I guess I’m old school when I call it a DOPE book

I'm a big fan of this guy's work. Going to get myself a Revic BR4 soon. Thanks for your hard work!

I see you have a SiG Sierra 6 scope there. Good high tech scope that uses Bluetooth from a laser rangefinder and a KESTREL 5200 Elite weather meter. I'm getting the new BURRIS Eliminator 6 that will do all of that but the wind, plus it has ED glass.
The Eliminator 6 references your weather conditions THE DAY OF SETTING THE ZERO. ALL HOLD FOLLOWING SOLUTIONS ARE BASED OFF THE ZERO DAY CONDITIONS. Hence "ZERO ANGLE".
Finally, for me the HORNADY 4DOF ballistic engine is THE most exact one yet devised and gives me the MOST CONSISANT firing solutions. It is that consistency that convinced me of the superiority of 4DOF over mathematically built ballistic engines.

So...with Zero Angle method - you don not have to worry about temp, alt and other environmental conditions? r/

So you guys decided to use Hornady's 4DOF formula... wow, and 900,000 yard solutions... U fellas are really out there

Why not just do what Strelok does, and have all the environmental factors for when it was zeroed? Won't that do the same thing or am I missing something?

Its the same thing, just not as easily portable to smart devices.

You failed to explain why the angle system is better and what does it matter anyway since both methods are using ballistic solvers.

Good point. The ZA method is superior because it accounts for conditions at the time and location of zeroing.

Zero angle doesn’t change with atmospheric or engagement conditions and it thus superior to zero range.

With a standard zero as soon as any environmental changes from when you zeroed the rifle is no longer "zeroed" according to the ballistic calculator. A zero angle finds a fixed angle between the scope and bore than never changes. A zero angled rifle is the same in Alaska as it is in Utah. If you have a 100 yrd zeroed rifle in Utah it will be a vastly different zero in Alaska.
