I think some people are overlooking the fact that this is also a great exercise in crafting metal in general, and the focus is not just the rose -it’s an inconsequential, subjective object that making will improve your overall skill. Just my opinion. I greatly enjoyed it, Roy.
I so much get a kick from that pointer it's pretty funny to me every time you bring it out.. Great gift idea by the way and as always thanks for sharing. Martin
+M&S BLADES thank you Martin for the great compliment! Yeah the hand is quite hilarious I checked a little bit every time I pull it out :-)
M&S BLADES I was just going to comment the same thing! It’s hilarious and clever at the same time!
Booooomfff! The sound as your using the hardy tool! Thanks mate! Love your videos, you’ve inspired me to Smith. I’ve recently built a gas forge and acquired an anvil. I’m slowly learning hooks and starting slowly. I managed it all whilst in a wheel chair so I’m extra proud. You wanna see me move when a red hot piece of metal falls in my lap! Thank god for leather aprons!! Haha. Thanks once again and god bless. Big love from the U.K. to you and your family 👍🇬🇧
Just started forging. Got to make a few small projects but im going to make tgis one to.
And that small hand is genius
i appreciate the conversion from imperial to metric! as a carpenter in Canada I use both on the job. its a skill to be fluent in both and convert on the fly
Nice video Roy I think if I do these I'll do the stem on the small pedal so it is in the center once its rolled
Need to give these a go looks like a fun project. Thank you and God Bless you Roy and Jess for all you do, have a great day 📖✝
You have terrific control, Roy. I have a hard time keeping thin bar from collapsing on itself when driving down the edge. You made that look too easy, lol. Nice pattern, I love the simplicity of the design and it only takes one small piece of "scrap stock"
Nice rose Roy!!!
Roy: "ya need 10 pedals",. Only makes 8🤣🌹
Nice project Roy
Awesome. Take care and be well.
+Matthew Schofield thank you and you too God bless
Haha love that finger pointer 😎👍
What is flat stock and where do I get these materials from?
It would be a good rose for something that's to be hot dipped galvanize because it would drain freely and not fill up with Zink. I Enjoy your pointer
loool the finger pointer :D nice
If u flip the pattern the stem would be more in the Center
Hey roy. Someone beat me to saying it, but what if you reversed the pattern. You could then start the spiral or roll from the center point and could even to an extent cover the fact that it isn't a whole rose.
Just a thought from a non-smith (for now)
dont like these roses very much roy as you said though its a representation i just cant see the value in that sort of rose what do they sell for
+grayem pepper well they're definitely not a style a rose for everyone as far as cost price to sell them anywhere from $50 to about $100 depending on how elaborate you get with them are they being sold in a cluster are they being attached to a gate or railing so on and so forth. I think the main point in these roses is the fact that they take considerably less time to make than a regular Rose cut from a flat sheet than stacked on a stem.
ok thank you
4 minutes in, sure looks like a strange comb, hardly any teeth 🤣😝😁
Thought this was the roblox game
Cool video Roy. If time permits in your day, check out "blacksmithing for Mom". It's a show n tell of a project for my mother a few years ago. Thanks!
