Excellent theory. I’ve never heard the idea that Edric Storm could be used to take Storm’s End peacefully. I always just assumed that JonCon would pretend that the Golden Company was there to back Stanis, and then kill everyone once inside.
Yeah, "peacefully", as both a carrot and a stick: "This is Edric Baratheon first-and-only son of Robert Baratheon, who you vowed to protect, yet gave to Stannis the lying pretender. With the help of our contractors, we saved Edric from the burning pyres that Stannis likes to build with his Red Witch. Open the gates for your Lord and he'll be safe with you, under our protection. If you don't believe us, send an envoy who knows him." After a while, if they don't do as ordered: "Or keep the gates closed indeed and he dies on the sword here and now, we won't have him burned by Stannis or tortured by Cersei. The choice is yours."
Luis Caetano - the Edmure Tully situation is a bit different though. He actually is the already established Lord of Riverrun, so when he comes in and orders the garrison to surrender that is just a straight up situation of coercing the Lord, not of subterfuge or bringing in a bastard that is questionably legitimised or whatever.
Would be really funny that the supposed son of Rhaegar and the bastard of Robert end up working together. There would be a symbolic of "national reconciliation" between the pro Robert and the pro Targaryen factions. That would surely also be beneficial to Aegon's cause Until Daenerys comes crashing down, that is

