The only thing this has in common with my playing are the fact we both use sticks and drums. It’s hard to even fathom the number of notes he plays. The doubles on the feet… and so relaxed.
Mad respect to Pearl for standing behind such a magnificent drummer. Holy cow, what a beast. Those those Demon XR look sick af. I'm not a drummer but I'd love to own them.
My favorite song off the new album! and also my favorite bass pedals! I been playing on them now for a good month they rip! Pearl makes the sickest drums and hardware out there if you all were wondering.
Wow! My first time seeing John play and I'm floored. He's so relaxed the entire time, I'm still trying to figure out his foot patterns. And the drums sound fantastic.
John and George are both endorsing the pedal now!! Pearl is making big moves apparently. John and George were half of the Beatles and these two are like the Beatles of extreme drumming!!😆😆 If you were going to add two more names to a top four, who would you choose?? Not an easy task.
That's some crazy endurance. I'll warm up and the last thing I'll do is see how fast i can get my BPM consistently for 2 minutes straight and after that I'm absolutely destroyed and need a 5 minute break.
Jesus! The bloke is a machine, and unlike a lot of these type of drimmers, his playing is listenable. I can't fathom how his feet don't seem to be moving that quick yet the kicks sound like machine guns? What is the benefit in having two beaters on one drum rather than playing twin kicks with single beaters?
A few things: Space - its a pain in the ass to move two kick drums around Expense - double the heads cost double the money Sound - two kicks will have more sustain, but on music like this, they're using triggers, so that doesn't matter too much anyways Feel - this is generally the most important this, there is a noticeable difference between the way a double pedal feels compared to two kicks, and when you're playing as fast as this dude, I'd imagine every little difference would be very noticeable
He uses alot of heel-toe, hence the relative lack of motion in the feet/legs. He's truly a master of double pedal heel-toe, most videos I've seen of him recently he almost uses heel-toe for 16th note triplets and 32nd notes
Those are sick pedals. I'm still considering getting some for my studio kit. Shameless plug: Krokmitën has just released THETA, our new album featuring John Longstreth on drums. He did an amazing performance check it out on my channel!
I just bought the pedals 4 Days ago. They are still packed up in the Thomann Deliverybox sitting in the hallway. I really love the fact that i own them now but i hate the fact that i wont play any better😂😂😂 Especially after watching this Video over and over again. Well … let‘s play Baldurs Gate 3 first. But … that game is also very complicated. Ok, f*** my life!
It just makes sence to have 2 sets of each type of cymbal for left and right. Remote hi hats yes but I gues no offset double kick because offsets are s gimmick or John is wasting for the sponsorship? Anyway from Neil to The Rev now today its This beast of a drummer. Johns time machine is impressive to say yhe least
There are a few ways to look at this style of playing. First is that this genre can be kind of like a sport with ones own technical ability. Kind of like how shred guitarist love to sweep throughout an entire song. The energy involved can be euphoric but if you are not into metal, extreme music or anything that requires a little muscle, then this means nothing. Cheers mate
It’s about damn well time John gets this amount of recognition and quality video. Thanks Pearl!
The only thing this has in common with my playing are the fact we both use sticks and drums. It’s hard to even fathom the number of notes he plays. The doubles on the feet… and so relaxed.
Yeah, heel toe is so incredibly hard and to keep it up for that long and that fast is insane
Nah...playing at that speed but with single strokes is what's really difficult.
This man is a result of so many hours of practice to play like this
Truly impressive!
This rendition of this song is even better than the album recording
He's simply the master of extreme drumming. He makes it look so fucking relaxed and easy too.
The double ride bell over the double strokes on the kicks @2:59 is so badass 🤘
Mad respect to Pearl for standing behind such a magnificent drummer. Holy cow, what a beast. Those those Demon XR look sick af. I'm not a drummer but I'd love to own them.
That’s just bonkers unbelievable playing- he’s even got the springs cranked right up holy shizzle - phenomenal!!!
Uhhh... It's hard to even comprehend what I just witnessed. The level of calm he maintains throughout that is unbelievable 🤯
nice little bonus at the end of the song!
1:52 the muscle memory took over, he had to stop himself from hitting the snare lmao
John is an absolute beast. He never disappoints.
Pearl should make a Demon Drive & Demon XR hi-hat stand 🥁🤘waiting for that...
Yes!
That's a beautiful pedal, and some wicked playing!
Incredible gear, playing, drummer, sound 👌👌
He is a wicked good drummer on a pretty rad kit 🤘 ( Pearl the best reason to play drums )
Badass brand, badass quality, badass drummer.🔥
Damn those three red stripes on his adidas are so matching the pedals and drum set!
Just INSANELY BEAUTIFUL TO WATCH!!! ❤
As always, impressively solid
My favorite song off the new album! and also my favorite bass pedals! I been playing on them now for a good month they rip! Pearl makes the sickest drums and hardware out there if you all were wondering.
JESUS!!!!!! Oh my God-- my brother!!! You put so much hard work into this song -- it’s insane!!!! Love you --my friend!!!!👿👿👿👿👿👿❤️😇🫡🇺🇸
Wow! My first time seeing John play and I'm floored. He's so relaxed the entire time, I'm still trying to figure out his foot patterns. And the drums sound fantastic.
Doubles + doubles or double + single all the time
Love that New XR Pedal ❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing work mate!
¡Brutal!
Demasiada precisión
👏👏👏👏👏
Best blasts in the business!
John is a machine! I wonder how these pedals compare to Czarcie Kopyto.
i have my full attention on his kit, its so low and small, and its cool
Powerfull 💪🏼🤘🏼🖤🥁
Bruh incredible
bro. I never comment on videos. ..but thanks for that ride my brother... so sick.
I NEED TO WATCH THIS AGAIN!
Insane video
BRUTAL !
amazing

