That was brougt up by High Intensity Health, but you can find proxy in the population study about cholesterol for a population averaging about 60 years of age. Highest quantitle had half the death rate of the lowest quantile wrt LDL measured (which is brought up every so often by Dr Paul Mason, Sydney). A positive result.
Other proxies are the public release of the dataset of, and reanalysis of the MCHS and SDS with similar results. Replacement of saturated fats with PUFA being negative for health (which is more focused on removing sat fats from the 1950's-1980's saturated fat and cardiac health craze), and replacement of butter/lard with plant oils (which is primarily done to lower LDL) having a very significant all cause mortality negative effect.
For further proxies is the preliminary statements about the LMHR study, whereby Feldman states that it's a "Scenario 5" situation, where the high LDL, high HDL, and low TG population have rather positive results per CAC score through both tests.
Negative (as stated above) being plainly bad for human health/longevity.
Positive being plainly good for human health/longevity.

I'm a clinical lab scientist. Cholesterol has never, in my over 40 year career, been reported as a "normal range". It's always been reported per the AHS guidelines! For those who don't know, normal ranges are established by analyzing healthy, normal people to establish a mean range. Normal ranges for cholesterol are actually higher than the AHS has your lab reporting them!
I've been full carnivore for nearly two years. My total cholesterol went up about 50mg/dl, but my triglycerides have been cut more than half (under 100mg/dl) and my HDL is the highest it's ever been. A1C 4.6, back to a healthy weight, off all meds, BP 116/62! Try and convince me carnivore/ ultra low carb isn't healthy!

Because they have a ground of moral basis, not eating living species or something from living species rather than health for why they have their diet? So they need finding faults with other ways.
What is so annoying with critique is that quite a deal of carnivores do the diet because of for instance autoimmune issues, gut issues and inflammation, which may have a very negative cardiovascular consequence. So someone who had these problems for decades and have heartproblems may have plaqued vessels from that rather than the carnivore diet they started afterwards?

Besides, industrial farming, which vegans rely upon to even exist, kills far more mammals than meat eaters do...they also create unhealthy environments for ALL living things with all the sprays and chemicals used to push yields ever upward and onward. I thought I did everything right when I was a vegan. I was eating a McDougall style diet. High Carb Low Fat Whole Foods. Then I got blood work done, and my cholesterol was alarmingly high. It shocked me so I took the blood test again because I thought my blood may have been mixed up or something. As vegans you get it drilled into you that high cholesterol only occurs in meat eaters. The second test was just the same. My doctor wanted to put me on statins. I did not do it. I wish the vegan propaganda would stop presenting that veganism is the only way to go. Clearly it is not.
I should add that my cholesterol is completely
normal now since I’m on a low carb omnivorous diet.

Same! I did McDougall religiously for a year but just got sicker and sicker! Switched to carnivore and totally healed Rheumatoid Arthritis, Interstitial Cystitis, vertigo, TMJ, chronic fatigue, brain fog. My GP actually recommended I try carnivore and he said that any increases in cholesterol were nothing to be concerned with as he described cholesterol blood markers as not the fats themselves but the "trains" that carry the fats to where they are needed and that an increased fat diet would naturally mean there'd be more "trains" making the deliveries! Made perfect sense to me! The cholesterol only delivers to the arteries if there's damage in the lining to be patched up which has more to do with consumption of sugar and grains, obesity and smoking than consumption of healthy animal based saturated fats.

@@calendarpage I just watched a vid on "Butter Bob" Brigg's YT channel. No, he's not a doctor, but I found this video to be very enlightening: The Root of Modern Illness - High Insulin. His contention is that chronicall high insulin is the cause/root of many illnesses, and that the keto diet is the "treatment" for reducing the amount of insulin circulating in the blood (and causing damage). His reasoning is this: EVERY time you eat (or drink a sweet beverage) your body releases insulin. So, if you are eating frequently you are constantly releasing insulin into your bloodstream. IF, however, you are eating low carb or keto, the diet keeps you satieted and you eat less frequently so you reduce the overall amount of insulin being released an in circulation. This is a very trunkated version - you should really visit his channel and watch the vid for yourself.

