It helps a lot when the dog is used to being groomed and sits still for pretty much everything. Id say this is a good time for a well behaved g. shepherd with a typical shepherd coat. The long coated ones definitely take a lot longer haha.

Such a sweet old girl! She's so unphased during the bathing. My g-shep sings the song of her people when being bathed despite being groomed and bathed regularly from a pup. She accepts the trearment but will not be silent about it 😅🤣
Same with my shepherd too!! She is very vocal about water being anywhere in the vicinity.

I love that sings the song of her people! We have three dogs a Bernese Mountain dog, German Shepherd and Border Collie bathing is quite the chore! However jumping in outside water or muddy puddles bombs away we can't keep them away.

The people that commented that this is abuse really bothers me, it's clear to me that you take wonderful care of this beautiful Shepherd and the fact that she is 11 years old and still healthy proves that! Great job grooming her, it takes a lot of love!
Maria Ramunno, if you mean me, I spoke about an internet groomer who was not kind or patient w/ her clients: she had no patience, often no caring, picking up or shoving them into place when they were too anxious to settle in. I found myself cringing. I write these things here in my own opinion, we all do here, don't we? If they help an owner or fosterer to check out any groomer, that's o.k. by me.
Girl With the Dogs is a great show. There's a whole lot of kindness going on in her salon.

At first glance, I could see why you picked her for your own. She has such an adorable face and the most precious soul looking through her puppy dog eyes. Now, with all that water, suds, conditioner, and pretty spritzer she looks like she is ready to go to Sunday School XOXO
Through it all, she remained dignified and lady-like. A true ambassador of her breed. She is absolutely beautiful! One thing stands out to me, since your job entails doing this to multiple clients in a day, and you still choose to have a large double coated dog, which requires a lot of maintenance, says to me, that you love your work. You are the type of groomer I would trust my boys, also GSD's, to get excellent care and treatment from. Keep up the great work! 👍🏼
It makes me so sad to know this wonderful old girl is in her twilight years. Why can't Shepards live to be 30. Such a great breed. 👏

Our pups don’t live long enough.. I have lost many in my 69 yrs, but I have to have a pup to love.. I do it in honor of all of the ones that I’ve had before.

I found this video after reading about the sad news of Zoey's passing.
I'm sure she'll be waiting wherever it is dogs wait for their owners, wherever we go after we pass, because I'm certain the bond a dog has with their human, is one of the few true things in this world.
On the other hand, it would be nice if the channel had more videos like this, of full grooms. They're really pleasant to have on a second screen while working or doing something else, and if the doggo is a singer, they could well provide for fun entertainment.
In any case, I'm just glad the world and you had Zoey.
I remember another video where she was washing a German Shepherd that reminded her of Zoe. I enjoyed watching Zoe. Love German Shepherds.

Coz she applies Dirty Dog shampoo and then sprays it with her Vinegar + Water 50-50 mixture to dry up the speeding process. LMAO

Yes! It will help educate pet parents who sometimes wrongly assume their fur babies are sitting neglected in a kennel for hours.
That's never the case where I groom I only take two big dogs at a time so Im always multitasking and rotating the appointments so no one is in the kennel for longer than 30/40 mins to fully dry after the intial HV dry in the tub.
@@Anon_E_Muss sounds nice but our groomers had our dogs there for 6 hours and hadnt even gotten to them yet...

Funny, isn't it, how important in our daily lives & our hearts. When I was much younger she was my heart's companion. They are extraordinary dogs, Shepherds, I mean. My sweet girl was Never aggressive. She was adopted but abused a lot before she came to me. She chose me for her own. She trusted me & loved me with her whole being. She showed me what forgiveness is. She took a piece of my heart with her when she passed away. Your girl Zoe is special.
Every dog you have during your life takes a little bit of you with each them passing it's the worse feeling in world , actually tearing up here the thought of having go through that with my 2 dogs I have now , I like to think they all meet up at that rainbow bridge

Watching Vanessa use the undercoat rake is so satisfying. Amazing how much more undercoat comes off even after a wash, blow dry and first brush through! I bet her pupper feels so good now that her skin is free of excess fur!

I had never known a dog could hate baths so much but when I got my first dog she HATED it and now I have a puppy who couldn’t care less about being in the bath. Complete opposites but I love them both. Dogs are just the most amazing and odd creatures.
I think they say the same about us. "human is soooo cute!" "I can make my human give me treats when I want! Sometimes we forget that we (humans and dogs) have been in a symbiotic relationship for thousands and thousands of years, and, just as we do, they too have genetic ancestors, for better or worse.

I recently stumbled upon your videos, girl 2, and I have found them so therapeutic. Im a caregiver in a memory ward and my days are so mentally tiring. Its so nice to just watch you from. I then today looked for girl 1, and saw this. I put my big sheperd down a few yrs back, due to old age 14, he had a great life in a farm, but never ever would to near water. I should have started him early. Anyway, Miss Zoey looked so much like my Roc Dog, it has just made me smile. Sorry for the ramlbing, Keep doing what ya do! I love it!

What a magnificent creature Zoey is. Regal, kind and patient. She just allows you to do whatever you deem necessary because she loves you. I absolutely love Shepards!
Zoe is a beautiful Shepherd. She seems so sweet-natured and calm; very tolerant. What a good girl; even when she didn’t like some of the drying process. She did good!! Maybe you will reward her with some treats!! 😊😊❤❤❤❤

I love all of Vanessa's videos and find them relaxing and educational. Its good to know that there are such kind and patient groomers out there, which so much empathy for the animals.
I have had dogs for nearly 60 years, sometimes several at a time. I didnt realise how many breeds need groomer attention. ( we have had many breeds, rescues, and fortunately not inadvertently missed any grooming needs of those breeds) We curently have a yorkie cross which I clip myself, and a short haired terrier type that hardly needs brushing. Begore watching these videos I didn't really know about double coated dogs and had never seen undercoat blown out. Vanessa is so knowledgeable about all the breeds and their coat types. Shes brilliant.
Zoe is such a good, calm girl. Such a sweetie. I swear she's looking right into our souls, though. She stares directly into the camera, as though to say "Can you believe what I have to sit through?" 🥰🥰

My dog loved to swim. She was always the first one in the water no matter where we went swimming. You say the word bath a she acted like she was abused. Over thirteen years she put up with it but I think she would have called the ASPCA if she'd known how.

I just finished grooming my 5 Rottweiler/Collie mix huffer puppers, and after taking all day and fitting myself and each of them inside my bathtub with sliding glass doors, I really wish I had the walk-in setup like you have.
Watching all your videos, I cried almost all the way thru this one. It's uncanny the resemblance to my sheppy Sophia! I miss her dearly. She was also very good at bath time too. She did the head rub when her face was all done also. Just An amazing dog for her momma. I loved her to the moon and back and she was my people and carried all my innermost secrets. ❤

I recommend installing a ventilated exhaust system on the side so the fur goes that way and collects in a bag that you can easily deal with.
