My favourite drummer of all time. No cheesy face pulling.. just the expressions of a mortal man struggling to summon the ancient Gods, and then succeeding. Incredible!
One of the top reasons why he's your favorite is because he doesn't make weird ass faces while playing! 🤣 I fkn love this guy! I will admit that is an annoying trait.
When George walks home his legs get there 2 hours before he does
Hahahahahahahaha
fallen prophecy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lmfaoooo
JAJAJAJAJAJAJA lml
kollias is the best man
So technical, so clean, so fast, so musical. Amazing!!!
Lets see you cover this song lol
It's kinda, but just a little bit (get it straight), about speed too. Listening to it is basically the equivalent of watching an olympic 100m sprint;
"Holy shit, that's fast!"
Plus, drumming is just one aspect of the genre (extreme metal, in case you forgot). You got plenty of other reasons as to why people are drawn to this music, but I'd rather not waste my time writing an essay about it i a comment section.
Have a good day.
FreakOnTheLeaf
Freak on a lea..f 😂🤘
Keeps his eyes closed. It's like he knows right where to hit with the stick...... Man o man... he's a legend. :O
eyes closed, looks like he's done this before - fucking amazing, a true god of death metal - so much respect, puts machines to waste, if you have never seen Nile live, I suggest you do so, I have a skull for a face because it was melted off at the last show, fucking bravo. Talk about loving what you do, this guy is in heaven. The muscle memory for double bass is just mesmerizing.
He's my favorite wedding drummer :)
So you have to to be getting married many times though ...lol
I can imagine your mother in law.
go ahead with George, he will sort it out
Your lucky he has a jazz drumming background too
One of my favorite drummers of all times!!!
0:55 super clean double kick playing. pls everybody practice that. What George just does there is also a great workout on its own. :D 8th note straights to 8th note triplets and change between full leg -> ankle motion
Still the best live drummer I’ve ever witnessed
Congrats Vic Firth!! Great job George
Such a trip to watch him - fn amazing
JESUS!!!!!! Playing guitar on the DRUMKIT!!!!!! ❤😮❤
100% 😂
I came here to read all the ignorant shit people say about this style, never disappoints on how closed minded "musicians" are...
He played his ass off on that track! Killer dynamics and precision too
I think he's ready to play the triangle.
Yeah break the triangle! Lol
Talk about being able to play eyes closed... Absolute mastery on a particularly intricate song
SIMPLY THE BEST
always funny reading the elitist comments whenever Vic posts a metal drummer, y'all stay mad....
The drum kit has survived
Beautiful kit
Amazing level
That is sick!!!!!!
No matter what your ‘idea’ is, George leaves the floor with no one knowing what to say intelligently .. I mean...questions, yes...but, just blown away.
Petr Sandoval = man with eight arms
George Kollias= man with four legs
i like the part where he hit the bass drum
I didn't catch that part.
What time?
Which one? There were 3 of them. I liked the second one. He hit that bass drum with such a graceful "thump". It just stood out for me.
Look again, he didn't hit his bass drums, he gently brushed them to trigger the triggers.
That was awesome!
Джордж Коллеас-ВЕЛИЧАЙШИЙ АС🤘🤟😁👍👍👍!!!!!!!
Sounds like a really hard warm up
Tomas haake and George kollias my fav drummer 🙏
The part of double drum is amazing!
New video👏🏼👏🏼
Legendary
I really enjoy the fact that he is a extreme metal drummer, but uses the natural sound of drums, not a pile of triggers in everything.
That drum set is so big for me , and he is so big and can reach at a greater wide span ! Wow !
How freaking relaxed is he 🤷♀️🤷♀️
The greatest drummer ever 😍🤘🇬🇷
Έτσι!!!🤟🇬🇷🤟!!!
He gets a lot of mallet swing with his swivel technique. Most people can barely get the mallets hitting.
who would win in a drum battle, GK or Nils Dominator?
👀👀👀
Good job Georges .
Excelente!!
Literally the greatest metal drummer ever.
Kevin Bergquist not as hilarious as replying to a comment over a month late.
Kevin Bergquist ever heard of 'yo mama jokes'? 'Knock knock, jokes? All way past dead. Like your comment. Need any more clarification?
Some fusion influences in here :)
amazing \m/
Unreal drummer !
Dang! I was sweating just watching this. 🥵
That pedals sprint is killing!!
absolutely gutted i missed this performance (and the entire festival) but i didnt plan on having a nervous breakdown when i booked the tickets xD
George could walk a straight line in a 12.0 earthquake...bastard is bad ass!!
Im surprised bass drum heads survived w/out beater/kick pads..?!
@@robertfinch6602 they damn sure take a beating lol 😆
@@saintdeathangel freaking love that video you have
@@robertfinch6602 which one?
