    Thank you Texas A&M Band for a truly outstanding performance Saturday night in Baton Rouge (it was a joy and privilege to see you). As a long time bandsman (and a tiger/rag' in Cajun fan, as a very proud uncle who has a nephew in the tiger band and another in the Louisiana Lafayette Band), I must say I thourghly enjoyed seeing your splendid band for the first time. Your traditional military style is a breath of fresh air, your articulation and music selection excellent and your traditional "brown shoe" army uniforms beautiful. I hope you noticed the standing ovation you got from the tiger fans (especially when you formed your famous "T" formation). You make it evident that no other country in the world could outfit entire football programs with its bands, color guards, dancers, and pageantry like the USA (how truly blessed are we to be Americans). Being an A&M college (like LSU once was) and embracing/celebrating our country's great military history/tradition makes me truly proud to be an American. The SEC is blessed to have your fine university in its conference; we appreciate your great traditions and I consider you (along with our outstanding LSU and Louisiana Lafayette bands) a national treasure. Please, don't ever change a thing and may God Bless our splendid universities.

    It's good to see a marching band conduct themselves maturely, every other marching band acts like clowns...

      What a tasteless comment. There are things the Texas A&M Band can do magnificanrtly that other will absolutely fail at.
      But there are also things that the Texas A&M Band will absolutely fail at and cannot do that other bands excel at, which also requires discipline and immense physcial and mental fortitude.

    What’s the story on the Marine walking, not marching next to one of the drum majors?

      He's one of the band directors, and possibly the head band director. They are all active military and wear their uniforms.

      Basically rotc cadets

    • @larkrey5325
      @larkrey5325 2 года назад

      Texas A&M has the largest multi-branch ROTC program, outside of a military academy in the US. Less than half of the cadet corps go on to be commissioned officers in the US military. Many in the corps just want leadership training and/or to be part of the band (which requires you to join their ROTC program).

    Oh that 1st piece ,the theme song of Audie Murphy the most decorated WWII from Texas

    • @suzanneyoung8011
      @suzanneyoung8011 4 года назад +3

      Interesting, because that song is a little over 100 years old and certainly predates Audie Murphy's heroics in WWII. The Aggie War Hymn was penned by soldier and A&M grad J.V. "Pinky" Wilson in 1918 while he sat in a trench in France during WWI. The finale of the song is the chorus to "A Hot Time in the Old Town" which dates back to 1896 and was a march played by military bands and has been featured in various shows and musicals.

    Camara lady have some respect and get to the side. Your presence amongst the band is not desired nor required. That also go for the tragic looking broads walking too closely along-side @ 3:39. We need only see the very fabulous band. FTAB!!
