A new Sierra Schultzzie Video!!!!
That madewell sweater is everything!
I don’t know we’re your finding cute clothes because all I see is raggedy ish on ThredUP
Literally same, I never found anything I loved, and all the decent stuff was still way overpriced.
I use thredup all the time to find work clothes. Haven't had any issues so far. I usually use the search function and filter out a bunch of stuff
A bunch of these hacks are so old! I swear I read most of them in seventeen magazine in the early 2000's and have done most them way back in high school. Still a cute video though and those pants as a dress were a shocker! You looked so cute!
Your hair looks stunning! It has looked better in every video
Sierra - your curls are looking SO PRETTY! Killing the curly girl method!
Bro, thred up literally takes thrift store finds and sells them for retail price. Someone even got something from Shein in their box.
fr??? ewwww shein sucks youtubers have been getting sponsored by them lately and the clothes were 100% made in sweatshops in china. that’s why it takes so long to get the clothes.
I thought their prices seemed whack.
Omg the pants turned into a dress looked AMAZING!!!!!
The bra hack worked for me when I was maybe in highschool and had like a B cup, but totally wouldn’t work with my DD rack I am working with these days! 😂
Nothing makes me happier than a new Sierra upload.
“This is not what Fergie meant when she said lovely lady lumps” 😂😂😂
The hair tie on the button on the pants is a perfect pregnancy hack. Did it with all of my kids to hold out on maternity pants. Works week for a growing belly!
I said on Lisbug’s and I’ll say it here. You shouldn’t be promoting this company. Thredup cheats people, especially sellers who often really need the money. 30% off is standard for first time customers without “Sierra” code.
Thank you I am glad someone said it, I use to send them my clothes all the ti.e and would be penny's for new thing with tags, it was ridiculous, I stopped sending them and either donate or sell on poshmark now
And that's the reason I gave thumb down on this video :/// Like really... Would be great if Sierra would check companies before promoting them.
The flannel shirt outfit suits you so well! That crop looks amazing
That “jean hack” has been a Huge thing in Hispanic tamiles (possibly other families as well). But like you said it’s about proportions. I have thighs and a butt. It has never worked for me but it works for my mom.
I love Tread Up! Plus the tissue paper is so cute🌸
Yeah my forearm length hasn’t changed much while I’ve gained weight. 😂
OMG! I had to stop the video to say that the restyled plaid top was gorgeous on you!! Your tummy is so cute!!
I was literally going to buy from ThredUp like yesterday! Sierra always knows...
I use the hair tie buttonhole extender hack when I’m a little bloated.
The baggy pants/body con dress hack was great, I want to try it myself!
one of my favorite ways to “tuck in” a shirt is to twirl the middle around your finger a few times in the front then either tuck into your bra for a cropped look or into your pants for less cropped i hope someone uses this :)
The belt and sweater thing my mom used to do for me when I was a teen. I really enjoyed it.
I love that dress, where did you got it from? - sierra: it's my sweatpants xD
Love the flannel trick for off the shoulder
2 hacks just in General: 1 I have heard that your foot is the same length as your forearm.this is true for me. 2, If you hold your jeans up, and can wrap the waste around your neck, the pants will fit. This one also tends to work for me. (I hope I explained how it works well)
karbazaar This works for me too! Thanks!
Omggg the velvet pants aa a dress looks amazing on you! ❤
Lol I’ve done the bra strap tuck method since middle school 😂😂
“If you only wear a bra so your nipples don’t show” 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️ it me.
Kali Mcc isn’t that what nipple covers are for?
I've been doing that hairtie pants-too-tight 'hack' since forever. LOL!
It’s funny because some of these “hacks” were ones we did in the 80’s and 90’s...
Omg the body con black velvet is so great on you!
who else is early and is trying to think of a clever comment but can't 😬
Debbie thornberry vibes from the flannel / crop look!
nobody:
literally nobody:
me, a man who dresses masuline: i n c h r e s t i n g
The maeve denim striped top you got from thredup is really flattering on you!
omg I should have seen this video coming lol!
You are a very positive woman and you comment everything just great, being honest about what things are like. You are fantastic !❤
