Rescue and release of a litter with 20 Russell's Viper offspring!

Not a day goes without action at our field site! Recently, we got a snake rescue call and unexpectedly, we found a Russell's Viper with a litter of 2O offspring!
Russell's vipers are ovo-viviparous which means they give birth to live young around the month of June/July each year in this region of the eastern ghats.
The adult female and the entire litter was released safely away from human habitations.
