- So today I just felt that I should give out more Solid Advice because everyone keeps asking me for the actual Spot. Honestly, there’s no secret spot. When it comes to crabbing at Ocean beach, not a private beach, not a remote island, not a secret man cave, OCEAN BEACH! A beach that’s Open to the public, there’s no secret to that! So what that being said, there’s no specific secret spot. Let me tell you something, There’s Dungeness crabs everywhere at Ocean Beach, You just have to know the technique into pulling them in and learning how to read the waters.
#nowadergang
Dude, you are hella nice for letting them know your spot. What else do they want, GPS coordinates? Nah, JK. I love your vids. Stay Up!
😭🤣 thanks glade you’ve enjoyed them.
Thanks for the tips! Going with my son and daughter 🎣🦀 Love your videos! 🙏🏼❤️
Man, your friend Corey is yanking so hard it seems like he’s gonna rip their claws off.. Hahahahahaha. He couldn’t wait to get one..
Nice explanations!!! good job man!
Thanks bro glad that you enjoyed it.
@@bigzfishing4469 got 4 yesterday...but this is a bit new to me and hard work!!!
@@MrSpiller1 congratulations bro 4 is better then nothing.
Waders are a choice thing and I'm a wader guy. I have a lot of reasons why I like them but no waders is a lot easier!! I'm also a two rod person, I stager the pull time and don't seem to get them tangled very often. Very often is the key word!! Fun video and some pretty good crabs!!
Yesterday at my local market they had three crabs in the display, $13.99 a pound!!
I’m starting to see new comers at ocean beach wearing waders thinking that it’s okay to go deep because they have waders. I just want to show them that they don’t need it because we all know what happens when the waves hit over your chest, It’s really dangerous.
if the water goes apove your chest and into your waders your sinking like a rock, just saying.
@@henryman5809 Exactly!
Wow I actually didn’t even think about that! So keep waders on only knee deep then? 👌🏽
@@HideshiIzu and never turn your back from the ocean.
How many poles can you have at the surf per person?
Learned a lot from this video on surf crabbing. Subscribed!!!
Thank you, hope you get some out there.
Nice 👌. I just got into crabbing recently and went out the other day. I was watching some of your videos while I was crabbing. I choked on my coffee when you said Cambodian crack sauce 💀 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m glad you had a good laugh out of it bro haha I’m happy you enjoyed the video.
Great advice. Good stuff little bro!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks and will do.
That was awesome catching crabs.
Thanks
Dude another sweet vid! I wish more guys out there had a chill way of thinking like you do because some guys out there are too damn serious. Like you said, it isn't my fault that the rip current is taking everyone's snare down river! Plus i went out there last weekend and guys were only like 20 feet apart for as far as i could see! it's definitely gonna happen
Thanks man and yes, it isn’t anyone’s fault for getting tangled Even if your using a 15 oz weighted snare because the ocean will still move your snare all over the place, The best option to avoid these situations is to surf crab far apart. However, if there’s no space and you decide to go in between crabbers I’ll go ahead and do another Tutorial video on how to cast in rotation to prevent the Entanglement from happening.
@@bigzfishing4469 yeh that would be cool to see! But I usually just avoid the crowds so I don't have to deal with it
@@gc_in_dc same here.
How cool, very informative, love your videos, and that cha kdam tho 🔥🔥😋😋
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Nice vid! Where do you park? Last few times I've seen ppl get tickets on the side of the road near the parking lot. Any other spots to park you recommend?
When it comes to Ocean Beach There’s absolutely no exact parking that I usually use, Wherever there’s parking or if one is available I would park and crab anywhere.
Dope vid bro, you throwing braid? If so how many pound test you using? Keep it up
65lbs to 80lbs depending on your reel size
Oh no Cory lol . You guys had such a good times out there . I’ll be there this Friday/weekend . Hopefully I’ll catch at least one crab and I’ll use your method too .
😂. It’s kinda slow rn we might go next weekend
@@bigzfishing4469 okay , we’ll I’m from Fresno so I’ll be crabbing whole day on Friday and Saturday .
Rookie! Waders are a must!
