- In this video I explain two well-known examples of observer bias: the case of Clever Hans, and Rosenthal and Fode's experiment with "bright" and "dull" rats. Observer bias (or experimenter expectancy effect) is considered, along with an explanation for how to reduce this bias.

That's known as "Pygmalion effect" right?
Great video by the way!
Edit: It actually is! I've always heard about it and thought it's just some slef-development stuff, never heard of the rats experiment! Turns out it's called "Pygmalion (from Shaw's play) / Rosenthal (from this experiment) effect"
That's right, you might also be interested in Rosenthal and Jacobson's "Pygmalion in the Classroom" looking at how teacher expectations might influence school performance in children.
Thank you so much sir.......

Hi Michael! Needless to say, your videos are brilliant!! There’s just one issue- the mic. you’re using could be better. This one’s a bit unclear and hoarse at places.
Thanks! I agree about the mic quality, luckily I upgraded my mic soon after these early videos (I was just using the webcam mic) so the audio quality is much better for most of my other videos.
To be fair to Clever Hans perhaps it takes some cleverness to pick up on those cues? haha
