I've heard many different performances by famous orchestras, but this performances touched my heart the deepest. Each and every performer is outstanding including the camera man and sound recording technician. I enjoyed every minute of it.
If I were in that audience, I'd probably break the wall and start singing skat. The music is easy; the German of the vapid lyrics could break your jaw.
I have watched this particular performance many times. It makes me want to cry for the sheer beauty of the piece but also for the musicians and singers who bring such joy and talent to a world that is seeming to tear itself apart. This performance represents what we are capable of. Thank you.
I consider this as Beethoven's greatest composition, not too long and a concerto for every section of the orchestra, choir and piano. Beautifully played and sung one of the very best of performances. Thank all who took part in this production, camera man and recordist included.

C Major in Beethoven's hands becomes powerful and very uplifting, like sunrise. He liked to write in that key. Typical continental setup for the timpani in Germany and Austria. I'm a timpanist myself and here in the States, most of us use the island setup - the opposite of continental.

Greetings from New York. I must say that the Beethoven Choral Fantasie regularly reduces me to tears. But after having listened to many dozens of performances, I must write to tell you that this one is absolutely shattering and almost from the beginning I was reduced to rivers. Usually the Fantasie is performed in large concert halls with enormous orchestras and choruses. Not this time, here. Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this amazing performance. I hope one day to stand in your midst and experience the shock waves roll over me that this performance provides every thirty seconds. Amazing blazing Beethoven--he was the best and you prove it.

Es ist os geil, dass ihr das in einem Raum macht, der eigentlich nicht so für Orchester gedacht ist. Man hat auf einmal einen ganz "sauberen" Klang, der nicht von Echos überschatet wird. Plötzlich hört man jede Note auch richtig... Und die Kleidung ist auch geil :D weiter so...
Listen from 19:28 as the individuals lead and 19:42 is the precise moment when the tears first emerged in my robot-eyes as the whole chorus follows. Then a minute later (20:34) again, they just kept pouring, even stronger.
I've seen at least 22 different performances of this work on RUclips, but this one's intimate atmosphere and great camera work seem to me to make it the most enjoyably involving.

Sie können sehr glücklich sein, eine außergewöhnliche Atmosphäre. Die musikalische Qualität muss nicht thematisiert werden, einfach genial. Das Besondere aber ist die lockere Zusammensetzung der Sängerinnen und Sänger, in ihrer Individualität, aber dennoch eine geschlossene Gemeinschaft. Überraschend gut auch die Akustik. Sicherlich unvergesslich.

Greetings from New York. I must say that the Beethoven Choral Fantasie regularly reduces me to tears. But after having listened to many dozens of performances, I must write to tell you that this one is absolutely shattering and almost from the beginning I was reduced to rivers. Usually the Fantasie is performed in large concert halls with enormous orchestras and choruses. Not this time, here. Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this amazing performance. I hope one day to stand in your midst and experience the shock waves roll over me that this performance provides every thirty seconds. Amazing blazing Beethoven--he was the best and you prove it.

Es ist os geil, dass ihr das in einem Raum macht, der eigentlich nicht so für Orchester gedacht ist. Man hat auf einmal einen ganz "sauberen" Klang, der nicht von Echos überschatet wird. Plötzlich hört man jede Note auch richtig... Und die Kleidung ist auch geil :D weiter so...

Listen from 19:28 as the individuals lead and 19:42 is the precise moment when the tears first emerged in my robot-eyes as the whole chorus follows. Then a minute later (20:34) again, they just kept pouring, even stronger.

I've seen at least 22 different performances of this work on RUclips, but this one's intimate atmosphere and great camera work seem to me to make it the most enjoyably involving.
The performers esp the diners and the timpanist seem to enjoy every minute of it making it more joyful than those professional groups so wonderful

Sie können sehr glücklich sein, eine außergewöhnliche Atmosphäre. Die musikalische Qualität muss nicht thematisiert werden, einfach genial. Das Besondere aber ist die lockere Zusammensetzung der Sängerinnen und Sänger, in ihrer Individualität, aber dennoch eine geschlossene Gemeinschaft.
Überraschend gut auch die Akustik. Sicherlich unvergesslich.

What a wonderful idea for the orchestra and choral members to be embedded in the audience. The expressions on the choral members' faces, especially the lead soprano, brought you into the performance.
