I’m 52 and still outperform the 18 year olds that work with me in the military. I never work out, I would plainly embarrass them if I did. I can still play very fast metal and actually much easier than when I was in my 20s. 43 is only old if you let it be.
@@lucyferina that is true. I pointed it out because many death metal drummers at his age become very sloppy, and this is something i noticed in general. George ages like wine though.
@@sebbimon because when you get that age, the stuff you have to do to keep yourself that fit and adept becomes harder than when you’re young. Plus when people have been playing extreme drums for that long, it can wear down your tendons in your wrist.
Since Kollias was not that active on RUclips in the last years and I mainly focused on content from all the other high class metal drummers known mainly from this platform, it was easy to forget how advanced Kollias' playing is. In the first seconds it's already as tight, fast and powerful as you rarely see elsewhere.
Saw Nile live yesterday, i was in front row admiring the 4 of them, but i was mainly focusing on George. It was an honor being just 4/5 meters away from him. He's been my favorite drummer since i started listening to Nile in 2008. There are a lot of great drummers, but no one does it like George for me.
The man does it again. Kollias is definitely the Master of Metal. Props to the sound guys, the microphones are crisp and the new cymbals sound amazing.
Fucking absolute goat. The calibre of drummers we have today is attributed to OGs like George who were leading the charge, pushing the boundaries and showing everyone else in the game what's humanly possible
I'm sure neither Karl nor Dallas has ever dared to tell you about that, but take great, great, GREAT care, George. Nile would never be the same again without you - you're absolutely irreplaceable working for that band today.
Goddamnit! That was AMAZING! George, you are a true pro! And imo the absolute best in the biz! There are so many great metal drummers out there that all are amazing, but to play these Nile songs like this is remarkable.... the speed, the dynamics, the precision, the power, and the showmanship and attitude. Absolutely killer. So great to watch and listen to, and totally inspiring. I wanna play my drums now👊
It's been almost 16 years since we met in Austria, Vienna at Planet Music. Brewed and Canned (buddies of mine) were opening on this evening for a great line up (Belphegor, Finntroll, Six Feet Under and you guys). Not only did i've had the pleasure to meet you George, but watching you drumming on stage like only 10 Feet away almost behind the pearl masters maple custom that you guys were using this evening, just blew my mind. And after your great gig most of the bands were haning around with us and sharing a beer or to at the Escape Bar. Till this day, you remain for me as one of the nicest, most humble, dearest and sweetest professionals i've ever met. I am glad to have met you and glad that you are doing well and still shredding those Skins and Cymbals with such precision and feel. Cheers and Love from Austria, Vienna Nemo
It amazes me how George plays this cleanly at these speeds with those notes played so closely together.Ive seen Nile 6 times with George and my mouth was on the floor. What a force.
Your drums are like an expansion of the guitars. They highlight exactly what the riffs play and then put so many extra beautiful "details". All these on an insane technical level 🙌
Totally Amazing ., I am Blown Away , So Psyched Out !!!!! Seeing / Hearing This Is Is A Real Blast !!!!! F'N Awesome And Very Killer On The Drums ., Solid And F'n Cool !!!!!
Niles pre show ritual takes place in a portable pyramid where they invoke ancient gods and lots of cocaine, i hear George always takes things to far so they made him the drummer.
Been a huge fan of Nile and George for nearly two decades but during the later years I’ve at times felt like George has had a bit of a decline when I’ve watched him play (less energetic than before, not as joyful/creative playing as earlier, less stamina during blasts). This video however is the best I’ve seen from him in a long time and it’s so good to see that he’s fucking crushing it (again)💪 Tight, energetic, meaningful playing. Unfortunately I can’t really enjoy Nile’s new music post the departure of Dallas TW but at least I can continue to enjoy this titan smashing it behind the kit and reminding me of all the years of inspirational playing on several of the best albums ever made. I hope George has a long life of playing ahead of him!
Still impressive after all those years to see that fluency when you hit the snare and then the toms at that speed while keeping strength! Moreover, your toms are quite high compared to your snare which makes the practice even more difficult, this is insane. Much respect for that great work and huge skill. 🙏
45 years of age and does this with such ease. George truly is the GOAT of extreme metal drumming.

The Greek God of blast beats
You’re talking about GOATs but I don’t see Mike Heller anywhere in this comment bro. Mike is way better than George for sure lol
What always amazes me about George is the freaking strength of every hit. At this speed it is beyond compare.
The way he tunes his snare doesnt give his blasts its full justice. The dude blasts are incredible
@@stevengarcia8428 exactly!!! this is very important. the lower the tuning, the harder it gets, and this is quite low for extreme metal....

