As someone who gets a lot of their high-end makeup and skin care at TKMaxx, I like a video like that. One tip as a frequent shopper I have is, to always ask the cashier or a other employee to open the powder product before purchase, to see if its still in tact or has been touched, if it doesn't has a seal. My favourite finds have been 2 Huda, 2 classic ABH palettes and WYCON brushes - I never heard of the last brand before, but because the brushes are goat hair and one was 3€, I took a leap of faith that I didn't regret. I got a close friend the same brush set and as a makeup beginner, she likes it. Another tip I have is to ask about the days they get new merchandise and shopping in the morning on these days.

Asking about the day they get new makeup is so smart!! I’m gonna do that at my two fave locations. Great tip. I recently got a Pat McGrath trio with 2 blushes and a highlighter for $20! Wild. I’ve been seeing glamlite there which I love && all the big norvina palettes. Jaclyn Hill for dayyyys. Some amazinggggt gift sets post Christmas && they’re already reduced cuz of the set then again when they get there.
Yes! I agree. The employees can open things for you so you can make sure they are not used or out. of date.
@Elisa Beary God, I wish we would get this good of products 😫 so far, I haven't seen anything this good. But we frequently get Perricone M.D. and it's now a staple for me. TKMaxx is also one of the best places to get Korean skin care in Germany.

I work at a TJX store in the US and yes we start marking items down after they are on the floor for a few months. And then, twice a year we completely get rid of any markdowns and get rid of them. So usually items are salvaged after 6 months but it’s extremely unlikely an item will be in the store longer than a year. This is not only for beauty but also home and clothing items.
It’s the same for me in Canada! I work at a TJX store too, and we often go mark down or throw out items that have old dates.
I don't work there anymore, but I worked at Marshall's for almost 5 yrs. Mark downs were a production. Lol
Ex TK Maxxer here! We used to have to go around and mark anything that didn't sell within a few months down to try push it out. You'll see the week number on the sticker letting us know which week it came in and this is how we monitored what needed reducing. If any make up had been used it would be zeroed out and binned for hygiene reasons! We got told that its tk maxx here as there was already a tj Hughes and they didn't want it too similar, so just replaced the j with the next letter in the alphabet 😅
Hey Robert 💜 Pupa is an Italian brand, it was very popular here in the 90s/2000s cause they used to make (still do tbh) this super elaborate trousse make up sets in playful shapes like angel and devil, whales, carousels, matrioska dolls, etc 😂 the products are average, but they’re still going strong in retail stores. I have a Kokeshi doll from PUPA (btw "pupa" in my language, Polish, literally means "butt" haha) from the early 2000s. The cosmetics inside are old and useless but the packaging is so cute that I still keep it :)
@@LaraPL many people used to collect them for the packaging alone! There was a real frenzy. As for the name, “pupa” is like a slangish/old way to say “doll” (both as in the toy and as in a flirty way to address a woman). Thank you, cause now I know I will giggle every time I walk by a Pupa display 😂

I just found a Pat McGrath highlighter and my Estée Lauder foundation. HUGE SCORE! I could tell you were uncomfortable so thank you for doing this. I love these kind of videos. Very relatable.
Patting on shadows is such an underrated technique. Everyone is always 'sweep, sweep, sweep!' but patting is so nice for me. The Earth & Ocean palette is so NICE!!
Every time I use blue in my eye makeup I start feeling that I look like a child who raided mom’s purse. 💄

The best thing I ever got at one of those discount stores was a full size Laneige lip mask, specifically the Choco Mint one in the pale green jar that you can only get around the holidays. I had only been able to get it in sample sets but always wanted a full size. I was stoked when I found it for like $9 about a month ago! It’s my favorite one. It just feels like a nice minty lip mask and I love how the Laneige formula helps my chapped lips! 💚

Makeup brushes are something I don't branch out with a lot. I've had most of my brushes for about a decade and I'm set in my ways with them. It's too complicated to try new ones. 😂

I feel like the only thing I want is a super narrow blending eye brush and I'm good. But yeah I've had mine for a long time. The real techniques brushes with the sticky handles lmao 😂
When you're talking about needing YOUR brushes... that's so real. I'm an artist of a different sort and when I use new tools I always feel like the work isn't 100% right at first!!