I was curious about something so I looked for a research paper about effect of fasting on LDL cholesterol. As it turns out. There is a statistically significant rise in LDL apolipoprotein B that rises with the length of fast.
Weird that the body would consciencely create such a molecule in the complete absence of food if its dangerous. As it turns out, too LOW LDL is consireded a risk of arterial hemmeroaging because of the clogging effects (this is listed in Pfizer's safety sheet or statins).
Side note, somebody pointed out that its possibly erroneous to call LDL a cholesterol, when it is rather a liporotein *cholesterol carrier* which is quite something different. It's like the difference between a red blood cell and oxygen

They don't care about the environmental damage from crops, they definitely don't care about the thousands of little animals that are killed growing crops. Just let me eat my meat and be happy. The insects living in the soil in which the grass grows can thrive (along with the birds that eat them). Unless we go back to ploughing with a team of horses or oxen, there is an environmental and financial cost in the use of tractors etc. Please don't mention methane from cattle! I wonder how much methane is produced by people on plant-based diets - I know I'm a lot more gassy if I eat vegetables.

And a positive and negative risk factor can cancel out. Also, it's very likely the average America's cholesterol is actually too low because they eat cr@p. 3:02 A study that considers pizza red meat is not very helpful. 7:09 Pizza is bad because of the wheat and vegetable oil not because it sometimes contains a few ozs of meat.

Yes, relative risk vs absolute risk. Relative risk is usually cited more often by anti-meat people because it's generally much larger than absolute risk, and thus "scarier." If 1 out of 100 vegans had a heart attack, and 2 out of 100 keto/carnivores had heart attacks, they'd say that is 100% increase because 2 is 100% more than 1. That's relative risk. But 1 out of 100 is 1%, and 2 out of 100 is 2%, so that is only a 1% difference in absolute risk. Statistically insignificant, as you mentioned.

Also, I can find several peer-reviewed studies that show the majority of heart attacks are in people on statins with low to normal cholesterol. A meta-analysis came out recently that showed low cholesterol is more dangerous than high cholesterol. Also, LDL is not cholesterol; it is a protein that transports cholesterol and other vital nutrients. Lastly, LDL doesn't clog arteries for no reason. It is there because of damage caused to the arteries by high blood sugar and high insulin, but doctors jsut see the symptom and treat that instead of the underlying issue.

People often go onto any diet because they are in a state of unhealth and want to be healthy. So if their poor health decisions catch up to them it doesn't mean the new diet caught up to it. It means the past has.
Such as I have deep vein thrombosis. I got it eating a standard American diet. Since I have gone keto, lost a lot of weight and most of the symptoms that it exists have largely gone away. However, I can still tell there is blockage. It isn't completely gone. So if it gets dislodged and kills me with a heart attack or something its not because of diet. It can be any number of things. Such as when the docs did an ultrasound to confirm it, because they presumed I might have DVT, they did dislodge it some and cause the blockage to migrate in my leg. It caused massive pain and swelling for a few weeks. I felt horrible for that period of time. It would be disingenuous that my diet caused something that was literally caused by the medical technician who the doc scheduled to do the imaging.
Just as when the guy mentioned in the video having blockage that went from 10% to 90%. it is assumed that it was because of diet but it could have been anything else and the blockage was likely at the heart because it traveled from somewhere else. Its the nature of these things. Such as if my DVT dislodges it could end up at my heart and have 90% blockage. My DVT wouldn't go away either if i swapped to a Vegan diet. At least not over night. But I'm sure as hell if my DVT caused my death if I were on a Vegan diet then none of them would say it contributed to my death like they would say a keto diet would have.
    Such dishonest people.

From an article on James blunt
“On the sociology side of things there were 170 girls and only three boys, of which all the girls were vegetarian or vegans,” he explained. “So out of principle, I decided I’d become a carnivore and just lived on mince, some chicken, maybe with some mayonnaise.”
“And it took me about six to eight weeks to get very unhealthy and see a doctor, who then said, ‘I think you’ve got the symptoms of scurvy,'” Blunt was healed by following the doctor’s order to drink orange juice every day, but he admitted the citrus eventually gave him acid reflux.
This isn't really much to go off honestly and has overlaps with not enough fat, electrolytes, or red meat. I do not know what mince he ate but am suspicious of his food choices, especially since more processing leads to further reductions of vitamin C in the meat. Chicken I think concentrates most of the Vitamin C in the organs and cooking again, damages vitamin C. HOPEFULLY he wasn't boiling his meat because they would be a tragedy for vitamins

