  • This is a preview video from the online Couture Beading & Embellishment Course Part 1. In this video I demonstrate how to frame up silk organza, this is an important part of the process to ensure the fabric is tight like a drum ready for beading. This is where the word 'tambour' comes from, which means drum in French.

And how I can tambour material to be used for garments, I would like to tambour embroider a large piece of fabric running down the side of my body. Does one need a frame for this? Is there a way to frame the material without having to stitch it with thread and a needle?

Unfortunately not, this is the way it is done in industry and the most effective at keeping the fabric straight to the grain