Holy fuggin' friggin marony... yes I said marony, that's what I'm feeling right now! ^^
thanks for bringing the Master on, Pearl. gw

Economy of movement. Stellar.
A+
Holy shit!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
🐐🤘
GOAT
❤❤❤❤
The cuestion is.. Max Tension ?
I love John , the best
Did you even watch it? It is max tension
Nobody drills a kit better than Longstreth
Unreal is my only word.
Why do I even keep on playing the drums
My god…
Demon approves
I wish I could do doubles on my feet....
But I’m kinda glad I can’t too.
I’m an old Skool Singles guy.
Look at that fucking bell on the rideeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John "Legstrength" Longstreth
Anyone here who knows what Trigger is he using in the Studio? Is it Ddrum? can't recognize it
John Longstreth is a complete monster on the kit..
If these where longboards id be sold on them! My long ass feet can't do heel toe on short boards
30fps is not enough to properly capture this kind of speed
If I could have even just his hand technique...
Could someone please invent/find the secret of youth so that we could get another 20 years outta origin?
He seems to be doing quite well should have a fair few years left in him

Why does the kit look so tiny 😂 is there something weird going on with the camera?
You're kidding me right?
1:02 did he just sigh ?
What the actual f.
Could you have mixed the audio any worse?

Is he not even using triggers 😮

Fuking machine!!!!

Great playing! Music sounds like a mess though.
Umm not the best video to hear the drums. Lol.
The focus of this particular video is the pedal/bass drum but you can hear the Reference One Series at ruclips.net/video/VeukhDbdX9U/видео.html
Awful music, great playing, bad mix
This music is pure trash but to have that kind of skill behind the kit is amazing.
Inhuman
Double strokes on the pedals is a big ew in my book but each to their own!
Todo bien... Pero la música asquerosa!!! Para mí es igual o peor al Reguetón. 😂😂
The drum sounds are too low......not a great drums audio engineer.....
slow
I just don't get this kind of playing. Is he even having fun? Doesn't look like very much fun...
Good news, you don't have to!