Good job. I’m a wader man myself. Wouldn’t catch me barefoot in that water for 4-5 hours🥶
It’s all good it’s for people who are just barely starting for surf crabbing, it’s best to have them start without waders until they get the whole ideal of not going out too deep because I’ve seen a lot of beginners that goes surf crabbing with waders walking in the water waist deep not knowing that the waves can take them in at a split second.
Never crabbed before but want to try it. What equipments do you suggest me buying?
From my experience if it’s your first time I suggest you get the same set up as me, or any rods that’s 12 to 15 feet. Check out my recent upload just for an idea of what you should get when you head out there. ruclips.net/video/ktFpYicHTwg/видео.html
Very good informative video!
Nice job !
Thanks! Happy that you got some information out of it.
Great instructional video, where do you buy the traps? Also what do you use as bait?
Thanks for the tips! Is it possible doing the left/right/up tightness check can spook the crab?
If you reel in slowly pulling back and forth for a long period of time then yes they will know, with the waves pushing your snare all over the place I don’t think they will know because your snare and line is moving regardless. If you slightly pull and it gets stuck then (STOP) if you feel tight tension then he’s on, Go ahead pull.
Makes sense, thanks for you response!
Seasons almost here! I been watching your crabbing and fishing videos, lots of great info. So I was wondering, why did you throw that crab back, are you not able to keep them from foraging in the beach? Must be caught by snare only? Thanks a lot and looking forward to future videos
You can forage and pick them up and keep them it, it was just too small.
@@bigzfishing4469 good info. I’ll be out there 2nd time ever learning how to snare this weekend on opening day! Tight lines bro!
Great video and advice...
Thank you, I hope my advice benefits you into getting some too.
damn bro great catch! didnt know you need to back up when you catch a crab. Itll pull some drag for sure! Thanks for the info!
Oh you definitely need back up, I lost like 5 crab the past week just 10ft or so from the sand!
Thats exactly how my girl made it lol looks fire 🔥🔥🔥
Oh really? Haha welp, you did say let them know how we do it! got me craving for crab butter. 🤣
@@bigzfishing4469 lol yee, crab paste and everything good content keep it coming brotha
@@hus8575 will do thanks bro 😎
Thanks dude, I just reel tight and yank and always come up empty. You explained it so well, caught wait to get out there and do what you showed me. The more crab paste the more delicious 😋
Your welcome bro I’m happy that you got some solid information, good luck out there!
Buy yourself a couple “breakaway style casting cannon”. Cheaper on eBay. Cast farther and save yourself the trouble of injuring your finger👍🏽
Do u recommend if u move to the left then move to the right if it’s not tight leave it for another 5 min ?
Yeah leave for another 5 mins but still check in between mins because what people don’t know is that some crabs will come and go in 10 sec. that’s why it’s best to know if you have a crab then to be second guessing.
#nowadergang I'll mostly show up without waders unless it's really f'n cold. I notice other crabbers judging me when I don't have waders on though, lol.
Well They won’t be judging when you be pulling in crabs more then them 🤣. You got this! #nowadergang 💯 Show them wussup bro haha.
Waders are over rated. Save yourself the expense. If you think about it, a wetsuit (what surfers & scuba divers use) works fine for cold temp water. They are same material, neoprene as some waders (the other material is nylon). Btw, you can find used wet suits at Goodwill, Out of the Closet, etc.
@@360revolucion8 I highly recommend the same thing! A wet suit is the best way to go when it comes to being safe! My first time using waders I almost drowned so I do not recommend using waders at the surf, it shouldn’t be for the surf in the first place.
Yeah it’s honestly not that cold without waders. I show up at 5am and it’s still not too bad.
@@fvr12345 don’t get me wrong, it is cold but That’s why I check the weather before I go. honestly, it’s more active when the sun is out anyways.
👍 nice job
Pescando California 503 USA pesca USA thanks bro
Take me crabbing please
Good advice. Where do you get your snares?
Gus’discount fishing tackle 3710 balboa st
Fishery’s supply located in San Jose CA,
Thanks for the advice. What is a good swell to crab in?
