Love him or hate him the series was never dull when Paul Tracy was around. A true win or bust racer. Though I have no idea how his career survived Houston 1998.
That's why I quit watching the "Indy 500". It was just Tony's 500. I KNEW that because Castro Nuts was an IRL boy, Tony George would take the win away from Tracy.
Regardless of how you look at 2002, Helios face is there... oh and it's there 4 times also. And he really dogged tf out of Tracy last year I was wheezing
What a disgrace only 20 comments for an all time great. If only Paul would have listened to the team managers, and didn't go buckwild in the early days he'd probably be the GOAT. PT. Is a great commentator and loved him on Super Cars.
funny how michael andretti also used that same livery for years but was never able to get a 2nd title using it (i guess da matta got the seat at the best time possible as teams like penske and chip ganassi decided to go to irl instead)
@@charliesmith5545 Agreed but he also ran his best season in his career. He was finishing instead of wrecking and going for it 24/7. I've listened to his interviews and he basically said "I raced to win a title" and finally won one. lol

The thrill from west hill and still the 2002 Indy 500 winner to most fans!

@@lonewolf2513 that just makes it worse in retrospective, helio wouldnt be any less with 3 indy 500 wins instead of 4
Hey as big fan of Paul's I want to say a huge thank you for putting this together and sharing!
The Indycars of the 90's are so much more impressive than the cars of today, and that's a sad fact that's actually an opinion.
You might be in the minority now given safety standards
I enjoyed this , thanks for posting. As a Canuck , i sure miss that era of Indy Car.

Paul's 1995 paint scheme might be my favorite among Newman Haas cars. Cristiano da Matta's championship winning Havoline car is a close second.
+Nathan Stroud His 95' car is currently the background on my computer.

His 2003 season was brilliant.
That was the first year of hardly any competition. After the 2000 season CART started going downhill

@@charliesmith5545 So to me? He could have been a champion multiple times but he just kinda... wanted to race, man.
As a Canadian open wheel fan... Its a good video!
I remember watching Paul Tracy late in the 90s he won a lot of champion ship.
AGUANTE PAUL TRACY EL MEJOR
And 2006
From Canadian to American
fell of a mountain bike, lol he crashed a go cart
LOL! I had to laugh when Paul Page said that!
Ele deveria ganhar as 500 milhas em 2002 mas era tarde demais