I always float on down the makeup aisle in B&M Bargains, and I'm like... 'should I'... A whole shelf full of brands nobody has ever heard of, for about £4 for foundation. What could go wrong? 🤣🤣

i always fly to these videos! i feel like TJ Maxx is similar to thrifting in the way that what you buy is rather a slam dunk hit or an absolute miss.
edit: the best product i’ve gotten from one of these stores was a MAC lipliner and lipstick duo and some smash box highlight & contour sticks that i used until they were literally scratching my face.

same here! I found a MAC Ruby Woo lip liner, and lots of awesome Stila liquid lipsticks and eye colours. Always feels like hunting:)

I recently got a BUNCH of great makeup at TJ Maxx all at once, which never happens! I got a MAC highlighter, a MAC setting spray, the Urban Decay Wild West Naked pallette, and a KVD long wearing lipstick for under $50 total. The hardest part is finding the ones without open packaging. It's easier when there are several of the exact same item in stock. I tend to sanitize everything when I get it home, just in case. I absolutely love your videos and you have truly helped me up my makeup game in the best way possible. Thank you so much for everything you do! You're an angel and I'm forever indebted to you for helping me slay every makeup look I try ❤

I literally can't live without the shampoos/conditioners/leave-ins/hair masks from TJ Maxx, though. Giant bottles that last nearly a whole year, even when I share them with someone else, is so good on the wallet, and thankfully, even better on my curls.
Plus, all my skincare comes from there, and I've recently found innisfree and CosRX on the shelves, so I'm absolutely addicted.
(**Tip: Google the skincare product before buying to make sure it's meant to be the color whatever is on the shelf happens to be. If it's supposed to be clear but it's tinged yellow, skip it.)
Those are great finds! I haven’t been there in years - I still have some furniture pieces and a lamp I found there 15+ years ago! Im def going to make a trip if Korean skincare is involved and good shampoo 🙌🏼👩🏻🦱

To answer your question about "How long do we keep the beauty products on the floor" from my short time working there we would keep the beauty products until it sells out. If we have new shipment coming in and we noticed that certain products are not selling, we'll mark them down (clearance).

Just after Becca was no longer a thing I found a bunch of product at TJmax. The foundation unfortunately wasn’t my shade. But I bought three of the light shifter finishing veil powders and I love them. I’m so sad that they no longer exist, but they should last awhile.

As someone with lashes that grow straight out/down, I feel you. I also wear glasses, so most false eyelashes are a "NO" for me. I use an eyelash curler then just a light coat of the Clio Kill lash waterproof mascara. I let that dry, then put another mascara on top. The Clio keeps my lashes up all day! Many blessings!💖💖💖

Loved this video! I have had luck with a few things from there in the past but not a ton. It’s usually colors that don’t go with my skin tone so I don’t buy a bunch there. I do however shop the rest of the store and find deals. This was super fun! Please do more!

In one of our T.J. Maxx stores in the NE, I found the most PERFECT Morphe liquid blush color for my skin. I had never used anything but powder blush before and wow! It was so easy to blend and so very nice, I've been trying all kinds of liquid and cream blushes ever since. Many on your recommendations. Thank you so much for your content!!! ❤
Would you ever try the florasis makeup? Their packaging is beautiful but really expensive I'd love to see you try them if you haven't already

i used to work in the body & bath section of TK, deliveries would come in most days and if an item doesn't sell within 6 weeks, it gets put into clearance and then the price is reduced every 3 weeks after then until sold. so we wouldn't keep anything long enough in the store for it to expire. Also we regularly check the make up table to discard opened products because we can't sell them due to hygiene, unfortunately this doesn't get checked as thoroughly as it should in some stores

