    Very nice boats and running good, i thought there would be a bit bigger difference between them. One thing i have to ask and it is not regarding you guys specifically. When you are talking boat speeds (mph) is that car mph or is it "knots" (i meen nautical miles per hour) like we do in the rest of the world when one talks about boat speed and i guess air speed. This is something i always wondering when i´m looking at all these boat movie clips, it´s just so i know, so i can recalculate to nm/h or knots which is the only measurement we use in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe when it comes to boat speed. Plus it is far more impressing if it is 83 knots, and and that was around my guess of the Jaguars speed but with the Merc 450R. Really i do not dissing the boat, i love the Bass cat and the Jaguar is the model that would suit the bigger waters i often fish in, but it is a very big investment so i think i´d have to settle for like a 300 Merc if i ever get the funds to import one. Keep on making great movie clips guys! Greetings from Sweden!

    What prop on the 400?

  • @davidfrank2824
    @davidfrank2824 3 года назад +1

    I think both of those are fantastic. Bigger engines to make it more fun but I don't know of any fishing tournaments that allow anything bigger than the 250. I could be wrong I don't know the rules for every tournament that's out there. Also there's got to be something different in the way they make the boat with the bigger engine. Every boat has a coast guard sticker that tells you horsepower ratings and weight limits and I don't see how a boat with a 250 that used to have a horsepower maximum of 300 is now a maximum of 400 but nothing within the frame or shape of the boat changed?
    I did enjoy the videos do not get me wrong it's just I have questions on how they can say both boats are the same. The only way that I know of that you can do that is to have an x in the serial number and that would stand for experimental and then you don't have to go by the Coast guard rating.
    Up until a few weeks ago I was getting ready to order another Ranger boat. All I'm waiting on is doctor's approval so I know if I can travel fishing or have to stay close to home for treatment. My friends know I'm itching to get back on the water and one of them sent me information on this exact boat. After doing research and reading up on it I honestly believe this will be my next boat when I'm able to get back out there. I'm still thinking to go ahead and pull the trigger and just stay in my home waters of the Chesapeake. As anyone who lives in this area who has ever fished in this area know for a fact there's a lot of places for bass fishing on the Chesapeake. We even have a few pretty good lakes nothing's spectacular but good enough to be able to spend a few hours out if I could and still be close to home.
    Thanks for giving out all the information on these two boats for this evening more videos on both of them.

    Gorgeous boats but I'm kind of under impressed by the speeds. My 88 Ranger 374V with a 150hp, 27p prop on it hits 64mph by myself with a tournament load. I ran into ventilation issues with the prop when carrying 2 people so I dropped to a 23p prop and top out at 59mph with 2 people with a tournament load. I'm lookin for a new boat and saw this video but I gotta say, with a 250hp only hittin like 67mph is super disappointing to me. I'm sure it's the weight difference from my smaller 18ft boat to these but I guess I'd rather stay with a 18ft boat that will burn 6 gallons of gas on a tournament day and only lose a few mph to these brand new boats. Anyone know if mid 60's is normal for a 250hp with a 20-21ft boat? Can't believe 100hp more would only get me like 6-7mph more and I'm sure would burn through way more gas. Thanks.

      @@brandonhebert5485 lmfao. Well it doesn't matter what you doubt or believe...check out my youtube video...I believe it's my 2nd video that shows me on GPS doing 58mph with my current 23p prop and as you can see in my videos I'm a big guy, doubt you're bigger than me so your boat has issues then or mine is just super awesome. Now I realize that's not 64mph but you can see my boat doing 58mph while being a few hundred rpms under WOT with my current 23p prop...not the 27p when my boat would hit 64mph. If I had a hydraulic jack plate I'd go back to the 27p to get back up to 64mph. I can hit 60mph on a glass surface WOT with her trimmed up on my 23p, next time I'm out on glass I'll make sure to get WOT on GPS and hit 60mph for you and video it. I'm out every week but the lake i fish is rarely glass but anyone can figure out if I'm hittin 60mph with a 23p I can hit 64mph with a 27p. I just had to get rid of the 27p prop due to ventilation/cavitation issues on the hole shot like I said when I'd get a 2nd person with all their gear in the boat. I'll find the video and reply to this reply with the time and link of 58mph.

In the video with we get into flyby runs you can see the boat hit a boat weak at a 45 degree angle and it never skipped a beat. Any boat hitting a wake surfing or cabin cruiser wake can be ejected at any speed over idol. So yes you would be in for a bumpy ride but those are not normal conditions.
