My father and I saw Al Unser Jr. WiN in a Sprint car at a dirt track near my home. He WON the heat race and the main event and 3 years later he was racing in the Indy 500, Great !

I was a big Al Jr. fan. Always modest and honest about his drives. Loved watching him race.

My count is more WINS first and with 3 WINS in the IRL that is IRL/ Indycar 36 total. Al Unser Jr, B.Unser and Al Unser has more WINS than the media says. All 3 drivers are Great drivers my favorite than especially Al Unser and Jr. Both raced at the dirt track by my home in a Sprint car before, he started in Indycar. I have followed them the racing family all my life. They WON the Indy 500 9 times as a family No. 1. I know you know racing as I do. Thank you for the video he gave Al Unser Jr. credit for his WINS.

I was at his last career win at an IRL race at Texas Motor Speedway. It was a special moment for me as I had been watching him since I was a kid. Very sad to hear his ex-wife Shelley passed away from a lung infection. She was always there with him at every race I saw from Long Beach to Indianapolis to Laguna Seca. R.I.P.

Agree if only Al could escape his demons of Alcoholism because he was so good and he seemed like a really cool dude.

My favorite driver. Great racer. His driving style kind of reminds me of alan prost. Loved the battles against jacques villeneuve.

Al Jr. was my fav racing driver when I was growing up and watching Indycar in the 90's. These were some great races. He could have won the '95 championship if it wasn't for some unfortunate crashes, not his fault (Toronto, Road America) and mechanical issues (Cleveland).
