- This project started as an idea for a charging station, and took on a life of its own as I started designing, then modeling it out in Fusion 360. The finished product is a beautiful shallow set of stackable desk trays made from Sapele, Maple, and Maple plywood. I had so much fun on this project!

Thanks for the encouragement Darin! I had never worked with Sapele before so I was really hoping it looked nice when finished. It didn’t disappoint! Plus it smells great while you are milling it.

Thank you!! Those renders are what got me so excited, but it took forever to get enough time to get the build, and video, and plans done, haha.
Very well done video, and the final result from the build was just beautiful. Now the key is not to overstuff the trays with paper so you can still see their beauty, ha ha!
Haha! Yes, my plan was the shallow boxes and beauty would have me keeping them empty. Yup. It’s not working out like that AT ALL! At least the sides are still visible. Thanks for the kind words!
Doug, your video was great. The monologue wasn’t to stale, and the sound was consistent through. I also though you did a good job of balancing your shots so I didn’t get lost in what you were explaining and showing. I also though the thumbnail on your video was perfect with the reflect. Never seen the straw trick to clean glue out, I'll definitely give that a try.