In that very specific scenario, she is an unquestionable tyrant leading a foreign army into the lands of Westeros. She would officially be a villain by action, if not motivation.
"With Guile." That's how you know Jon Con is one of the best strategists in the game; by not saying his plan aloud, he gives GRRM no opportunity to subvert it and use it against him.
Seeing that Gendry took Edric’s place in the show, it makes even more sense that Edric will be legitimized by Aegon. Gendry gets legitimized by Daenerys in season 8. It’s possible that GRRM told D&D about how Aegon’s and Jon Connington’s story ended, regardless of the fact that they obviously cut them from the show. It seems more than likely that with Varys and Illyrio’s vast web of informers, along with Griff’s political savvy, Storm’s End will fall. Good catch there, sir.
Maybe that'll be the true Battle of the Bastards. Two Baratheon bastards being used by two Targaryen claimants to bring the House descending from the Conquerer's bastard brother under their allegiance. The Targaryen-Baratheon relationship really is one of ASoIaF's most underappreciated aspects.
@@onikkobe why do you think he's fake? i've never understood that theory? i don't think he's fake because of how he fits in the Dorne storyline. Quentyn Martell was supposed to be the link between the Martells and the Targaryens but he died in book 5. Given how Aegon is the son of Elia Martell he's the perfect candidate to fulfill that role. Arianne's sample chapter from Winds basically confirms that the two storylines will merge which would be meaningless if he wasn't actually a Martell. Also at least according to Tyrion he's the real thing. Tyrion is supposed to be very smart and politically savvy. If he had such a dumb error of judgment it would be pretty poor writing on GRRM's part. Same for Jon Connington. Also the way he was introduced in Dance With Dragons makes me think that he's the real thing. He's introduced as some random guy and the big twist towards the end of the first half of the novel is that he's actually a prince. Wouldn't it be really dumb if George then had ANOTHER twist where it turns out that he's actually a fake? That would be really awful writing. You can't have a second twist that inmedietly contradicts the one that came before. That's not how GRRM writes stories.
Carlos he could be aegon but you said it yourself to be introduced this late makes me wonder grrm wouldn’t introduce someone that important that late and not give hints from previous books and the fact that varys is involved makes me more suspicious dudes a master at lying and manipulating. He could be a blackfyre he has some of the targaryn features that’s what tyrion saw. But tyrion also loved a hoe lol and almost got killed by his own dad. but idk about aegon if he is that’s cool because the dragon must have 3 heads. I think aegon is more of a side character we don’t have any point of view chapters and Jon con even has one. And aegon is still hella green he hasn’t seen any real fighting he stayed on the boats when they came to the storm lands, compare him to a real targaryn like Jon snow who has fought wildings and whites been beyond the wall and back and is the lord commander. And makes you think why aegon wasn’t in the show 🤔 D&D talked to George throughout they know what his thinking and writing in the upcoming books
@@onikkobe Yeah I get what you're saying. It can be seen as weird that GRRM would introduce him that late in the story but I saw an interview where he was talking about book 5 and he said that in the game of thrones you need to add twists and new players because otherwise it gets predictable. I think it makes sense because some characters only appeared later in the story and becane significant, like how Euron Greyjoy looks like he's going to be one of the main villains but he first appeared in book 4. Also it's true that we don't get a POV from him but many important characters don't have them. Like Stannis is super important but we see him through the eyes of Davos, Jon and Asha. Same with Aegon, at the start we see him through Tyrion and then through Jon Connington. I'm not saying he's going to become this huge main character but he could be a Robb Stark type guy that's influential in the story but who's never the main focus of it.
Carlos it’s possible he is actually aegon. But George has laid out way too many blackfyre clues for him not to be a blackfyre. The fact that the golden company broke their contract which they have never done. By all accounts the golden company is basically the blackfyre army and has no love for the mainline Targaryens. They even say “some contracts are written in blood”. That would refer to fighting to put a descendant of bittersteel and daemon blackfyre on the throne. There’s just too many clues to ignore. Saying the male line has been extinguished. Illyros wife sera could be that female blackfyre who gave birth to aegon. He could even be a random commoner with silver hair faking being a blackfyre who is faking being a Targaryen. George also drops hints in stories told by Stannis in the winds of winter chapter and the story about the sign at the inn at the crossroads.
Bravo 👏 Really into the whole "Aegon and Orys come again" vibe you've got going on. It's pretty legit. I really hope we get to see this, though I'd be surprised if we don't get something similar, because how the Hell else are they going to weasel their way into that castle?
@@JoeMagician It would not be more logical if, after the golden company defeats the forces of Mathis Rowan (responsible for the siege after Mace returned to KingsLading), Jon Con shows to Gilbert (who would be at the top of the walls of Storm's end) that they have Edric Storm, and they will give him legitimately and turn him the lord of the StormLands if he surrenders the castle; and after Gilbert refuses saying that the lord of the StormLands is Stannis, in that same night, Gilbert's men, loving Edric more than they love Stannis, and thinking of Stannis as a lost cause, throw him from the top of some tower, say that it was suicide, and then Elwood Meadows surrenders the castle once again. It would mirror the first Storm's end siege almost completely (i don't know if that is good or not). These are my predictions, and I never would have gotten to them, if weren't for this video. (Sorry my english)
I think that the friendship between Shireen and Edric is just another way to show up that this society has a million different ways to be cruel to children.
JonCon is going to cause an outbreak of greyscale from Storm's End to King's Landing, and he'll be the one to flip out when King's Landing rings the bells signaling surrender.
I imagine Tommen will die and the bells will ring signaling his death while Fageon and Connington are invading. Leading to Connington doing something rash because of PTSD. Whatever he does may sway the small folk away from Faegon or sabotage by accident Faegon and his hold on kingslanding. Thinking about it, the bells may not happen with the death of the king. Since in Danys vision theres a cloth dragon among cheering smallfolk which I conclude means Faegon won over kingslanding. It's obvious the bells are something that's gonna happen but I'm curious exactly how. The show took that idea and desecrated it. Turned it into a joke since Dany has nothing to do with bells ringing. The bells were one of George's ideas. Its evident from the fact Connington has such an obsession with them from when he couldnt capture Robert. that the show took and just shoved in with Dany for no good reason other than they thought it would be "deep".
TheHumbleNarcissist stress from dealing with the faith militant an In-coming Euron attack and maybe from out-of-control legitimacy rumors courtesy of LF + advancing greyscale or outbreak. He could end-up blasting all of KL in the process when he feels sorrounded by enemies ... one possibility - using wildfire to repel incoming ships at BWB and backfires spectacularly cus Euron is way too powerful for team fAegon IMO (if he doesn’t manipulate JC’s or fAegon’s dreams though)
Aegons has taken Kings Landing, i’d loved by the folk butJonCon started an Epidemie. Euro or Dany attack, Bells are ringing, JonCon geos crazy and burns Kings Landing with wildfire, and gets rid of the Greyscale in the process. That would be a nice way for GRRM to introduce the potential threat of an epidemic apocalypse, without having a long term effect on the story.
Victarion will win Battle of Fire by offering the dragons pork. Euron will win Battle of Blood by offering the krakens blood. Stannis will win Battle of Snow by posing as Freys. Aegon will win Battle of Steel by posing as Baratheons. It like, rhymes.
My best guess on this is Young Griff and the Golden Company dress up as Baratheon soldiers returning from the war, perhaps even feigning the return of King Stannis. The watch lowers their guard long enough for their men to get through the gates then they take control of the castle.
I'm personally looking forward to how Aegon and the Golden Company's story is going to unfold in the Winds of Winter. It's been a while since the War of the Five Kings felt like a war, I guess six kings now lol
I really like this combined with the idea that Aurane Waters is the Lord of the Waters and will side with YG/Faegon, that and Faegon being a Blackfyre and Varys’ whole “power resides where men believe it resides” makes a bunch of illegitimate bastards assuming the positions of their respective houses so neat, a faction of mummers… especially since they actually seem pretty adept at assuming the noblest qualities of their respective houses
And it would've been super cool if fAegon, Edric Storm, post-resurrection Jon Snow and Aurane Waters becomes friends and turns themselves into the "Great Bastards of Westeros"!
@1:58: Joe made a small mistake here. The castle the Golden Company took was the Rain House, which can be seen on this map, but its not the seat of House Rain (no such house,) or of House Reyne (extinct and was a house from the Westerlands, ruling from Castle Castamere.) It's the seat of House Wylde. And for context, the seat of House Morrigen is Crow's Nest, which can also be seen on this map in addition to Griffin's Roost. The seat of House Estermont is on the island of Greenstone, which can just barely be seen at the very bottom of this map on the right. It is rumored that the Golden Company have ALSO captured Castle Tarth on the Island of Tarth, and we know from one of the released WoW Arianne chapters that they control Mistwood (on the map,) seat of House Mertyns. Basically the entire Rainwood belongs to them since they control all 3 major castles around its borders, as well as both of the islands off its shores.
"The last time, torches had burned all along the tunnel, and the eyes of starving men had peered down through the murder holes in the ceiling." F*cking nightmareville
Yes he does! It would be quite a sight for a Baratheon to a warhammer to walk up to the gates of Storm's End and demand entry. Although it might be too small now if Edric went through a growth spurt.
@@JoeMagician Even if it is too small for him, getting used to wielding a warhammer is a whole other affair to wielding a sword, due to the fact that rather than being balanced, a warhammer wants all the weight behind the head. Edric being able to wield a warhammer like Robert, whilst being the image of young Robert (with Florent ears), and being well spoken, would be an image indeed, and a new hammer could be made for him.
Forge him a new hammer, give it First Men runes in the Royce style, call it Ghal Maraz and reforge the kingdoms into a true Empire of Man, to face the enless hordes coming from the North. ..... FOR SIGMAR! FOR THE EMPIRE! FOR THE WARHAMMER! ... Wait, wrong fantasy genre
Courtney Penrose will not surrender Edric, after the death of Renly you aren't really surprised. The reason Stannis wanted Edric at first was as an example of Robert's children looking like him. However, Melisandre wanted to sacrifice him for King's blood, which is why Davos smuggled the child off Dragonstone and to Essos. Melisandre made two shadow demons in the book. The second one threw Ser Courtney off of the tower. Or maybe Ser Courtney fell try to escape the thing. In the show most people don't even notice Renly's ghost which was Loras in his armor. In the Book it was Garlan. Good theory, thank you for posting.
The artist who drew that Young Griff drawing in the beginning must've used Cody Rhodes as their model for his face. It's a striking resemblance, especially the mouth/eyes area -- great drawing!!