@@anthonymuma4602 yeah I picked up on that too. If drank like a gallon of OJ a day which was mentioned somewhere that makes up a significant portion of your daily calorie.... If it was truly scurvy a single orange should've cured him. could've just as easily been sodium or potassium

Now 71 and on the keto diet for 8 years I did it to normalize high blood-pressure. I was a plasma donor and saw my blood-pressure measured every time before donating about 24 times a year and in my country it is voluntary for all blood donations. but I was rejected twice with a lower blood pressure over 93 although it usually was not that high. Then for sport diving I had to have a general checkup and my values were all over the place. I knew that a keto diet would possibly solve this and did not get on meds as my GP suggested but but said that I would do this Atkins diet. During an all-in vacation at the Red Sea I tried out the diet as there was plenty meats to choose from and when I got home 2 weeks later my blood-pressure was normalized. Lately I restart measuring my blood-pressure in the morning after sitting and shaving and it always is between 65 an 78. In the 2 years I'm now measuring it has never exceeded 85.
Now if something is bad for heart decease it high blood-pressure. I hope one day I can convince my GP that I am OK. I lost 13 kg but I also slowly lost all arthritis like joint pains in my shoulders, hips and knees and also no longer have to deal with nerve twitching in my feet. As A kid I had a climbing accident and also had a compacting fracture in my right femur and so on that side the leg is almost 2" shorter. I was expecting to be the first requiring hip replacement prosthesis surgery but I now still liver in my house with stairs and have no problem climbing up and down these stairs nor at my old workplace where I regularly climb/jog 4 stairs of about 4 m or 13 " although I do need to ketch my breath after the last one I feel no problem with my feet, knees of hips.
I do take supplements D3 10.000 IU and B12 1000 mcg My mother also needed High B12 to avoid anemic problems and I can get pretty dizzy rising after kneeling or crouching , but I just recently discovered that within days the dizziness is over.

I'm a 67 year old woman, been doing animal based for 137 days. Osteoarthritis has receded, along with other health issues. I have more energy I feel amazing. I've lost 18 pounds, my clothes fit better. Eyesight has improved. A twitch under my eye has gone, I can move better, I am stronger and fitter than I've been for years. I gained 25 pounds, have dangerously low B12 levels, low D3, got sleep apnea and lost all my physical fitness. I’m now on blood pressure medication, psyllium husk, multivitamins and low dose aspirin. Yesterday I began eating meat again with plans to try carnivore diet in hopes to reverse the damage done by the plant based diet.

Its very strange why me being a carnivore most of my life has not affected my health in a negative way... I'm now 70 yrs old and feel as fit as I was at 30 at 170 lbs... I can eat till I'm full and I DO NOT put on weight... However, during the early 2020's when were advised by the media, medical & food industries to eat five a day, with plenty of fibre, to cut down on meat, fat and protein as its caused strokes and heart disease, I ballooned to an unhealthy 224lbs.... After being like this for around ten years, feeling sluggish, low energy, being fat and being told it was just the onset of age and not understanding why, I decided to go back to what I was told by a Royal Navy MD in 1969, to lose weight fast and safely without going hungry, was to cut out the sugar and starch!! It works!! I think we've been seriously lied to and also the vegan vegetarian agenda because they don't like killing animals to eat!!! Well unfortunately for them mother nature dictates that we are carnivore/omnivore... I like a bit of veg now again and an apple, but I wouldn't want to live on it! When I look at this vegan I see the same as I see in all vegans and vegetarians.... Highly stressed because carnivores eat animals!! Well guess what vegans, so do loins, tigers alligators etc!!! So please do us all a favour and do your own thing without getting stressed out about us carnivores.... We are happy if you're not!! You are what you consume!!

My endocrinologist ignores the ldl number. He wants to see my triglycerides and hdl ratio, mine being less than one. He says that many of his diabetic patients can have normal ldl but none have trigs below 100, which he says is optimal. He wants the ratio lower than 2, although he says closer to one is better than closer to 2. He never saw low ratios until low carb patients started coming in.
Someone should ask Mic if coconut is okay. Saturated and non animal. It does not increase ldl.
The old paradigm is high ldl in carb eaters on mixed diets. A friend of mine, vegan for 30+ years, nonsmoking, nondrinking lifelong runner failed a stress test and now had 3+ stents, including in the widowmaker. He blames genetics, not his high carb diet. Sigh.
