The Mummy is a running joke in the show. In the first season he was interrupted by OmniMan and Invincible and then this time he was interrupted by Invincible again.

Apparently Shrinking Rae did not survive in the comics and I kind of wish they had left it that way for the show. Seems a little cheap that everybody survived that whole interaction
Well in the comics they have access to a litany of Image Comic characters that they supposedly don't have the rights to for the show, like Brit, Tech Jacket, Wolfman, Savage Dragon, Spawn etc. And a lot of those characters play rather important parts in the comics. Particularly in the next BIG storyline, so I'm guessing they're going to have original characters from invincible take their spot like Shrinking Rae or maybe some new characters. But they did show Kid Thor & Knockout who I think are from Capes in the season 2 episode finale with the future Guardians, so maybe they have the right's to some characters but not all.

This season finale was still good, just not as insane as the season 1 finale. I don’t think Angstrom is dead though, because for seasons “main villain” he didn’t do much so hopefully he returns in season 3 to be a recurring threat

Season 1 ending was just more tragic we see emotional and physical growth in this finale

He gets nursed back to health, albeit more deformed, then he starts the Invincible War(AKA, sending 13 evil Invincibles onto our Mark's home dimension).
