- That's Tom Savini as "The Creep" in the back of the box truck beside Reny's Department Store. I wish I'd known back in '87 that he was here; I would have liked to have met him.

I always loved how he delivered that one line and I say it frequently still, "I never seen anyone so impatient Billy." God, I love the 80's!
My favorite part is that the Creep is Billy's ally. He's looking out for the kid.
Nothing like 80s horror movies
yep!
I go walk by there every day i never thought my town would be in a movie thats awsome
Oh my gosh! My grandmother used to work at Reny's and i still go up there a ton. I still can't fully grasp that a small town such as Dexter has been in a Stephen King movie!
Mainly all his movies and novel is based on Maine...he was born there and it makes sense as an author to create that into his stories.

I remember when this was being filmed, I was going through town and had to stop and shut my truck off because it was loud and they were getting ready to shoot.
YOU were the young Billy BEFORE this young Billy of Maine. A Young Billy who is into creepy things and who had his local bullies consumed by giant venus flytraps. YOU were the Young Billy that Mr. Creep took under his wing in your day. There have been numerous Young Billies of Maine that Mr. Creep has shepherded over the ages.
nonplayerzealot4 what the hell are you saying? Speak English
Such an awesome opening scene!
This movie reminds me so much of Tales From the Crypt. They should've made a TV show for this.
There's one now on Shudder. Though back in the 80's there was a show called Tales From the Darkside that worked just as well. If you haven't seen either one, do so.
stlouisrocker100 fun fact tales from the dark side was originally supossed to be a creepshow tv series but was changed to do copyright reasons
There is one. It was made in 2019. Check it out.
Funny thing, back when my local video store still had VHS tapes (and existed), I - maybe 11 at the time - rented an episode of the shortlived Flash TV show from the 90's.
This was in the case instead.
While it would never have been able to beat the first movie’s opening, this is still awesome. Probably the best part of the film
Disagree I prefer this opening to the first.
Wow, King had so much pull he was able to have some of this movie filmed in Maine. Awesome.
Watching this now on Amazon Prime. I love this location.
My favorite horror movie series ever
I live in Dexter too.
Beautiful town!
best intro ever
A cool Easter eggs is when Billy collects the comic it cover is from the first film Creep show movie 1982 involving a little Voodoo studies dolls, acupuncture and sons love for a father...🤫
i just love that part from 1:44 seconds on where it turned to cartoon and the paper bundle drop as ittle billy etc. dont forget your bicyle helmit kiddies ha' ha' enjoy the fun childlike dark fun humor though the eye of a child agian my youtube friend ! love ya all sing n dance - in 2019
I wish I could return to the days of watching horror movie cable reruns and the night was still young.
For the most part. Reny's roof collapsed shortly after this was filmed, so it is one story shorter now. Also, that tall building with the pitched roof between Tillson's and the old Western Auto is shorter now; I think that had to do with a fire on its upper floor at some point, if I remember right.
Does Mr. Creep still drive his truck around the area to provide the local youth with haunted, spiritually tainted creep magazines? Do you remember Mr. Creep from YOUR day? Do you remember his laugh?
Tom Atkins disapproves .
Fellow Mainer here, lots of classics filmed in our state.... I was born too damn late... 1991 😡😡
this is where my special day on Sept 9th, but Max my good friend in secret of pets saw Discord disguised as a delivery man.
Honestly Dexter still looks the same as it did before (I go there a lot because my besties live there 😘)
This is a true story. The scene really does give me the creeps. The boy reminds me of Coty Lake. Coty was murdered by his father along with his sister and mother a short distance from where this scene was filmed. His father then killed himself. I know Coty's former bus driver. He told me that when Coty and his sister Monica got off the school bus they would tell him thank you Mr. bus driver for the ride home. He said they were such wonderfully pleasant and polite young children. I'm in tears writing this. You can Google details of this horrible tragedy. Loving Memory of Coty Monica and Amy Lake, video can be found on RUclips. You will cry but watch it and say a prayer if you believe their souls have gone on to a much better place. R.I.P. Amy Monica and Coty Lake.🌻🌷🌼
Amy Lake was my moms cousin :(
RIP innocent souls 🙏
RIP
Except to that sick murderer
@@MusicProducerGameDeveloper You're so correct.
@@kneecool I haven't been on this RUclips section for a couple years now, but I'm sorry to hear that this tragedy struck so close to your family.
I'm sure you'll all see them again someday in a far better place. God Bless.
Creepshow 2 theme is 1 in my book
I used to live in Dover Foxcroft the town over from dexter
Our Dear Mother Judy and I watched Stephen King's Film here back when I was 18. Because of some elements, I recall Mother telling me: "you're not allowed to watch this movie again Son, until you're twenty-two!". Ha-Ha.
thats cool, first view from zions hill road.
Loved this music. Would it have been made on a DX7?
That kid looks like paul walker
Un capolavoro👍
this is hilarious
This would make a good TV show. Kind of reminds me of DC comics character Shazam. Also named Billy.
♥️
Creep is back! From creepshow 2. 0:58-1:02-1:23 *"Matoro's Legacy Ignition Saga."*
That's guy was that creep guy drawing person at pictures at me, likely old times.
Who else thinks dexter is cute before😍😍 I just watched creepshow2 and my brother said no so he left so it was me and my other brother and it was okay😉😏
Dexter looks the same now as then
I just looked on Google earth myself. It does look mostly the same. Just the building in front of the building with the clock tower. It looks like they removed the third floor since.
edit: Looks like some other buildings are knocked down or different in the far background with the white church.
@@nyastclair8174 "Just the building in front of the building with the clock tower. It looks like they removed the third floor since."
That building is Renys department store. It's missing its third floor because its roof collapsed on January 30, 1990 - i.imgur.com/q5TlnTR.jpeg

