A&M is the best University around! I’m so proud of them. Band is spectacular 💜💜💜💜💜 Daughter, son-in-law graduated from A&M and now grandson is a freshman there. Such a great place to go to learn and graduate with a degree. They take care of each other!
A Sooner and drum corps guy here. Aggie band is probably my favorite band in the college arena. Best part of any Aggie game for me. Great young men and women who perform brilliantly!
Wish I had gone to A&M my dad taught physics there ‘70-‘90’s until ‘the move’ to Nashville for his job at Vanderbilt changed things. A&M Consolidated hs marching Band was a great experience. This bands tradition has remained unchanged & perfected in a way as if it steps back into time, from all of the people who’ve kept this tradition alive & for all of the future generations to come. Nostalgic band, always & forever Gig ‘em👍
All those sips throwing up hookems and all I could think the whole time we were marching through was, "Tough luck, the longhorn band ain't here. Guess you'll have to settle for the best band in the country."
If you know what happens at Fiesta, UT and A&M alternate day and night parades, although A&M usually gets day parade (Battle of Flowers) and UT night (Flambeau)
WE FEED THE PARSON'S MOUNTED CAVALRY TACOS UPON THEIR ARRIVAL, AND FEED THE BAND AT AGGIE PARK ABOUT 1430 HOURS. COME AND JOIN US WHOOOP! '15 SPREAD THE WORD!
Does anyone know the name of the song they play 4 minutes into the video? I keep hearing that song from various bands and it's driving me insane trying to remember.

Ross Volunteers are junior and senior cadets wanting to remain relevant in their sunset corps years. Practice, practice, practice and practice some more.
Sorry if it hurts your feelings but for being jrs and srs they haven't learned to march in unison. VMI, and the military academies would not tolerate this.
Jerry Berglund A&M was an all male school founded in 1871. Mandatory involvement in Corps of Cadets. With most going into the military. Band is part of the corps of cadets. And still is. Today, there are approximately 2700 in the corps of cadets. About 40 to 50% of those still take military contracts and enter the military. The band is a major unit and part of the corps of cadets. All members of the band are automatically members of the corps of cadets. They live together. They drill together and practice together and they work out together. Females were let in to the university somewhere around 1970. And of course today, there are females and males in the corps of cadets. Hope this helps explain it. @@morristimothyj Ok, thanks for the info. :-) But still cant find info about their uniform. I mean they are riding on horses, and still wear a uniform for mount back riding. :-)
Jerry Berglund en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_A%26M_University_Corps_of_Cadets The uniforms are designed after World War II. The cavalry uniforms are also the same. They would’ve been what was ridden in World War I and World War II.
The boots are also a symbol. They’re called “Senior Boots”, are worn only by seniors. They are hand-measured and custom made for each cadet by a local boot maker called Holick’s originally founded by the first Aggie band leader, Joseph Holick, in 1891. Depending on the materials used, Senior Boots start at about $1000 a pair and go up from there. Considered a right of passage, most cadets order their boots their freshman year so they can wear them as seniors. It’s a fantastic tradition. .
It would have been great IF ONLY you had a focused picture! Half the time the focus was so bad it was impossible to see a face. I'm an LSU alum and fan but Ya gotta love the Aggies and their traditions!! :)

I should've been smart enough in '95 to enroll at TAMU, but I wasn't. I wish I could go back and do things right.

That Freshman drill squad looked like they were out for a Sunday stroll.
That was pretty much a Sunday stroll. And not the Fish Drill Team.

Shame the drill team were out of step:-)
Is really having to ask, is that bad actually having boots with spurs on? Is it a cavalry band of somesort?

Hey, FAMU, look, real marching to real music. Not dancing and high stepping. They can actually move in unison, minus the egos.
As an Aussie this is sort of funny. Very patriotic but I don't like the boots look like the Germans in ww2
