Thanks Christine for a wonderful presentation of the 10 hardest Afrikaans words. Good heavens, as an Indian guy who lives in Australia, I prefer the easier option of plain spoken English. It’s quite hard for me to get this language which appears an old form of Dutch. If one can learn Afrikaans, it’s just about amazing though and a certain guarantee to keep our tongue and vocal cords in good health. I now know why the white South African accent is so damn cool especially spoken by your Springboks rugby players. 👏👏🌷❤️
This video was soo cool and funny. I really enjoyed it. The "r" sound is not difficult for me because we have absolutely the same sound in my native Bulgarian language. But the "g" sound is a challenge... Definitely. It doesn't feel natural to me but I'm trying really hard to pronounce it correctly. I've been repeating "goeie" for the last 10 minutes... 😄🙏 Thanks a lot for this lesson! I already subscribed to this wonderful channel. Sending greetings and love from Bulgaria! ❤️☺️🇧🇬🇿🇦
Julle het môre verkeerd gespel. 🤦♀️ Sonder die kappie sê mens 'n o voor 'n enkele medeklinker as "oo". You spelled môre wrong. The diacritic mark "kappie" is required to change the pronunciation. An o before a single consonant immediately followed by a vowel will produce a long o sound. See bore as in the plural of boor (drill) which is pronounced with a long o similar to "groot".
shes clearly not american tho? fooken boer, people like you give Afrikaaner a bad name, i might be a colored SA but Afrikaans is a language you should share, even if she was messing up shes still tryna teach be respectful my guy
I think most youngsters nowadays have some sort of Americanised accent in the English speaking world. I see this even in Australia which is sort of weird.

A difficult one is GEGEWENS but useful for clearing a blocked throat. Compare the G sound with the word LOCH any Scot will know it. Or ACH in german
