We're back in Train Sim World checking out a brand new DLC recently released called Great Western Express. Here we get to drive diesel electric commuter trains in Britain, including the fastest diesel electric train in the world, going in excess of 140 miles per hour! Instead of hauling cargo, now our job is to bring pedestrians from station to station on time, it's an interesting take on Train Sim World's previous Heavy Haul.

The 147 miles an hour was on a test run for publicity: all the passengers were journalists, all the signals ahead were green, and the driver had permission to leave the throttle wide open. Apparently it wasn't a very comfortable ride, but it set a record for diesel trains that still stands. I've often ridden on these trains, and probably so has every person in Britain! They're being replaced by electric trains on various lines now, but where electrification hasn't reached yet the InterCity 125s still rule for long-distance passenger transport.

When you stopped in Ealing Broadway, I think you stopped at least a couple cars short of the platform, which would cause passengers in the last few cars major distress. In "Train Simulator," the bigger brother of TSW, stopping at the wrong place slows the amount of time that train loading takes, which effectively reduces your score. In reality, they would check the brakes on your train and then consider firing you.

Gray wants to go back and say hi to his passengers... The games says no... So Gray gets train to maximum speed, full service breaks + emergency breaks. We will bring the passengers to US!!! Cleaning may not like all the nose smudge marks splattered on the front of all the carriages.

Electrical trains and metros are like a Tesla. If you opened the throttle like that on one, it would whiplash everybody and throw them down on the floor. They reach 60 mph on some 15 seconds, and brake just as fast, with disc brakes the size of truck wheels.
