*Meeting after 53 years*
Women: "OMG cant believe you're alive. We have so much to talk about"
Men: "Want a beer ? "
Women:"You wear the same dress as me. I hate you!"
Men:"We wear the same stuff. Bro-time!"
Same meaning, really. Just different wording.
@@justyouraverageyoutubeacco256 that's what a woman would say.
@@justyouraverageyoutubeacco256 you seem a little lunatic. Psychosis: it's treatable.
@@justyouraverageyoutubeacco256 you did not "point out" something, you are just too dumb to get a lame joke.
“I got a beer, you want a beer?”
That’s true friendship right there
That’s more than friendship, that’s brotherhood
@@zachboyd4749 how bout you lay off the cumguzling for one day, then maybe youll stop talking about brotherhood all the time.
@oh hiThere's almost nothing more American than 2 war vets sharing a beer. God bless the USA
@@mr.mitchell6374 you sir should keep your mouth shut. These men fight so your stupid mouth could be free. This is true brotherhood.
@@pthebeast2 Great reply. "You want a beer ?" ... "I could probably stand one." Great response and great story.
I love how he still calls him young man
I Adress all men with young man, and it's funny, cause I've been doing it for years, and when someone is older then you, and you say that to them, it certainly cheers them up.
That's old guy talk, but there is respect in his words.
My boss calls everyone that. Even guys older than him
I work retail, and my coworker is in his 50's himself. He knows a LOT of people. A lot of older genntalmen. He always says "How's it going young man!" And they're in their 70-80's. I giggle every time. I absolutely love it. Lol!!!
That was the part for me too. Glad I stuck around to very end
Those are your real friends. Haven’t seen each other; Hey haven’t seen you in 40 years, want a beer lol.
Sadly thats untrue....how do you not stay in touch after sitting back to back with your LIFE a whisper away from the TALKING TREE'S ?
@@jafo766 It would probably have a lot to do with the stigma the war represented. They lost, that leaves a sour taste in all of their mouths. They weren't treated too well when they arrived back home neither.
@@T.R.U.T.H.. Lost ?..I recall a Peace Treaty , humble of Ho to allow the departure let's say.....The B-52's were more than a ROCK LOB$TER BAND.....

My dad was killed over there in 69. He was a CO and in the last twenty five years I have grown close to several of his men. They are the best of the best and I thank God everyday they made it home and are a big part in my life !
Prayers for you Robbin🇺🇸
Your father I’ll bet was a awesome young man‼️
Robin Rasmussen What Steven Brown said. Along with....Thank you, because of your father's ultimate sacrifice, we are here today. RIP sir
Know what ? I'm really glad for you.
Alexander Supertramp Yes, his father died an honorable death and deserves a lot of honor. But, the Vietnamese wouldn’t stand a chance having to go over the ocean to America. And we shouldn’t have been in the Vietnam war, it was useless cause.
It's horrible a lot of the men from that era were shamed out of their uniforms when they got back. Ultimate respect to your father and his brothers.
I love how the daughters crying and vern and ted are like "look at you you old bastard!"
@Tennessee outlaw humans neurologically are identical. There's no difference in "beings" humans are emotional beings, not just women. Normally I don't go around white knighting either, but your statement about human nature was so vastly wrong I just had to say something.
@@Animanatee thanks pucci

@@trii0dide no need to thank me, I'm just stating facts.
I heard "young man" but ok
Miltairy friendships last. Even when you didnt speak in 50 years the minute you see each other again you simply continue where you were 50 years ago
Very very true
Yes it's quite rare to have those kind of people in your life that you lose for some time and after you meet again you just pick up the conversation where you left off.
Yep 100% as if time stood still my late dad was ARMY SOF 1968 Tet ,he was 26over there.

This narrator is terrible. Talking over and interrupting what the old guy was saying added no effect to the story.
Completely agree
Don't blame the narrator. It's the editor and writers fault. Mostly the editor.
I was just thinking the same thing, ruined a great piece
Probably to help blind people understand what is happening on screen. May be annoying to us. But it helps people who can’t see.
@@MrHestichs Perhaps this is the same person?
When he said.. "i always looked upto you vern" true friendship.
We in our minds are still young men, just living in old bodies nowadays ...
And you're my hero's. Thank you isn't enough. God bless you all.