Great video! I love the style, particularly the tone in your voice when you're reading the passages. The shift denotes that History is being taught. Keep up the great work!
Excellent theory and nice narration! I read the main story books of ASOIAF over the course of about 4 or 5 years and, in a way, I hate watching videos like these, because they really confront me with how many details I missed or forgot about haha. I should reread them all in succession some day. Closest thing I ever got to a theory about the books was when I was I think on the second or third book, and abruptly remembered Mirri Maz Duur's line "When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east" which I thought was something she said in reference to when Dany could have children again. So it dawned on me that, actually, the sun rises in the west and sets in the east literally every day, because that's how time zones work (if the sun is setting where you are on the globe, then it'll be rising somewhere further west of you in that same moment and vice versa) which I thought meant that Dany actually could still have children this whole time. Then I checked the chapter again and it turned out I misremembered the context of what Mirri said, fucking cry T_T
It's a little odd, now that I think about it, how the common soldiers were either bolstered or terrified by *Renly's* ghost leading the *Lannister's* vanguard... perhaps they took it as a sign that Renly was sorry for trying to usurp the throne off the trueborn Lannister children. I dunno. It's just a little weird.
Iirc during Joffrey's wedding, a singer has a song about Renly repenting and being sent back to protect King's Landing, so that's exactly how the Lannisters/Tyrells spun that story.
@@ranica47 lol the way a lot of us Americans say Iraq and Iran always felt like a slight jab at those countries. Like we never cared enough to pronounce it right. Unlike some mispronunciations it doesnt even sound similar to the original pronunciation.