The best time to go is during slack and outgoing tide to the lowest of the low on a warm sunny day.
@@bigzfishing4469 thanks!
which side of the beach were you on? closer to the zoo side? or closer to cliff house?
I was all over the place there’s no secret spot it’s the ocean if there’s crabs there’s crabs if there’s non then there’s non, I was next to the public restroom.
@@bigzfishing4469 yeah cool I was just asking because I didn’t recognize that area. Thanks for the vid and tips!
@@antdev8428 yeah no problem bro anytime, good luck out there and Happy Chinese New Years!
Did you go during high or low tides? Does it matter?
Please share the recipe I want to recreate it🦀👩🏻🍳 looks so delicious 🤤 thanks
We cooked this at my buddies house and honestly I wasn’t paying attention with the ingredients 😭 I’ll ask for the recipe tho and get back too you as soon as possible.
You need crab paste 1 jar for each crab, chicken powdered broth, sugar, garlic. Everything is season to taste.
Is that spot before the zoo or after coming from lake merced side?
is this Thai style cooking? looks so good
Yeah haha a lil mixture of Cambodian and Thai. Thanks
great video! thanks for sharing :-)
Good job bud.
Low tide or high tide?
Low tide brothah
If I can't cast that far any advice? (Probably can't do snaring :( )
You can still cast close. Like I said, crabs are everywhere even from shore. If you can’t cast far then follow my technique, wait for the waves to go out before speed walking forward and cast over the waves.
Can I crab at the area in front of the parking lot ?
👍👍😁
How long take u catch all them?thanks
I want some Cha Kdam. Lol
🤣 go out there bro it’s easy to catch!
Se necesita licencias especias para el cangrejo. Cuantos piedes tener
What’s that recipe? Look delicious!
What oz weight snare ?
4oz it really doesn’t matter what size weight you use what matters is that you go on the right day and time to go, Check out my recent uploads for best time and day to go.
Did u ever lost any snares?
Yes I’ve lost so many snares over the years of learning like how can you not loose one 🤣
What’s the limit in San Francisco?
The daily bag limit is 10 crab, and the minimum size limit is 5¾ inches.
@@bigzfishing4469 okay 👌 cool yea is the same here in Ventura CA i though there was different law for fishing 🎣 I know is California too hahaha is just I wanted to know because I’ll go one day to fishing there well thanks for answering take care 👍👍👍
Do you need a salt water fishing license?
You just need a fishing license here in CA,
Nice job. Good eating. Respect to you for throwing back the females.
Thanks bro.
🤣😂👍😉🦀
Is there a particular area to park and walk to the beach?
Yeah
@@bigzfishing4469 gee thanks ..lol ..ill figure it out i guess
Make sure you get there early for parking, it’s usually pack during the weekends.
@@bigzfishing4469 was first there ..lol ..530am...4 guys came right next to me and set up ..and they kept coming ..definitely not coming back on a weekend ..rude lol
Lol Same happened to me, it’s like a huge beach i don’t understand some people that’s why I always go during the weekdays but be aware of parking tickets! They tend to give people parking tickets on the weekdays more if you are parked wrong.
how to read the tides?
watch for the patterns of wave breaking visible from the shore. If you see waves coming in from the left and right or if your snare is moving too fast to the left or right then your surf crabbing at a rip current. Try to find waves that comes in straight back and forth.
Dude, your reel is over heating, need to cool it down!
Thanks for the advice I’ll be sure to slow it down or grease it up more.
@@bigzfishing4469 can yo sent me link to snare, i live in florida, wana try crabbing one these day.
@@homedaily6570 I make my own snares Now, you can go to your local tackle shop they have it I honestly think that Any snares work.
Rip crab
Baker beach or end trail from beach end
Will try this is Ireland for huge Spider and big brown crad
Fatso is hecka funny!
Lol he said he can feel them on lmao you tube dudes crack me up
I crack myself up sometimes too man lol instead of 2nd guessing myself or waiting 5 to 15 mins I usually wait 1 to 2 mins now because you can literally feel them on your snare, that 4 oz drag felt like a 20 oz drag when I tug and that’s how I know when to swing away.
