"How To" Install 4th Gen Firebird Clear Tail LIghts

- Update 10/9/20. I was getting moisture in both lights which didn't make any sense because my seal looked good. I finally found the issue. The tail light light bulb socket rubber gaskets were worn and not sealing. It was mainly the reverse lights, and the little outer lights. Both wiggled when locked in which they should not. I put brand new gaskets on all of the light bulb sockets and they are all super firm now and I'm not getting any moisture inside. My regular tail lights didn't have an issue before hand but I think disturbing them to swap lights, the 20 year old rubber doesn't expand like it used to.
Here's how I installed my clear tail light covers with easy performance sequential LED boards.

Wow those are amazing. King of the 4th gen. You have a special talent sir
Haha, thanks
Best looking TA lights PERIOD, will be doing this in the near future. Great job and thanks for the details.
Thanks!
Awesome job and tutorial!😁
Thanks, hope it helps some people.
Very detailed video's as always great job. Can't wait till i do mine.
I thank you for posting this how to video. I'm attempting to do this soon and with the Easy performance sequential leds also. Good to know to get the lenses frosted and the thin mirror lexan to use between the leds and the lenses.
Man, you are always coming up with ways to modernize these 4th gens. Awesome work as usual. Also have you thought about any ways to implement fiber optics like some of the newer style cars?
These 4th gen Firebirds are timeless
Could you use that sequential light board on a 4th gen camaro ? Love your vids btw very nice
No the boards won't fit. It doesn't look like they make a camaro version unfortunately
I know this video is old, but can you tell me how you added the LEDs to the board to fill the edge of the light?
from the look of the boards, there is a button on the back to change the LED sequence.. Do you you change the sequence once installed? Or I am I missing something else? LED boards are here, still waiting on the backordered lens.
Yeah you can change the sequence once installed. The button can be accessed through one of the light bulb sockets holes on the back. Still a pain if you ever want to change them though.
Nice 👍. By any chance are these sold already modified?
Contact mark at racing@irocmotorsports.com. He sells the clear lenses and one of his options is for a full assembled set. It wont have the led boards inside like mine. It'll just be for complete lights that take the standard bulbs.
Can you tell me how you got the red light under the taillight?
In the end of your concern about water in tail lights does that apply also when washing it? I got my clear honeycombs and im afraid of washing it cause i dont want water in between those lens
It depends on how well the seal is when doing the install. It just takes a pinhole and water moisture will get in. In my case it ended up being the light bulb socket gaskets. I daily drive the car I put the clear tail lights on and winter is almost here so I put my stock tail lights back on. I don't want to put the clear ones through freezing rain, snow, etc. I'll put them back on in the summer.
Do you make these for anybody outside for yourself.
Nope I don't. Iroc Motorsports now sells complete tail lights with custom designs now.
Ha ha haven't seen you in along time..
Where did you get the lids from
