I completely agree with you anything by Fredrick Backman is so indulging and comforting , he describes the lives of every character so beautifully which makes his works more intresting.
Girl, your recs have never failed me. Even if it's not my preference it's always good. But I do think our book tastes overlap a ton, which is really lucky for me 😂
I think dystopias are always great to get you back into reading - particular more ya or new adult centred ones as they are a little more character focused. I know these are a bit of a throwback but the books that really got me back into reading were the Maze Runner books and the Diviners (I read the Hunger Games a lot later)
Looove Beartown (and Backman in general), don't be scared by the hockey as I was, because it's more about the emotions and relationships hockey create than the specific sport itself! And Emily Wilde is so much fun 😍
You introduced me to Robert Jackson Bennett and I seriously can not thank you enough! I did not know he started a new series, can't wait to pick it up.
Yes, Dark Matter! I've recommended it to three friends with three very different literary tastes and they all liked it. I love it, and Recursion is even better.
Beartown is six stars. Ten stars. Hundred stars. I will never stop thinking about this book and its characters. No other author made me laugh and cry while reading the same page. I read all of Backman's books over the period of two years and all the main characters are still very vivid in my mind.
It may not work for most but the book that got me love reading again was the last unicorn by Peter s. Beagle. Love the writing style, the story, the characters, and the humor which I was not expecting
The first author I recommend to people if they need to fall back in love with reading is Blake Crouch. I LOVED Dark Matter but finally read Recursion a month or so ago and it was somehow even better… haven’t stopped thinking about it since. 100/10
yes agree 100% anything by Blake Crouch, even if they're not typically a SciFi reader because his books have a Suspense/Thriller aspect that is really engaging. He has interesting characters and propulsive plots while still having substance (philosophical/existential topics etc). I read Dark Matter, then the Wayward Pines trilogy, then Upgrade, and just recently Recursion. Next up is his backlist Snowbound. He also has at least 2-3 more backlist (maybe more?) I want to check out. I've heard Run is pretty good. I will read anything that man writes and cannot wait for his next release!!
Oh my, I just read A man called Ove yesterday and ugly cried like never before (might be the pms lmao). So, definitely interested in Beartown. You might have mentioned it but I listened while painting my stair, so I might have been distracted : is it a self contained book ?
Beartown is the first in a trilogy, but you don't have to read the rest. I definitely recommend it, though, as it's one of my all-time favourite series!
Definitely added a few books to my TBR! I've just gotten back into reading after an extremely long slump and I'm so excited to dive back in, this video came at the perfect time. I'm very intrigued by the Monk and Robot books.
It feels like there will never be enough time to read all the amazing books in the world... Oh well. Still adding all of these to my TBR! 😂
This fact (along with all the music to listen to, TV shows to watch, etc) gives me so much anxiety.
@@gabiudoffonce you realize you wont experience everything it's a relief
TBR's are like having faith in your future ❤
This is such a beautiful idea! ❤

The “books mentioned” section in the description is blank :( Great recs!

God I love the Diviners so much, what a ride

I would LOVE to read Vampires of el Norte but I have to wait until autumn for the perfect atmosphere 🤌🏻

Your hair and outfit are SLAYING in this video! Also I loved the tainted cup, defo one of my top books of the year thus far!
The Final Empire has been on my TBR for a while - maybe it is time 😃

I'm officially a 'Crouch potato'
Just realised I’ve spent the last 10 years adding your reading recs to my tbr. I don’t think I’ll ever have enough time to read them all 😭
love your videos and also you’re glowing and look so pretty ❤️❤️❤️
I'm reading the Final Empire as we speak. The characters really are fantastic and I'm so excited to keep going. Great video!
I don't see How High We Go in the Dark get recommended enough, I loved it and it deserves so much more hype
The Tainted Cup was fantastic! It made me want to read all the Sherlock Holmes stories, as well as all of Robert Jackson Bennett's other books.
I just ordered Dark Matter and The Tainted Cup, can’t wait to dive in! 😍🥰
You should read Dungeons and Drama. I don't wanna say much not knowing much will make the experience better
Dark Matter was good but Crouch has a ton of even better stories, I've read probably 75% of his catalog, the Wayward Pines series is epic.
Excited for the Dark Matter tv show on apple tv!
Im waiting on my hold to come in for Bear Town, I think it will be an excellent read
The mini-series adaptation of Dark Matter premieres on Apple TV on May 8th!!!😃
I love The Tainted Cup, i really hope there will be a second book and hope it will come out soon.

OMG! I love The Tainted Cup! 💛💞💚💚💛💛💚🩵🧡🧡🧡🧡🤎💘🌻💛💛🌺💚💚💞💞🌈🌈🌈💛❤️❤️💛💚🧡🤎💘💜💜💙💙📚📚📙📙📚📚📙📙📚📚📖📖📖📖📖
Fredrick Backman, I think Bear Town is one of the only ones I haven't read. Need to pick it up!
The tainted cup sounds so goooooood
You should check out the book, Draculas, Vampires and Seagulls by Francisco el Vittorio.
Din in The Tainted Cup is also dyslexic. He can read but finds it difficult.