Edric is only good for VArys's cause if he agrees to renounce all claim to the throne, but "sign up with F/Aegon and we'll let you live, kid," might sound pretty good!
@@gfilmer7150 Do you remember that Stannis is seriously considering on executing Theon in front of Winterfell's weirwood tree or in the Isle of Faces? He might be a sacrifice for the Old Gods of the North to bring Jon back, alongside Shireen being sacrificed for the Lord of Light, a resurrection of Ice and Fire. And Ghost could be killed in trying to take Jon's soul out of Ghost, since we know from the ADWD prologue that, when Varamyr warged for the first time, they had to kill the animal Sixskins was in to make him get out, the same could probably happen with Ghost!
It ended up being a much more difficult question to answer than I initially thought, that's why I kept pushing back the release date. Just kept finding more evidence and ways of approaching it.
@@JoeMagician I'm surprised in some ways, because this is *such* a huge question for the story, yet I've not come across any other channels digging in to it. On the other hand, I literally couldn't have found the connections or come up with a satisfactory answer myself; it's a doozy, for sure. But this just fits. It just fits. Incredible work, Joe!
Stannis put his man in charge of the castle, so I doubt it. I think it more likely that Connington simply attacks the unsuspecting Tyrell besiegers, and deceiving the defenders of Storm's End into thinking Connington had come to aid them. He gets them to open their gates to him and the Golden Company, and then kills the defenders. Basically, what Ramsay did to take Winterfell.
Even while you were still going over the Edric Storm plot from Clash/Storm it made me think of the triumphant return of Prince Viserys, borther of Aegon III, which was personally one of my favorite parts from F&B. I mean, what a great twist! With GRRM being notorious for hating plotholes I have no doubt that Edric will make some kind of appearance in the coming books, given how much focus there was on him early on. And you may have just done the trick of figuring out how that reappearance will play out!
Exactly what I did in reverse! I was reading about Viserys returning and all I could think was Edric Storm. It seemed too convenient to be writing such a similar scenario while we know he's working on TWOW.
I love all the analysis videos; but it's awesome to see original content that contains theories that follow through i.e., they have a definitive conclusion. Nice.
If Aegon legitimizes Edric he would create another heir to the iron throne that would challenge his own claim as well as that of Stannis. Although Edric and Aegon are distant cousins, with old family ties, there is so much bad blood between the Baratheons and Targaryens and between their respective allies/supporters. What would this alliance look like? What would the Dornish think?
@@mysteryjunkie9808 that is not how claims works. The Targaryens will have their claim forever literally, they are the rightful kings of Westeros since Aegon the conqueror for 300 years. Since Robert just past nearly 20 years or less. So if a real Targaryen shows up, he is the real king, and a challenge of any other who could have the iron throne.
@@nadir5091 Robert became the legitimate king by right of conquest (just like Aegon 300 yrs prior). The Targaryens lost their claim when they lost the war and the survivors fled. They could only re-claim the throne through which Aegon (Griff Jr.) is doing. Once Aegon conquers Westeros, he is the legitimate king, and all Baratheon claims by right of inheritance cease. Edric is a bastard who right now in the story cannot claim anything. If Aegon legitimatizes him, Edric still has no claim to the throne because Aegon has the throne by right of conquest. Conquest trumps inheritance.
I thought it'd just be golden company would be allowed in posing as allies, but this is so much cooler. Edric Storm was always felt like a placeholder rather than an actual character, so this would be an awesome way to expand hin
Sweet ending with the sound of the waves and the thunder! But that might be what destroys Edric's ship, unless someone has the wit to learn from recentish history!
I still wonder how Gendry will fit into this. Allying Edric with Aegon makes sense but it also could make his reign as Storm Lord precarious when Dany arrives.
Joe Magician It’s difficult to predict Gendry’s storyline but I have a feeling it’s going to revolve around the Riverlands. If he does survive I think he’ll probably start his own line in the Riverlands.
Also, isn’t it left up to interpretation how much Stannis knew beforehand that he was going to gakk Renly via shadowbabby? Like, he knows deep down on a spiritual level he’s a kinslayer after the fact but do they ever explicitly state Stannis was fully aware of what he was taking part in? I only ask because Stannis can do no wrong and I’m getting some definite heretical vibes regarding Brienne of Tarth’s assassination of Stannis’ beloved brother. (I kid)
And if fAegon is indeed a Blackfyre, the descendent of Daemon and the son of Robert working together would be kinda like poetry, since according to Aerys, Robert was the biggest threat to House Targaryen since Daemon Blackfyre!
I'd laugh so hard if George pulls the (long) rug under the feet of Griff's fans by killing him randomly in the middle of WoW (similarly to the random way he killed Daeron in F&B).