GOTDAYUM...Papa George dropping this vid to remind the kids who's boss.
LOL yes absolutely. He’s absurdly good
Ridiculously amazing.. best I've ever heard hands down man.. George is the man.. period.
and he does jazz drumming just as well and death metal drumming - check out George Kollias - Burn Out
Those are some of the cleanest blast beats I've ever heard live!!
I cannot imagine how this is just possible. I can only embrace George's genius and enjoy 🤘🤘
Every note played flawlessly with perfect spacing...amazing performance!
Haven’t slowed down a bit. Still going 110%. Inspiring

Hooooooly shiiiiit. That’s some of the sickest things I’ve ever seen. Damn. 🙌🏻
Wow this live sound really proves you are the best death metal drummer of all time
wow, you are still killing it my man holy shit! been watching you for like 15 years!

total motivation...! there is only one GEORGE KOLLIAS noone over, noone besides - HE RULES!
Fast and wild! Awesome swivel technique in the 'slow parts'. Thank you!
I see now, he isn't human he is a robot. They have him plugged in.
George is the master of the feet and his bomb blast are not from this planet been very lucky to see the professor live twice
The new Zildjian setup sounds beautiful!
Kollias is the benchmark of death metal drummers
This is definitely the most demonic and impressive drumming I've ever seen from any drummer!!🤤

Not a single muddied note in there. Dude is literally a machine.
friggin awesome !!! i also recommend watching Emperor 2023 japan with Trym Torson on drums, he also knows his drums to say the least!
Has to be the most crunchy sounding drum mix I’ve ever heard, every blast beat and fill sounds so satisfying! 🍫
It amazes me how George plays this cleanly at these speeds with those notes played so closely together.Ive seen Nile 6 times with George and my mouth was on the floor. What a force.
Best extreme drummer ever
Holy shit this was one of your best sounding and clean playthroughs. Incredible
George has feel and dynamics that most other extreme drummers just can’t match.
great playing as always!
After I found a ton of skillful drumming beasts nowadays, I assure again that he’s still the king who can overwhelm ‘em.
Absolutely killer brother!!!
Can't wait to see you in Australia soon!
🤞🙏
Hails,
Jared.
☠️☠️🤘🤘🍻🍻
George is the god of drumming
Loving all the camera angles. Sounds just as awesome as the album can't wait for the new material to come out!! Thanks for sharing
This guy is incredible, with an incredible constancy. Astonishing!
COUNTLESS HOURS BEHIND THE KIT !!!!!!! Great job, GEORGE!!!!!! Such a great song !!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Holy hell that is fucking incredible! All these parts work so well with the music it's so good!
Shit's so tight, you'd think it's been beat corrected live! 🤯
Your drums are like an expansion of the guitars. They highlight exactly what the riffs play and then put so many extra beautiful "details". All these on an insane technical level 🙌
George continues to lead the way. Best.
Good hell man, you can hear how literally perfect your blasts are, the drum definition in the production in this is perfect!

GK just keeps getting better and better. 👊🥂🔥
Wow! Stupid fast and accurate! Seen them and just amazes me how great they are together at all they do! They are all just masters at what they do!!
i accidentaly started the video at 1.25X speed. My ass went to pieces, changed the speed to normal but pieces still remained shattered
I would love to see him and John Longstreth do a drum clinic tour together!
Incredible performance, this sounds even better than the recorded song, absolutely banger 🔥🔥🔥
dang homie - so clean you can serve dinner on it
GOD OF DRUMS!
Thank you! You should definitely post more often.
Awesome! Manic work!
Amazing playthrough! I can't wait to watch it in São Paulo, June 18! Hail Kolias, Hail Nile🤘
Just magnificent!!
Niles pre show ritual takes place in a portable pyramid where they invoke ancient gods and lots of cocaine, i hear George always takes things to far so they made him the drummer.
Thanks for uploading this! I love seeing your technique and gleaning what I can to improve my own playing!
Amaizing
Give us a footcam! BTW I love that snare tuning!

Absolutely incredible work.
Amazing drumming as always! I’m curious if the snare has any sample here combined with the mics?
Listening carefully I don't think so, or it's very, very subtle. Snare triggering would make it sound much less nuanced and human.
KARL TO DESTRUCTION
George its not human, very clean drumming🎉
damn dude, unreal precision
that snare sound uffhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhf
simply amazing
Great George
Mr. Machine Gun, bravo!
Killer as always!
That was CLEAN
Instant like! Gonna watch this with headsett a little later👊
Always the best blast drummer 🔥🤘
Monstruoso 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
3:04 is NEXT LEVEL heavy stuff. I wish they played that part longer in the song.
Been working on blast beats more lately, and I just wanted to say thank you George!….for making me wanna quit drumming, you won. 💀🤣🤘🏼
It's so perfect that sounds like robot not in a bad way❤❤❤
Amazing Destruction
SO MUCH POWER
still love your work!!
Amazing as always
you're the man George. NILE
Holy shit, Mr Kollias.
Awesome! Thanks GK!
F*cking crazy maniac! Awesome job, thanks for the video!
4:56 can't get enough of it
SMOOTH!!! A pro’s pro.

KARL...TO...DESTRUCTION! lol
Amazing 🤟
