Merci pour ce joli cadeau matinal et ravie de vous revoir sur scène en nous emmenant vers l’écoute d’anciennes sonorités boisées à la fois surprenantes et plaisantes, sur instruments d’époque en interprétant cette jolie Choral Fantasy in C-minor, op. 80.
Très jolie était l’interprétation récente à Berlin en décembre 2023 du Triple concerto et de la Fantaisie de Ludwig ! ☺
Tout s’annonçait ce matin gris et pluvieux mais dès les premières mesures de cette Fantaisie, la journée est devenue tout à coup lumineuse. Joliment filmée, j’aime particulièrement l’accalmie vers 10:10 où plus loin chantent avec votre âme et toute votre poésie, d’innombrables trilles où bassons et violoncelle souriant, vous rejoignent. Puis s’élance avec votre énergie folle, la fantaisie enthousiaste des choeurs qui font valser nos coeurs ! Merci pour l’intégralité de cette douce Romance de Rachmaninov dessinée et chantée à six mains, sans se heurter, du grave vers le sublime aigu. Un Trio magnifique à Varsovie ! ☺
Sur l’air qu’il vous plaira d’écouter ou de jouer passionnément …. Pianissimo, fortissimo, sostenuto … Je vous souhaite une Belle & Heureuse année 2024, Bruce, pleine de douceur aussi vivifiante qu’une Rhapsody in Blue Jazzy, baroque ou Classique…! pourvu qu’elle chante en vous ! Qu’elle vous procure toujours de belles sensations et l’envie de jouer ! pour faire naître sous vos doigts légers de jolies notes exquises, véloces à souhait, sautillantes, brillantes au caractère grisant, insolent, fantastique et romantique. Un vrai feu follet narratif que nous saurons cueillir et garder contre notre coeur. I love the sound of this Erard piano. The sound it produces is very clear like bells and the tone quality between the treble and the base is more homogeneous than a modern grand piano which is kind of refreshing to listen to. Remember the Erard is the type of piano that Liszt would play on. I thought Bruce did a great job in playing the Beethoven Choral Fantasy in C minor on this period instrument.
You pretend to know a lot about this piano,yet you succeed in write "Erad", twice!, instead of "Erard".
@@thepianocornertpcI don’t pretend to know this piano very well. Indeed this is the first time I’ve ever heard a performance on a Erard period instrument. I expressed my thoughts from what I heard from this video. Thank you for correcting my typo. I’ve changed the spelling.

I think how a pianist plays on the period piano to produce sound makes a difference and Bruce handled it well producing a full, rounded, beautiful tone!
Yes it really sounds like a harpsichord which is perfect for the Beethoven piece. Really transports you back in time.
Bruce L's performance terrific...you could imagine. how much more powerful it would sound on Steinway 😊

Petite suite : en écoutant maintes fois cette fantaisie depuis hier, mille bravo pour ce magnifique thème et variations étourdissantes, dialoguant joliment dans l’adagio, le final allegro, entre ce charmant piano Erard, violons, alti, contrebasses, clarinettes, hautbois, bassons, trompettes, timbales et le sublime allegretto ma non troppo du choeur qui s'envole crescendo. Sourires, inspirations, lyrisme concertant, menés à la baguette presque magique du Maestro Vaclav Luks ! Bravissimo !

I saw Roger Norrington and Melvin Ran do this with the London Classical Players on period instruments at the height of the period instrument movement, at SUNY Purchase. That was quite a delight and this is similarly wonderful. Not among my favorite Beethoven works, but in the right hands - as now - it is extremely compelling. Thanks for a great performance!

très bien interprété.(rythme et choeur restreint)..... mais....! la qualité sonore des pianos a énormément évolué depuis dans le bon sens et heureusement (Yamaha et Steinway)
Hmm, I guess when you are composing a piece to fit a requirement - 6 hands at one piano - the music is not surprisingly that wonderful.

This is an astonishing performance by everyone but the applause?? It has to have been added after for some reason as it is totally different acoustically to the rest of the work and sounds horrible
What a horrible intro, neither majestic nor musical
I listened to Bruce's rendition in Dec 2023. This periodic instrument probably is less able to produce the grand and dark blend of sound.
