Same, I used to live in NYC when I was much younger, me and my mother would always take the train to see my grandpa out on long island, this the station I really miss because it just has a nice feel to it especialy in the winter, idk why but I'm upset mineola is being changed, it holds a special place in my heart.

I've been filming trains since the early 80's, and from Mineola..... You're style of filming doesn't show the true speed the train is traveling until it's right on top of you !.... Just a little advice ....... I like to see them come in fast !

Awesome catches, quick question. Last week I was going around town and I was near a railroad (I was in bay shore near that station) then out of nowhere a freighting train came by, That freight company (forgot) Any idea why it passed?
It went by because the Long Island railroad can't carry freight any more because in the past they took all the gp and f units out for scrap metal.it's only the m units
How I miss the old LIRR rolling stock. The M7's are a little too cramped for my tastes. And the C3 double deckers are like being packed in like sardines. And let's face it. The DM30 diesels are downright ugly. The P72 passenger cars were much more roomier than the new M7's. All the while being pulled by the tried and true GP-38's, MP-15's and the ever popular FL9's. How I wish they would bring those back.

This will always be the Mineola I associate with. Nostalgia now that the crossings are gone (and NASSAU Tower), and the 3rd Track is there.

ride the lirr everyday to work. I think I was on one of the evening trains to woodside then I took a port Washington branch train to flushing main.
