Totally agree that Malbec from Argentina deserves more credit and popularity just like the well-made Zin from California. Both varieties pair well with heavy, oily grilled red meat. Interesting though, I enjoyed the cheaper Malbec by Catena more than their pricey wines.
I don’t think you can find the 2013 Ridge anymore, certainly not for $35-$45. I picked up 3 bottles of the 2018 for $65. I will let the wine age for another 3 years before opening. Thank you for the recommendations. 🍷
Unfortunately, Ridge wines like many premium producers have been escalating prices annually it seems. Follow the pricing of classified Bordeaux and Burgundy, Piedmonte and other super premiums. Their prices have soared and it’s a big problem for the wine industry because of falling per capita consumption of wine. You might be able to find the 2013 Ridge Estate at auction. I still have a full case of 1.5L and a couple of bottles of the 2013 Estate. That was a great buy! Good Luck!
Catena is in the bag. Start with 6 bottles, see how I like it. I left the engine of the truck running in case a pallet is needed 🚚 Great price! Just under 14€ here in the Netherlands

I backed the truck up on the Catena, can't wait to try it this weekend. Thanks for the recommendation! Greetings from Quebec!
Can’t wait for your comment on the Catena.
Seems this catena is made for US market only. Even in argentina I could not find it. Gotta go to US soon....lol

Are you sure it’s the Catena Malbec La Consulta that’s 14E’s? If so great price. The regular Malbec might sell for that price.
It is. La consulta 2020. €13,85 tax included. Okay, now I can’t wait to get a taste! 🚚💨
@@wmvangemeren Great price! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Wow Tom, this is great! Smooth, silky, luscious. Stewed plums. I love it! Great p/q. Thx for the tip. I’m definitely loading up on this gem 👌🏻
@@wmvangemeren Glad you enjoyed it. Trying to share the passion.
None of the suggested wine are available in Ontario sadly
THIS Catena wine is unfortunately not available in Switzerland!:-(
is the only way to get that ambassadors 1953 vineyard hanzell to become a wine club member?
From time to time a few bottles show up at the wine auctions. I brought a 1.5L Ambassador 2007 a couple of years ago.