Thank you for your service.
My great uncle was a Vietnam vet he doesn’t like to talk about it, my aunt told me when he came home, he had really bad trench foot so much so he couldn’t walk coming off the plane on a wheelchair and all the spectators spat on him. Because the media was spreading lies saying our soldiers were were killing women a children. she stood there in horror and he wheeled himself to her covered in spit. I cried when she told me that story, I hugged him so hard after she told me that story he’s now 83. God bless our veterans
Much Respect for Your Uncle
So glad you made it home ! My brother did 2 tours . He didn't know when he was coming home. I was eating breakfast at the kitchen table, and heard a knock on the back door ! There he was ...the best day ever ! Mom cried tears of joy ! We called Dad at work. He was a mechanic repairing trolley cars ! The guys at work said he flew out of pit , and raced to the phone ! He must've broken land speed records driving home ! I think it's the only time didn't get upset with him for wearing his greasy clothes in the house ! I wish his return home was as wonderful ! Of course we didn't know my brother had a similar experience at the airport out west . Thank for his service, and give him big hug ! The Vets deserve our respect, and gratitude !
they were killing women and children...a very small percent but it happened. fool. think for yourself
kikoredog yes a very small percent raped and murdered but the majority were good people that unfortunately got drafted
@@kikoredog And some of those women and children were killing our soldiers.
That’s the most Minnesota thing “ I got a beer, want a beer?” (Edit) To anyone that is wondering, I’m from Minnesota so I hear this all the time.
It's a midwestern thing. God bless the midwest.
insertnamehere I’m from California and a few years ago my wife and a few friends decided to take a trip to the Midwest. We flew into Minneapolis rented a van and off we went. I was a bit hesitant seeing as how I’m Mexican American and our friends are Japanese American you know you here things. However I’m 52 and know that you need to experience things for yourself before judging. I’m a very social person so making friends has never been an issue for me. I tell you what we had the time of our lives and met some great people and ate some great food along the way. We couldn’t believe the hospitality. One time in particular we went into a sport bar of some kind and the place was packed due to a football game that was on but the people in the place made room for us and let’s just say we had more than one spotted cow with them hahaha. Once the game was over most of the people left but the staff made sure we felt at home and they upgraded our table without even asking. It was like that the whole trip. Some of the best people I’v ever met! God bless you all and a big thank you!
Come on down here to New Orleans. You'll here that statement even more.
Thanks for the clarification I was like hmmm I wonder if this guys from Minnesota or something. Welp.
Sounded letterkenny ish
What an amazing daughter
U got the name before anyone else

My grandmothers generation had WW2 vets. My moms generation had Vietnam vets. I’m happy to have them in my family. I am proud to have family that served our country and that had the blessing to talk to these men. My great grandfather and his brother served in the Second World War. Sadly they are gone but I’m happy I got to meet and talk to them. God bless America

As a teenager(13) I use to wake up in the middle of the night to my father screaming vietnamese phrases at my mother, who would come running in my bedroom where my 2 sister's & I had our bunkbeds. I remember having to hit my father repeatly with the guard from top of the ladder. My mother crying & us all petrified just trying to survive another night of this madness. My father never said a word of things that had happened to him. Then 35 yrs later, long after he was gone, my mother had told me about a time when the whole squad my father was in, was wiped out except for him & another soldier. My father was master sgt. at the time & it was his squad. So I guess the guilt of a horrible thing, in a horrible war, took my dad away from me. Oh my father returned but my dad was left over in Vietnam.
Nice fabricated story.

"I am so glad to see you, young man," said by one of them. They are no longer as young as they were soldiers.
My father was a Vietnam veteran!👍
Thanks to your father for his service.

Not (WAS), he IS and always will be a veteran no matter the battle.
NEVER FORGET THAT.
Good to know that he's going to hell for what he did to those poor women and children 👍
My best friend after 35 years found me and we talked on the phone. He was in Missouri and I was in California. We cried as most of you know can happen..He thanked me for saving his life and when we touched base the next day, he found out I was a conservative and hung up..That is what politics has done to this country...Vietnam, 68-69. Sad story of our country.
Is that bad or good?
Narrator: Ted survived

I salute you my friends and THANK YOU for your services.

I was there when my father met a buddy of his from vietnam, 45 years (at the time) and he never seen or heard from anyone since. It was a shock to see my dad snap back into acting like a 20 year old again. Attitude, vocabulary, lingo and energy all came back that day. His buddy Ernie starts telling my brother and I stories about my dad and the local women and ofcorse my dad shuts him up right away but when he left to use the restroom Ernie ofcorse told us everything hahaha my dad and I are the only 2 army infantrymen in the family and after I earned my blue cord I noticed he opened up alot more to me about vietnam
Everyone handles going to war differently. I'm glad they were reunited.
Once a Vet, always a Vet, no matter if it was Vietnam. These men didn’t choose to go there. If anyone should be angry with that war, be angry with your war loving politicians who started that war. It was a real shame the way Vietnam vets were treated.
And where were ALL the rich kid's, being groomed to start the next war.
And who gets rich from wars that cost so many lives and how do they live with..............themselves?
Our forgotten warriors. God bless their souls. Came back to an ungrateful nation, but they are the first to welcome home our current warriors at airports. Semper Fi.
Why should USA have been grateful for what they did? They didn't make USA a better place, they just destroyed a country.

Elders approach each other:
How ya doing young man
Kids
Yes
All these protestors and rioters just think they're tough, those 2 guys had more fortitude in their pinky toe than all these new kids combined!
Respect!
Yet I’m sure you support the draft dodging coward. You realize those people are merely exercising their Constitutional rights to which these men fought for? To which my brothers and sisters fight for to this day? Grouping rioters and protestors in to one category does nothing but push our “President””s authoritarian agenda, don’t get it twisted. If you are a true supporter in the ideals these men fought for, you would be on the side of the protestors-not the man trying to stifle our rights.
