Depends...But the Kawasaki M9's are supposed to like the Kawasaki M8 replaced the M2's M4's & M6's. However they did keep a 24 units pair of M2's for emergency contingency fleet.
Their no third rail over the crossing points train have to hold speed over the points and can't move the handle or they will slow down and stop and will need to be move by another train the same thing go for train washes
On the weekdays Monday - Friday , Metro North run 4 trains coming from & going to Wassaic. On The Weekends Saturday & Sunday however , Metro North runs 1 train coming from & going to Wassaic.
these trains come like every 10 seconds, and its odd too because these have to stop at stations so the train behind the other train might crash or something. Some trains run express too?
The train did stop at the station & some station on Metro North Railroad, stations like Valhalla, can hold a certain amount of train cars in a station. Valhalla Station can hold 6 Cars in total.
It part of the horn sequence operators do One long Another long One short And one more long until they pass over the crossing. Some driver will hold the horn longer or sometime the horn will have a slight delay of going quiet Also, the train station is just north of the crossing. Metro North trains mainly sound the horn when passing or stopping at stations to warning passengers. Metro North's Peekskill Station is another example of this.
1365Amtrak I live near the Croton-Harmon station and this is one of the two basic types of horn I hear. So does Metro North use the Leslie S2M and Amtrak whatever the other horn is that usually has 4 or 5 chimes in sort of a major chord?
If You Mean The Valhalla Train Crash On February 3, 2015 , No This Is Not The Sight Of The Crash. See I Was At The Cleveland Street Crossing , The Sight Of The Crash Happened At The Commerce Street Crossing Which Is 1.3 Miles From Where I Was.
Video brings to mind when I had near-fatal heart attack at a local gym and open heart surgery at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla - That was July 15, 2010 = HOW TIME FLIES like a BULLET TRAIN!
Metro-North has dual-mode locomotives that can be switched between diesel and electric operation. The railroad also uses catenary on the New Haven Line.
Most tracks north of North White Plains don’t have a third rail, so Diesel engines are necessary. Some diesel run as though trains to Manhattan sometimes.
The Weather Man So do the Metro North trains use the Leslie S2M and the Amtraks use whatever the horn is that has 4 or 5 chimes and sounds in sort of a major chord?
The Weather Man Cool abbreviations there! Sometimes you only end up hearing 4 chimes, is that just because the 5th is sometimes obscured by the 1st, or is it a different horn?
These train tra c ks arent like the LIRR whrre the Metro is quiet and not very good sounding in my opinion though the lirr tracks have a satisfying sound especially in RR crossings
I used to watch this when I was about 6-7, now I’m 14.
Time flies, but this video still hits the same. :)
I came here looking for the afterlife, but I’ll happily do trains any day...
The Harlem Line sure does have a lot of great action during the rush hour!
2:30 Hey Fantech Did You Herd A Bombardier M7A Train Has A M1 Horn
I love your channel!!
9:42 horn from the rear cab of the train
Depends...But the Kawasaki M9's are supposed to like the Kawasaki M8 replaced the M2's M4's & M6's. However they did keep a 24 units pair of M2's for emergency contingency fleet.
Have you ever been to the Mount Kisco station? Cause I railfaned there during rush hour and it's a good place to see trains.
7:38 how come the camera is between the tracks? I bet the railroad does not approve! Oh.. my bad. It’s a station.
2:32 bro this sounded like an M3A or M1. How did an M7A horn get that bad?
Fouled probably
What About The Car Number?
Those Rail fanning LIRR trains are just waiting to cause an accident due to the tracks being unbalanced. : 0
2:30 That M7 had an M1 horn!
Wow that so cool

