    I made it last night. Used boneless skinless thighs and turkey Italian sausage (out of laziness on both). It was FULL of flavor and very easy to put together. Loved it and will absolutely make it again!

      Chris is the uncle who teaches you cook Properly, Rick is the uncle who does that, but makes it Fun and So Sexy!! I would seek both of their approval, of course, but I would never feel that Chris would be satisfied, whereas Rick would always be "It's Fine, we can fix this"

    Peppadew peppers grow in only one place ... South Africa, which means they can be hard to find and pricey. If you come across them ... buy them! Soooooo freakin' good!

    You know what would make me a 56.789% better cook/chef?
    If there was a timer, or a clock at the bottom left side of the screen, just to give an indication of how long something was, say, fried.

      Yeah, raw ground pork's still gotta get up to 160F.

      Color is not a good indicator of whether a sausage is cooked. Ground meat in sausage does not always change color when cooked - so long as it has reached a temp that kills bacteria, it is still safe to eat. If the meat has browned prematurely, you would not be able to tell by color when the sausage is cooked.

    Why not par cook the meats first and then use the rendered fat to roast the potatoes? Seems like a lost chance to add flavour

      You could totally do that. Just toss the potatoes in the chicken and sausage fat instead of olive oil. May have to adjust your salt level.

    Something I've noticed with a lot of Rick's videos is that he rarely mentions what times and temps he's using. I know it's all in the written recipe, but it would be nice to have in the video too.

      Oven temps are normally 350 for most recipes.

      recoil53 Yup 350-375 is almost standard for all baking unless you’re roasting meats at high temps like 450 or broiling food

    Is that sausage fully cooked?

      I'm sure they used meat thermometer on it. You don't have to overcook sausages just as long as it's in the right temperature range you're okay. You don't have to make your meat turn into charcoal.

      @@givememore4free Right, I get that, and I understand that they lowered the min cooking temp on pork recently, but that's ground pork sausage, that pink in there would still make me nervous. It can be cooked fully and still juicy without being charcoal.

      I'm not a fan of pink inside sausage. I don't incinerate mine but I brown them outside &no pink on the inside. that's just me. my aunt likes them pink &isnt dead yet so I'm sure it's safe lol

      Patrick Scott yeah it was essentially raw inside. I wondered why not put the meats on at the same time. Take the sausage out if it’s done before then chicken.

    Honestly I looked at the amount of time he cooked the sausage and thought “they can’t be done yet...” I was right..

      Aragon Ruiz uh, editing. You can't tell timing from a video. Although the sausage did look a little pink.