He does look like Paul Walker
@@SoCalJon333 his eyes are dark. Paul walker had blue eyes
I live in dexter! :O 2018!!!!!!
Do you remember when this scene was filmed?
Hmm..Idk?
It was filmed in 1987. Do you remember that year?
I am 10 years old. i was born in 2008! xDDD
Oh, I see. I was 12 years old in 1987. Maybe your parents or grandparents remember, if any of them lived in Dexter back then.
Ok but...why turn to animation?
Probably budget constraints. The scene with the giant venus flytraps eating the bullies was probably far cheaper and more practical to do in cartoon format, rather than live-action. Remember, this movie was made back in 1987 before everything went digital, when there was no CGI. If they did the venus flytrap scene in live-action, they would've had to use practical effects and stop-motion animation, which would have been a lot more costly and time-consuming than doing it as a cartoon.
@@earthwormjim3269 I can agree with that. They made the right decision then.
Can someone tell me the name of the kind in a bike please? Thank y'all
1960s Schwinn Tornado, like this - bikehistory.org/imagecatch/1960-schwinn-tornado.jpg. That bike was obviously chosen by a Baby Boomer in the prop department. I'm about the same age as the actor that played Billy (I was 12 years old in 1987), and I'm from Dexter, and I can assure you that no kid in town rode a 1960s bike. We rode BMXs or 10-speeds, and by 1987 there was at least one kid who had an 18-speed "mountain bike", which was a new thing at the time (new to Dexter anyway). The only one in Dexter who I ever saw on an old cruiser-style bike like that was a nearly blind guy in his 70s, who rode a bike similar to that with a basket on front everywhere he went. He was most often seen riding it on Grove Street (which becomes the North Dexter Road after you pass Lake Wassookeag).
@@MaximRecoil thanks for the info but I had some typo there. What I mean is the name of the "kid". Hhehe
@@emsi1995 The kid was played by Domenick John - www.imdb.com/name/nm0424155/?ref_=tt_rv_t0
His name is Domenick Sportelli. He is a famous doctor now. He makes appearances on the daytime talk show The Doctors.

Didn't have the budget or Kings collaboration as much as the first one, but overall still a good movie.

SOMMON.
This is the reason why i dont like creepshow 2 becuase its a anime movie mixed with horror and also its only has 3 stories and short, Meanwhile the first one has 5 and it is longer.
terrible. from the awful music to the 3rd rate animation. creepshow 2: "down market blues".
That’s Tom Savini
A legendary master of the special make-up effects 😼🤘.
Tom Savini was also a special quest voice in one episode of THE SIMPSONS.