Well the point here is that Vic Firth sticks were durable enough to withstand George Kollias' Playing HAHAHAHAHA!
Vic Firth Favorite Sticks!
G.K. Legend!
You are a monster George
When GK does a drum clinic all drummers attending quit thereafter.
he looks bored and exhausted at the same time.
Great man
drummer I love after JOJO Mayer
His prog metal drumming is very good! I'm tired of his brutal death metal style.
He smashes grapes one vineyard at a time
How did they mic the bass drum? I'm seeing neither a mic nor a trigger! Or am I blind?
The triggers are on his pedal, Axis E kits.
I think he uses triggers that are attached to the pedal itself and not the bass drum head
Now I'm seeing it too! Thanks! That's quite amazing!
What's the song called?
Eat of the dead
If George Kollias were to use a stair master at full speed his feet may just propagate a rift to another dimension
Hes a really great drummer, if you biased jazz drumming specialists dont like it fuck off! In my opinion hes one of the best drummers ever
Love the Chuck tho
🤘
There's a lot of triggered Jazz lovers in the comments.
Heyitsbacon ironic thing is, he is also jazz drummer
He has the same last name as my mom and they are both Corinth, does that mean we are related 🤔🤔🤔
I think he is way better drummer than the rest of his band on their instruments
Omg George you just look like your bored I can't waiting to see the greatest drummer ever and the heaviest band ever when you come to Portland Oregon I've been following you for tens yrs + and bro you keeps getting better every year god made you to give us the greatest drummer to listen to your feet are bionic pretty much and your folks are so fast yeah I'd need a Energizer drink to come close yeah right I'm.not a inch close to anything you play but I learn something Everytime I watch a vid your a big hero of mine George thank you opening my eyes to the many great things you can do on my fav instrument ever
Whoever thumbed this down is severely brain damaged.
mindrapeart doesn't sound biased at all
Maybe thoses are the big drums he kicks with his feet
He looks up a lot, praying he'll get it right this time.
I love whiplash
u r the best kollias
Great drummer
el ql crack
No triggers ??
There are triggers on his pedals. But everything except the bass drum is real i think.
Why he has tempo problem?
Never got that, actually.
A death metal god grazed that crowd with he's presence and all they do is a louzy applause.
His skills are literally unmatched. But fuck me if it doesn't sound like someone just put all drum hits in a blender and hit full speed
The song that he's playing is "What Should Not Be Unhearted" from the same album (2015) from his technical brutal death metal NILE
2:17 F**k Yiiiaaahhh! ✊😀
He make his blasts seems so natural...
I would be scared to put my laptop anywhere near that firestorm. That’s true faith in not dropping a stick.
It Needs More Cow Bell!
For all the blazing technical ability he still sounds human in a way that a lot of drummers of his breed can't quite manage. You can still hear the teenager jamming along to Slayer in his bedroom here. That teenager's just gotten real fuckin sick now.
Fuck the time of music ?????
Γεια σου ρε Γιωργαρα....
It was a huge drumset but it looks little when he sits there
Ο Δίας ο Θεός των θεών δίνει μαθήματα ντράμς.
This dude plays with his eyes close. Bach on the kit X 5
My arms are getting tired just watching this.
Death metal - the most complex of any music style
What his legs eat for breakfast?
George needs to do a drum battle against John Longstreth
2:16 how pros handle making mistakes
yeah but can he play smoke on the water ?!?!?!
Not quite my tempo
yeah, it is a little too relaxed.
Stale meme
Metal Rules
he's a great drummer I just wish the rest of the instrumentals were as good, the guitars sound really boring and generic
I’m pretty sure this is a track from his solo album. He wrote and recorded all of the instruments on that album. I mean it’s still kind of an average guitar but it was played by someone who’s primarily a drummer.
this is a nile song with no vocals, I think it's called what should not be unearthed
Nile can be called many things, not generic.
Now play wipe out ?
Modern Nile is sadly pretty boring to me. Technically proficient, for sure, hands down, no question. But.. I don't know. The music just doesn't go anywhere. It doesn't seem to build to anything, or have a clear dynamic thrust. Feels cut-and-paste to me. "Here's a blasty riff, here's a chuggy riff, here's a tremolo skank riff, etc". Early Nile wasn't like this.
HabAnagarek unfortunately bands get into “formulas” for songs. Like lamb of god
Would not be the original if it weren't for the constant "I'm dying"-look on his face. :D
Check please lol
Sorry chris turner join the show 😭
.........
He is the next evolutionaty step in rock drumming. What Neil Peart (RIP) did in the 70s does he these days. He should play with Alex and Geddy in memoriam of Neil.
Hes awesome...but is it just me or do pearl drums sound like you're beating on pizza boxes? No tone or sustain in the toms ever.