Yes! Great work and the visuals are on point ! Maybe D&D were trying to go for this in the show with Gendry filling a lot of the roles of Edric Storm and ending up in charge of Storms End. Thank you for all of your work, they’re always a highlight of my day 🙂 Also! A question: do you think we will have some echoes of aegon the unworthy’s bastards, with some of the “great” bastards, mainly Gendry, Edric, or Mya on opposite sides of a battle? 🤔
Imagine if the shadow assassin was still around and he becomes aware and since he is in theory stannis the mannis boy has a claim to The Iron throne or atleast storms end
Even if he isn't used as the key to the Stormlands initially, I think he'll be used as the long term ruler. Or at least that's the plan until Fire and Ice start battling.
Great video. But I'm more interested in what will happen after that. It is called Storms End, so it will end the storm, or at least fail at doing so, won't it? And who is the storm? Euron Greyjoy. I think it is pretty clear, that Euron knows, that Victarion won't bring Daenerys to him. So does he want his brother to fail and die in the east? I really have no clues about this, but I guess on Eurons side there are two possibilities. Either it will be a bit like in the show and Eurons tries to earn favours with the Lannisters, sail to Storms End to capture it for the crown, or he will lay a trap for Daenerys on her way home (probably to attend the marriage proposal of her nephew). Isn't there a non loyal vassal of Stannis on an island who has a magic horn to control krakens? Maybe this horn gets to Storms End and Euron will lose control over his beasts and this will end the Storm?
I have been convinced that Aegon is in actuality FAegon, that he is probably a Blackfyre being used by Illyrio Mopatis and Varys.. but honestly I wish that he was the son of Rhaegar and that all that work that was put in to him being a wise and conscientious king wouldn’t go to waste.. and that in the end the two living sons of Rhaegar and the sister of Rhaegar unite as the 3 heads of the dragon and turn their attention North to the very real threat to the Realm and entirety of human kind. Who cares about a gaudy old iron chair made of bent and broken swords when the world literally needs saving??
I prefer to believe he's a Blackfyre since it will mirrors Robert's Rebellion (with Cersei being Aerys and fAegon being Robert), because even if he reveals his Blackfyre heritage to all of Westeros after the Battle of Steel, the Westerosi probably won't care if he's a prince's son (Rhaegar) or a usurper's descendent (Daemon), all they want now is to get rid of Cersei's madness and cruelty (I even imagine the people or Westeros repeating Illyrio's famous quote: "Red or black, a dragon is still a dragon")!
Before the proliferation of siege engines, starvation and guile were the only methods of conducting a siege. I think a Total War loading screen told me that once, and that game series really understands sieges in that they always suck for both sides and you want to avoid experiencing them as much as possible.
@0:39 really "the other First Men." Durran (and Brandon the Builder) weren't some other race of men separate from the First Men, Andals, Rhoynar, and Valyrian (and nor was Durran a god because the specific reason his divine in-laws were pissed at him marrying their daughter was because it meant she would be fated to die one day like mortals.) But Joe is correct: even when Storm's End came its closest to being conquered, when it was besieged by the King of the Reach Gyles III Gardener, he ultimately abandoned the siege with the castle still untaken upon the King of the Rock invading the Reach. And the Andals also failed to take the castle after "seven" sieges (very likely not actually seven; the Andals just can't not have everything important be numerically represented by 7, 77, or 777.)
Hi Joe great video. Could you do a video on your prediction for ALL Robert’s real children vs his “supposed ones” with Cersei. I see where you’re going with Edrick Storm but what role do you see Gendry and Mia playing in the end game. Cersei believes that all Robert’s Bastards are dead......
I like this idea. But the only issue I have with this is JonCon's HATRED for the Baratheons. He wants to end Robert's line. Installing one of Robert's bastards into a position of power is something he would never agree to. Aegon is coming into his own and is less obedient to JonCon now that he's no longer in hiding. But as much as this is something that would benefit his cause, it seems like he would share JonCon's aversion to raising up a kid who is the son of the man who killed his father which led to the murders of his mother and sister.
I mean it’s possible the plan is using him to take the castle then immediately executing him that sounds like a John con thing to do especially considering he’s already resigned himself to sacrificing all of his honor. And then aegon would probably not be OK with that and I don’t think he would actually have a problem forgiving the kid for the sins of his father and raising him.
@15:58 Naw; Shireen ought to be safe in the books. Although ShowStannis and BookStannis both love Shireen, BookStannis also knows that he needs an heir when he takes the throne. Renly had no kids and all of Robert's actual kids are bastards, so Shireen and her child(ren) have to be the ones to continue his family line. He gives orders to Ser Justin Massey that no matter what rumors Ser Justin hears about Stannis' demise, or if those rumors are true and Stannis is dead, Justin is to continue with his mission to use the Iron Bank's blank-check-loan to hire as many sellswords as necessary to defeat the Lannisters/Boltons, with Shireen being the one who their side will put on the throne if Stannis doesn't live to see victory. Also: in another instance of BookStannis being smarter and more sane than ShowStannis, in the books he leaves Shireen and Selyse at Eastatch (later Castle Black,) when he marches to war because he knows they'll be safer there with the Night's Watch (who will fight to defend them on principle due to them being guests,) than on campaign with him. As of the end of ADwD, Shireen is still at Castle Black, and Melisandre (who is also at Castle Black,) has not even had the thought of sacrificing Shireen, let alone trying to persuade Selyse to do it (Selyse is a HARDCORE believer, but even if Melisandre were to suggest it, that's a big ask so she might refuse, unlike her show version/ShowStannis.)
Excellent theory. I’ve never heard the idea that Edric Storm could be used to take Storm’s End peacefully. I always just assumed that JonCon would pretend that the Golden Company was there to back Stanis, and then kill everyone once inside.
I just realised that Edmure Tully was used to take RiverRun peacefully too.
yup! Another good example of the concept.
golden company had already attacked a few castles in the stormlands so i doubt the storms end garrison would believe they were sent by stannis
That would surely also be beneficial to Aegon's cause

