    I left my husband in may I couldn't take the drugs and drinking and the meanness. I'm not asking for a divorce, but I asked him to get some help. And I'm praying for him to accept Jesus.

    LOL my mother-in-law was Sicilian and would NEVER reveal her recipes 😆 It was the best food I’ve ever eaten too!!! She would say, I don’t have a recipe and I think that’s true in a sense as she would just put some of this and some of that, never actually measuring anything. I still felt like she was holding back somewhat because she never offered to let me watch her! Italian mamas never want the daughter in law to out cook them to keep them “ special” in their son’s life 🥰

    I'm a single woman my husband left me when our Daughter was all most 2 and our son was 7 months today they are 33 and 31 and I never remarried I raised my children in church they are very people and have there own family they make good parents because I always put God first and sometimes people that don't have any partner can raise great kids. They never gave me a minute of trouble

      I was a single mom too. My kids gave me a bit of trouble though. I raised my kids kinda like Phil & Miss Kay did. But I took Deuteronomy 11:19 very seriously.
      ...I had scripture verses on the walls. 3X5 cards on the bathroom mirror. We did family memory verses together. We talked about God on the long rides to town.
      ... They still tried drugs, but they all turned around & are raising their children in the Lord.
      ... The hard part is praying in between & giving them to God. Because there is no promise that your kids will follow the Lord. I thank God all the time!🙌

    • @greglovelace246
      @greglovelace246 Год назад +1

      @jewelssylva3738 It can be discouraging to a true follower of christ when your kids have there own life wondering (will my kids come to love the lord) but all a parent can do is try and teach the scriptures and raise them up in it and once the child becomes an adult and is at the age of wisdom of right and wrong and chooses to not believe, at the end of the day, you did your part and whether they make it to the kingdom, it's there decision. To be holy is less human emotion and carnal mind, and yes, we still mourn and want our loved ones to make it, but the whole world is our family and our loved ones. As we teach our children to love the Lord and desire eternal life for them, we must wish for the same and teach all the same to strangers and bad violent people of this world. We are all family and as a man or women of an household, it's our duty to children and ourselves to act accordingly to Gods word, but, once that child makes there own household, it is there choice and we can't do much about it but remind them and pray that god will bless them with understanding. I'll say it again, it takes discipline and courage to do what you've done, and we need more women like you who put scripture before all in these troubled times. Godbless you

      My children are in their 30's and live in different states. We talk about the Lord quite often. And I'm still jealous of Phil Robertson. I think it should be the goal of every father to talk about the Lord and study the Bible with their children. I believe next to believing in Jesus one of the most important things a Christian parent must do is raise your children in the Word. Good job Ladies😊😊😊

    • @greglovelace246
      @greglovelace246 Год назад

      @johnyacks7690 agreed. That's the foundation of knowledge and understanding. We must live in the word, even God expressed that. God said (read) it and even (write) it. As you look at the world and the way humans are, you can see why he tells us to invest in the word, but yet, alot of parents claim Christian and a believer but never read or study the scriptures, and never teach there kid(s) to read it. I've seen parents who teach a good moral part of the bible from hearing it in church or someone tells them, but these parents and children are missing so much due to lack of study. I tell people; "The most important thing a human can do if you want holy knowledge and to see these sins, to live life (right), and if you truly claim believer and desire your kids to follow; you MUST read and gather your OWN understanding in the scriptures". Read, or if someone doesn't like reading, listen to it. With the technology we have now, we have got more opportunities than ever to know more, and partly, due to other peoples experiences and understanding. But it is a must to not just listen to someone teach a lesson of the bible, I've seen some pastors who teach confusion with the word and alot of pastors put there own carnal concepts and opinions with the lesson. We need to read the good book for ourselves and teach the younger generations to come to do the same. As we see, most churches only dive into a small portion of the bible. Reading it for yourself is and will be the best gain of knowledge that one human can have in modern society. So many of gods laws and stories of wickedness are left out in gatherings. Godbless, let's get out there and read and (desire) of reading the bible. Once you desire the lessons, it's a beautiful read, you learn so much more, and your kids will too. The more you start reading, the more knowledge and closer to God you feel and yes there are rabbit holes and things I think is detrimental to gather a more understanding, a (truer) understanding; these things would be: for English versions, a more accurate version NASB, look up concepts that the church has changed through language interpretations. Learn biblical hebrew if you can or listen to a teacher that does so you can know better about heaven and hell and other concepts that have been lost over time, even the true sabbath and how to observe it. I will say a lot of humans are misled through interpretation. KJV is a more reliable book but NASB is more word for word and some are blatantly teaching lies so watch out, study and improve. You can even go deeper and do research on how they lived during biblical times and how people got baptized multiple times through there life, but the most important thing is read the bible, gather a understanding and go from there. This is a great way to build a foundation that if followed, worldly things can't break you or it takes much more pressure, and I respect you people for teaching your kids in the word of God. With sin all over this world, it's tough for a true believer that proclaims the word to others. We face scrutiny, so stay strong and godbless family. I hope to live peacefully in the kingdom with you all.