Excellent catches of Metro North trains 916 at 1:04 920 at 5:03 & 926 at 7:10
What do these Trains have in common? There all diesel.
A: They’re diverse compared to all of the lame electrics.
B: You can mix up different cars to make up a train.
C: They’re more comfortable to ride on.
How do they deal with the third rail at crossings
What do you mean?
Their no third rail over the crossing points train have to hold speed over the points and can't move the handle or they will slow down and stop and will need to be move by another train the same thing go for train washes
Awesome video! I loved the crossing shots!
2:31 M7A with a M1 horn
On the weekdays Monday - Friday , Metro North run 4 trains coming from & going to Wassaic. On The Weekends Saturday & Sunday however , Metro North runs 1 train coming from & going to Wassaic.
Current MTA weekend schedule shows many trains from and to Wassaic on the weekends.
Cats01 but those end at southeast only 1 goes to grand central
1365Amtrak nice but does that mean only 4 trains?
During the weekdays only.
1365Amtrak I 89
Also from watching some more videos it seems like the trains themselves sound different as well as their horns
They do from time to time.
Thanks so much for posting and sharing such an amazing video.
Your welcome.

how often do they run P32s to Wassic and back
Locomotive Josh only during rush hours
these trains come like every 10 seconds, and its odd too because these have to stop at stations so the train behind the other train might crash or something. Some trains run express too?
during rush hours, Metro North has express trains running, especially the diesel trains.
5:57 double train.
Inscrita no Canal...boa tarde e muitas saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷
At 2:32 that was an m1 horn
It was a Fouled Leslie RS2M
0:14 Kinda sounds like the Toronto Rocket from the Toronto Transit Commission
On the last couple of stops, what is that high pitched whine that changes pitch at arrive and depart??
If you mean the sounds of the M7 rail cars, that's just the train's propulsion sound.
at 8:06 was the train stopping at a station. If it did then shouldn't all the train cars be exactly on the platform?
The train did stop at the station & some station on Metro North Railroad, stations like Valhalla, can hold a certain amount of train cars in a station. Valhalla Station can hold 6 Cars in total.
Are MN EMUs the same as LIRR EMUs?
They are but with a few minor details in certain places between the two. The colors are just one out of a few other examples.
Chugga chuggaa choo choo - Im a train and I approve this video :D!
Tyler Mac this world is for the trains too and I know just how too build them
At 2:32 sounds like and old Leslie !
That is what the horns are
Nah, its just VERY fouled.. it does sound like the M1 horn tho. :p
M7a's with a Leslie S44 horn, from a Budd M1
Once again, it's a fouled RS2M
Why do they blast their horn even though they've already crossed the crossing? Great video, greetings from Argentina!
It part of the horn sequence operators do
One long
Another long
One short
And one more long until they pass over the crossing. Some driver will hold the horn longer or sometime the horn will have a slight delay of going quiet

Metro North's Peekskill Station is another example of this.
@@1365Amtrak thank you!
1:18 what type of horn is this
Metro North commonly uses Leslie S2M Horns.
John Knox 我23要7
1365Amtrak I live near the Croton-Harmon station and this is one of the two basic types of horn I hear. So does Metro North use the Leslie S2M and Amtrak whatever the other horn is that usually has 4 or 5 chimes in sort of a major chord?
Comets and shore liners have rs2ms, the emus have s2ms, and the p32s k5las
@@patmeaden doesn't the cab cars uses the S2M horn, man I'm confused. But the EMUs does sound like an S2M.
I usually don't see M7A's with Leslie S44 Horn that often.

I love trains I do know know how to drive trains
4:31
Metro North has certain trains that run only third rail and others that can do both?
Metro North M7's & M3's have 3rd rail power , Diesels such as the P32AC-DM have 3rd rail & diesel power.
1365Amtrak these trains look like those LIRR models, well some of them at least.
Yes
Did the second p32 have a horn tap
Yes, it did.
Is this where the vahala train took

WHAT HORNS ARE THESE
Leslie S2M
The Weather Man So do the Metro North trains use the Leslie S2M and the Amtraks use whatever the horn is that has 4 or 5 chimes and sounds in sort of a major chord?
Amtrak commonly uses the K5LA Horns nowadays. K5LA
K = Kettle Drum Principle
5 = five chime
L = Low Mount
A = American Tuned
The Weather Man Cool abbreviations there! Sometimes you only end up hearing 4 chimes, is that just because the 5th is sometimes obscured by the 1st, or is it a different horn?
Leslie RS2M or S2M and S44
M7, M3, GE
Is it diesel?
If you refer to the M7 railcars, theyre not
M3's , M7's Bombardier Shoreliners
