    I don't see how anyone can dislike a great video like this. Jack Brisco was a role model not only to we Native people, but Americans in general...

    Jack Brisco is my favorite Native American wrestler because he didn't trade on Indian stereotypes nor the culture . There is nothing wrong with wearing something inspired by your ethnicity but I never really liked seeing war bonnets on everyone and all of them called chief . Chief is something to take seriously . Jack showed that we are American people ; not stereotypes .

      Jack Brisco really disliked wrestlers using the Native gimmick who weren’t of the culture like the man who wrestled for many years under his real name Joe Frank Scarpa but didn’t hit his stride until he took on the gimmick of Chief Jay Strongbow. Scarpa was actually Italian

    There were plenty of legit tough guys in the 70's. Bob Roop, Bruiser Brody, Harley Race, Wahoo McDaniel, Bruno Sammartino, Ernie Ladd, Don Jardine etc But Jack Brisco was possibly the toughest. Two time Big Eight Champion, NCAA D1 Champion and was never taken down in that season. He could of gone on to do greater things in amateur wrestling but chose the pro game.

    • @johnj3281
      @johnj3281 2 года назад

      Brody & the Spoiler (Don Jardine) were tuffer than Jack, in my opinion, during their prime....However what made Jack a "World Champion" was his conditioning and scientific knowhow in the ring. When I first saw Brisco in Fort Worth in the late 60's, I saw something unique in him. His match with the Spoiler in '79 was an afterthought.