    Thank you brothers for handling this difficult discussion about marriage, divorce, and remarriage with honor and compassion. I grew up in a Christian home and married a Christian woman. After 18 years of marriage, she chose to divorce me due to "incompatibility". Like many, we were experiencing some difficulties and trials in our marriage, but she refused to even consider spiritual marriage counseling.
    Despite doing everything within my ability to save the marriage, it ended in divorce. The church leadership of the local congregation where we were members excommunicated me and fully took her side. I literally lost my wife, my children, my church family, the house (I was kicked out by the court), and most of the household property. I was ordered to pay back-breaking child support so that I could only afford a small apartment that was generously made available by a God fearing couple.
    I'm thankful for good Godly people like you who teach the truth in love and don't condemn those of us who have experienced divorce. I agree that it is God's ideal that divorce should not be the outcome of marriage, but as it was explained to me, it takes two to day "I do", but only one to say "I don't".

    This conversation is misplaced- statistics show that 80-90% of women are the ones filing for divorce. They are the ones leaving, for any reason. Speak to that. @deniseloesch3628 the men don't file because they will be financially punished with Alimony and Child support, lose their primary home, become homeless in many cases and lose access to their children, with approximately 92% of mothers being awarded primary care. Hence the slogan - "cheaper to keep her." The laws need to change to be more fair and balanced, it's a bad deal for kids and dads.

    There are still certain societies that allow divorce simply by notifying the wife eg: letter. Also this reminds me of a movie called "The Stoning of Soraya:|", where a man wants to get rid of his wife to pursue another woman and so sets his wife up to look like she is "indecent".

  • @festushaggen2563
    @festushaggen2563 Год назад +3

    Disagree on this one. The word sounded plain and clear to me. Divorce is a sin and to marry another is adultery. What God has joined let no man separate. Seems the only conflict here is that so many people have done that multiple times that there's a risk of offending them by calling them adulterers. I believe that's exactly what the Lord is saying here and it wasn't just for the Scribes and Pharisees.
    Don't get married if you're open to being unfaithful and leaving the marriage. If you divorce, don't marry again. This seems to be a conflict of God's word and man's acceptable behaviors. Divorce and remarriage may be common but it still isn't right. So people may have accepted it but that doesn’t mean God has.

    Phil said 'Jesus was not married'. How would he have offspring if he never married? Right in Isaiah 53 it says - he will see his offspring, he will prolong his days'. We are not his offspring, but God's, his sisters and brothers - adopted. He could have easily married young, had kids, and they all got killed, including his father and wife. That would answer how his brothers did not believe in him (like Job and his friends), and how he could be tempted in all points like we are, yet without sin. This guy was a man of sorrows and aquainted with grief. Despised, and we did not esteem him. They thought him Stricken of God and afflicted. it did not just happen in the last 3 years of his life! I can never say he was not married, with that verse in Isa 53:10. What about you?

    Zach - I don't see your point about the woman at the well and her marriages. I don't see that Jesus approved of her marriages or even recognized them as legitimate in God's eyes. I see him simply making the observation that she had been married multiple times. Therefore, I think you're doing what you said the church you grew up in did, i.e., using the example of the woman at the well out of context, just as you say the example in Luke 16 has been misused.

    • @dfischer5878

    Im sticking to Jesus and because marriage is hard already i would much rather stay divorced and not remarry, God loves us to help us in the decision to stay as we remain, in the beginning yes it wasnt good for man to be alone so he created his partner but then it went to sickness and hardened hearts because when we read Davids story and his son Solomon they had wives concubines and sexual immortality went on until this day we are all far from Jesus.

      The intention and design was to procreate children in his likeness. The best example is Joshua. We aren't the police we aren't legalistic we are ambassadors we are to be one in him.

    So divorcing my 2 cheating ex's was within Gods law, but, can I marry for a 3rd time if a Good man shows up in my life? Not that I'm looking, but what if? But, I'm not young and dumb anymore and I would hope Jesus would send me a good man to share my older years with.

    Religious dudes? Fer yer sake...please...ER, fer love O humanity...read Matt 23...
    When one of those reclining with Him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is everyone who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”
    But Jesus replied, “A certain man prepared a great banquet and invited many guests. When it was time for the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’
    But one after another they all began to make excuses AT THE SAME TIME! The first one said, ‘I have bought a field, and I need to go see it. Please excuse me.’
    Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out. Please excuse me.’
    Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, so I cannot come.’
    The servant returned and reported all this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’
    ‘Sir,’ the servant replied, ‘what you ordered has been done, and there is still room.’
    So the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. For I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will taste my banquet.’ ”
    Large crowds were now traveling with Jesus, and He turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters-yes, even his own life-he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.
    Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it? Otherwise, if he lays the foundation and is unable to finish the work, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘This man could not finish what he started to build.’
    Or what king on his way to war with another king will not first sit down and consider whether he can engage with ten thousand men the one coming against him with twenty thousand? And if he is unable, he will send a delegation while the other king is still far off, to ask for terms of peace.
    In the same way, any one of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple.
    Salt is good, but if the salt loses its savor, with what will it be seasoned? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile, and it is thrown out.
    He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
