It's a crime that this wasn't every bit as successful as "Feel It Still". It's even better than that one IMO.
Right? I mean I'm not really into comparing songs, as every track does something different for every individual person who hears it... but this? This is freaking TRANSCENDENT compared to "Feel It Still".
"Feel" kind of wants you to slide back in time, I think. "Live" just wants you to value your own existence as it unfolds. I like the latter, but I absolutely **love** the former.
It's one of the very few songs in existence that actually inspires me to do as I'm damn well told.

Dear Portugal. The Man members,
Thank you for this song! I feel it is an extremely important message. One that I've tried poorly to relay to people for a lifetime. I say poorly, not because of a lack of my ability to communicate effectively, but rather, I've done so without much success. I'm just one humble man, a "no one", if you will, to the world. I do, however, still try to help people understand that less "ghost stories" and more evidence and empathy in their lives will help set them free. This song made me feel a bit less alone in the world in that regard. It is very difficult to express this concept to other humans. I feel that is mostly due to the millennia of enslavement conditioned into our very existence, as opposed to an inability to reason. I feel that people are much more aware that focusing on history causes depression, and trying to control the future causes anxiety, while "living in the moment" brings a sense of peace. It is impossible at this time in history for me to effectively explain the illusion of money to anyone I've come across in life, which is a pretty wide cross section around the world. Art like this may start to help people understand there is a real possibility of freedom in their life. At that point, the concept of money being the biggest illusion ever pulled off to control an entire planet's population won't seem so abstract anymore. Then collectively we can work toward that reality of freedom without giving up the things that make our modern world so wonderful. Even though I can logically prove this all to a person, it will still "not compute". What you have made here, I feel, is an important step in helping to fix that brokenness. I applaud you for the bravery to speak honestly from your heart to the whole world. Only true artists have the guts to do that, no matter the media they use. It does absolutely take courage to share your true self, especially if you're pretty sure most people won't quite get it, at least yet. I'd imagine you felt that way on some level with this piece, but infallible, I am not . Nevertheless, I personally did hear your message as interpreted by myself, hopefully correctly, and I think you did something great on this song. Again, thank you very much!