Seeing that Gendry took Edric’s place in the show, it makes even more sense that Edric will be legitimized by Aegon. Gendry gets legitimized by Daenerys in season 8.
Pull a Lan the clever and cover themselves in butter?
@@JoeMagician It would not be more logical if, after the golden company defeats the forces of Mathis Rowan (responsible for the siege after Mace returned to KingsLading), Jon Con shows to Gilbert (who would be at the top of the walls of Storm's end) that they have Edric Storm, and they will give him legitimately and turn him the lord of the StormLands if he surrenders the castle; and after Gilbert refuses saying that the lord of the StormLands is Stannis, in that same night, Gilbert's men,
loving Edric more than they love Stannis, and thinking of Stannis as a lost cause, throw him from the top of some tower, say that it was suicide, and then Elwood Meadows surrenders the castle once again. It would mirror the first Storm's end siege almost completely (i don't know if that is good or not).
These are my predictions, and I never would have gotten to them, if weren't for this video. (Sorry my english)
@@luiscaetano6184 I really like those similarities, Luis! Great points
@@JoeMagician"I can't believe it's not a Lannister!" Delicious.
I think that the friendship between Shireen and Edric is just another way to show up that this society has a million different ways to be cruel to children.
so true, they end up being enemys, torn apart by politics
JonCon is going to cause an outbreak of greyscale from Storm's End to King's Landing, and he'll be the one to flip out when King's Landing rings the bells signaling surrender.
Bells don't signal surrender.
Proof of the writing is that you can love stannis and still want to see aegon take storms end

