  • This is a very powerful start to the conversation I, as an Iraq War veteran, had with a Vietnam Veteran. My goal is to show and educate people how (most) combat veterans talk to one another in a natural conversation. Don and I had not met in person before, but this is the first segment of many of how we just sat down and talked about things roughly 3 hours after we met in person.

It was a good talk that I believe will be able to help not just vets, but people in general who are struggling in life.

It was a really good talk with Don, Happy we got to talk about a lot of hard hitting things. and hopefully others who go through the same issues wont think they are alone in their struggles.

@@MikeB128 Not only that but real talks like this about war/military service help young people realize what it is really like it tends to be romanticised nowadays.

I agree. There's nothing romantic about it, and I hope we stop having people sent over to wars that have nothing to do with us.

I’m a firm believer that veterans experiences should be documented in this way in order to preserve them. A lot of these older guys are dying and it’s important their experiences in their wars are preserved for future generations

Thank you! This is the first of about 12-13 segments (usually around an hour long) of our conversation. It goes WAY more in to the weeds, and I hope that people will try to understand why war is NOT a good idea, and also be able to hear Don talk about it in real time as long as RUclips exists.

Really interesting video. I like how you keep it real and fairly casual.

Great interview, Mike - please post more! It is very interesting to listen to Don's stories, he really paints a picture. During the Korean segment I was constantly reminded of M*A*S*H 🙂
