Hey Ashley! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I'm scrolling through YT Studio beta, and seeing all the comments I failed to respond too… yikes! Hope you are doing well.
You've got an old feel to your videos that is really comforting. Yet, you've got some great new elements like 3D rendering in there. All of it just keeps me coming back for more! Great video!
Thanks for the encouragement Darin! I had never worked with Sapele before so I was really hoping it looked nice when finished. It didn’t disappoint! Plus it smells great while you are milling it.
Very well done video, and the final result from the build was just beautiful. Now the key is not to overstuff the trays with paper so you can still see their beauty, ha ha!
Haha! Yes, my plan was the shallow boxes and beauty would have me keeping them empty. Yup. It’s not working out like that AT ALL! At least the sides are still visible. Thanks for the kind words!
Doug, your video was great. The monologue wasn’t to stale, and the sound was consistent through. I also though you did a good job of balancing your shots so I didn’t get lost in what you were explaining and showing. I also though the thumbnail on your video was perfect with the reflect. Thanks for keeping the bar high. Cheers!
Thank you Erik! There was a lot of detail in this, so I’m glad the audio wasn’t too much and you were able to follow. And thanks for the compliments about the thumbnail! The finished shots of a product are half the fun!
Having just watched your TV quality intro, that means a lot! Thanks so much! I’ve followed you on IG for a while, but I only subscribed tonight. Thanks for watching!
Looks great, subscribed to see your future projects! I really like how relaxed and calm you are throughout the video. By the way, came here from Jay Bates :)
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback on my style too. Jay has been an incredible support to my channel, so I’m so glad to hear you found me through him. Thanks for the sub as well!
Thanks Bodie! Yeah, and I left so much footage out too, haha. But that’s how it goes. Did a slightly better job of capturing more targeted clips this time so a little less to wade through.
I'm @someleather on Instagram, and I've absolutely loved following this project there! Those trays are gorgeous and I can really appreciate all the hard work that went into them even more after watching the video! I really like the straw tip, Can't wait to try that one myself.
Awesome! I'm so glad to hear this. I can't make videos every week, so Instagram lets me stay connected and "sharing" in between the longer videos. Thanks so much for watching and leaving such a nice comment!
Just subscribed. Never knew you had a RUclips channel looking fwd to binge watching what you've done and do in the future. Sapele and Danish oil is pb&j lol they go great with each other ..project looks great like all ur others I've seen on I.G. have a good one bro
Thanks man! I wish there were a better way to understand who has a channel out of folks I follow on IG! I didn’t know you had a channel either. Thankfully a binge watch will only take you less than an hour, haha!
Love the idea of using a straw to collect glue squeeze-out! Nice!
I use this all the time! I should probably buy a box for the shop instead of hoping there are some in the house 😀
Great video and project, Doug!

Doug! As you know, I’m a big fan! I know this was a lot of hard work on this project man. Congrats on being finished!
Thanks Tyson! Your encouragement and feedback is much appreciated!
Your production value is off the charts. Every time. These things turned out beautifully. That wood is so nice.
Thanks for the encouragement Darin! I had never worked with Sapele before so I was really hoping it looked nice when finished. It didn’t disappoint! Plus it smells great while you are milling it.

Just stumbled on to your channel this morning! Looking forward to seeing more projects.
Thanks Allen! I have several I want to make and film! Once it warms up some I should be able to get more filmed :)
Wow - another tremendous video. Great job man! I use the straw-to-remove-glue trick ALL the time!
Thanks John!!! I probably learned the trick from you or Dad!
Great project! Please keep up the good work!
Thank you!

Nice job dude!
Thanks man!!
Awesome project Doug! They came out beautiful. And some great tips and tricks as well. Love the drill press spindle sander, very clever!
Thanks Ellen! I use the drill press for so many different things, haha. One of the more versatile tools in my shop.
Never seen the straw trick to clean glue out, I'll definitely give that a try.
Good idea.. now i know what to do for my wife desk.. she's an economist and work with a lot of papers.
Bravo Doug. Great project and the video quality is superb! keep it up bud!
Thanks Chris!! Slow and steady... mostly slow, haha.

Another great project & video! Well done!
Thanks Jolien! I’m glad you commented because I guess I never subbed to your channel back when we chatted before... well I fixed that issue just now!
Thanks a lot for your support!
Almost done with my next video :).
Really like these desk trays, really beautiful!
Awesome!! Subscribed and followed on IG.
Thats great, thanks! See you over there!
These are so cool! Great job.
Thanks! I had so much fun on the build!
SOOOO AMAZING!! I can't understand why you have only 2k subs... It looks GREAT!
Aww, thanks! That’s super kind of you!
I think I saw your renders for these from Caleb like 3 monhts ago...your process goes so in depth. Great work!
Thank you!! Those renders are what got me so excited, but it took forever to get enough time to get the build, and video, and plans done, haha.
thanks for the tip about the straw
Sure thing! Glad you found it useful! I can’t even remember where I first learned it!
Doug, great work, great detail, that’s a lot of video to shoot for 11 minute video.
Thanks Bodie! Yeah, and I left so much footage out too, haha. But that’s how it goes. Did a slightly better job of capturing more targeted clips this time so a little less to wade through.
Great project.
I like your videos.
Thanks Eric!!
New subscriber, great work!

Beautiful but man a lot of work for filing trays! lol
Haha, yeah! My hope was maybe that I wouldn’t keep them filled if they looked nice... but it’s not working.
Great project. I like your videos.