Sir Pounce will win the final war.

If edric was raised in a noble household and born to a noblewoman and trained with weapons daily he could be a realistic claimant

Doesn't Edric already have a warhammer in the style of Robert's and the right size for one his age? Sent to him by none other than Varys.

At the end Edric or Gendry will be King of Westros. Imagine Gendry and Arya King and Queen

You're so underrated. I loved your theory on Prologue of A Game Of Thrones
The Taragaryens lost all claim to the Iron Throne the day of Robert Baratheon coronation.
He could legitimize him only on the basis he and his descendants give up all rights to the Iron Throne.

(I kid)

through trickery and false banners. book 6 will be lit AF
Would be funny if Stannis takes Winterfell only to find out that Storms End has fallen and most of the Stormlands are behind Aegon. 😂
Great stuff as always!

Before the proliferation of siege engines, starvation and guile were the only methods of conducting a siege. I think a Total War loading screen told me that once, and that game series really understands sieges in that they always suck for both sides and you want to avoid experiencing them as much as possible.
@0:39 really "the other First Men." Durran (and Brandon the Builder) weren't some other race of men separate from the First Men, Andals, Rhoynar, and Valyrian (and nor was Durran a god because the specific reason his divine in-laws were pissed at him marrying their daughter was because it meant she would be fated to die one day like mortals.)
But Joe is correct: even when Storm's End came its closest to being conquered, when it was besieged by the King of the Reach Gyles III Gardener, he ultimately abandoned the siege with the castle still untaken upon the King of the Rock invading the Reach. And the Andals also failed to take the castle after "seven" sieges (very likely not actually seven; the Andals just can't not have everything important be numerically represented by 7, 77, or 777.)

Yeah that's a definite issue I overlooked.
What is the name of this background music. I've heard it before. Please if anyone knows...
I've seen that drawing on Connington plenty of times before. My question is WHAT IS UP WITH HIS PROPORTIONS. His arms and chest do not add up???
Excellent thoughts here; sorry I missed the premiere.
Very well done video!
As a young man, there's a lot worse places to end up than Lys
Great Analyses 👏🏽
Hey, GREAT video!
I think that young griff being a blackfyre makes the most sense and its the most compelling & in line with the chaos of the books