I got the same eyeshadow palette from Tk Maxx recently! So cool to see you using it.
Pupa Is a very 80s italian brand which used to be very popular for its artsy palettes in various 3D shapes (Russian Dolls, Animals, carousel etc.). It was the most precious gift because every palette contained eyeshadows but also lipsticks and blushes. Not very suitable for travelling, but very nice to use at home and display. It once were a bit chalky and not very pigmented, I'm proud of them for stepping up.
I love videos like these!! Please do more of them (I've never been into a Space NK or a Boots!! So it would be fun to see what those are like for us in the US!
Don't worry about filming yourself talking, just do some quick videos walking through showing the products - most of the other makeup influencers I follow also hate and are so embarrassed to talk in public while recording so do NOT feel bad! 😍

My mom used to wear a lot of Pupa makeup. I always found them to be really nice quality, and they have a lot of those types of multifunctional palettes so some of my first “fancy” makeup was Pupa. ❤

i got the abh moon child glow kit at a tj maxx once and that was probably my best find ! i had really wanted that glow kit when it first came out so it was nice to finally have it even though it had been maybe 5 years at that point

Pupa is amazing - very underrated and great fragrances too. Very popular in Eastern Europe and sold in their high end department stores. I think made in Italy. Such a good price for the quality too 😊

As a frequent flyer to the TJ Maxx and Marshall's in my area (they are the same parent company), I think the best tip for finding great makeup in these kinds of stores is to really know your stuff and be aware of brands that look like knock-offs. Some of the best makeup I own has come from these two stores but it is never a one-and-done trip. It may take months for me to find something that I can justify buying even with a reduced price simply because my collection is getting too large for me to handle reasonably. The best products that I have found from my stores were Pat McGrath palette, Pat McGrath x Bridgerton collection, Glamlite x Barbie palette, Glamlite x Icee (both palettes), Glamlite x Frosted Flakes, Jaclyn Cosmetics, Colourpop, Laneige lip mask, banila Co Clean it Zero cleansing balm full-size, assorted Glossier products, and the list keeps going. Having knowledge of the brands that you like and even knowing the typical price of products goes a long way when helping to find what is worth the reduced price. I hope this helps anyone that loves a good bargain!
Literally I feel the same every time I have tried to do a come shop with me but in tkmax I just feel so much more on edge. Love this video. I actually love the blue on you and the best thing I found was a reduced Charlotte tilbury eyeshadow Pallete but I never actually bought it❤I have this foundation and I genuinely can’t make my mind up whether I like it or whether I hate it ❤

I’ve had some really nice Japonesque brushes from there, and quality nail varnishes like Essie. One of my favourite finds was a beautiful (but a couple of years old, obviously) Marc Jacobs eyeshadow. I’d be slightly wary of mascaras from well-known brands as they can sometimes be a bit old and dry but anything powder should be fine as long as it doesn’t have people’s gross fingerprints in it. Things like lip and eye pencils- if they’re not sealed, you can break off the tip, sanitise the pencil itself and then sharpen the tip. They always have Dr. Lipp lip balms which I LOVE ❤️
The best things I've found have been highlighters from Becca and Fenty. I also love my BH cosmeticss travel palettes. This was such a fun video! I am still on the hunt to find some Pat Mcgrath at TJ Maxx!

The best thing I've ever found is candle holders. I found some moody reddish ones and a sparkly crystal looking lotus. I am big into glassware and they were a steal

I have a couple of the Huda Beauty Neon Pallets from T K Maxx, they are probably my best buys. I also got that Rimmel Jelly Highlight in a beautiful baby pink with a slightly blue shimmer. It's gorgeous! x
Love TK Maxx, they had tarte and Huda the other day, I’ve found sigma, Korean skincare, I’m obsessed, I probably pay at least one persons wages lol

Problem is somebody always opens the palettes and makes a mess 😢
TK Maxx was the only way I could try some of the higher end products 10+ years ago when I couldn't afford paying the full price (and still like a bargain!)
