I agree with JQ, about a lot of it. When you used to read the magazines, you would get a better sense of the event going on. Info about the drivers and their race programs as well as extra media. I get a tad tired having to follow 10+ pages to get a sense of what is going on and how people are feeling about it.

I agree with JQ on this one, the speed comes from the driver being happy with their car. The Sworkz brand has so many drivers and what seems like a lot of team support. I’d like to see more manufacturers team support for the bigger races to show backing for their PRO class drivers. And with TLR what could they possibly be working with Horizon to improve the platform. I see Fewer and Fewer TLR 1/8th scale drivers in the lower classes. I hope that TLR continues to succeed. But we always want more.

The underlying point here is facebook is no longer a good median for information, after 24h things are lost in feeds. A good rc website dedicated to covering event news is more important then ever.

The streams are good. Especially from you guys because you don’t typically just stay on the leader. At SIC i had a good bit of camera time, and I go back and watch it from time to time!

But JQ, you did not re-badge or re-sold an old car, you built your own - twice! And I am very glad you did, you are an amazing example. But, people want to do their own thing that is just how it goes man. I do agree though, for ME, I would not do anything that I do not believe it is a breakthrough, or it's better or different or both, and not obviously worst, than what everyone else has done a million times. I don't need the exercise.

JQ is 100% bang on here. It’s very cool as an individual to be able to see you as an amateur on RUclips later and hear Scotty call you out, but it makes it impossible to enjoy the pro racing. This is an issue in all of R/C. I tried to watch the rc chili bowl and had the same issue

Epic rant lads. Some good points and counter-points from both sides. JQ's point at the end is pretty bang on though, I watched a lot of the DNC coverage, and while it was cool to have Charlie and Scotty bouncing off each other, the calling was terrible. They had no clue who the hell they were following or commenting on half the time, and when they did, there was no insight as to what actually happened or why, it was very basic at best.
They should be able to do a lot better.

The promotors need to make a much more structured schedule for the weekends, separating the pros from the start of the weekend. That will allow EVERYONE figure out where and what they want to put more focus on, from the media to a family member sitting at home.

  • @flaviorodrigues9168

for that info that JQ was talking... you have to be there in the pits... and ask what are the things that the Pro is changing on the car and using... and put that infor when anuncing, when that racer is on his race... like a diferente compound is working for him or not and that kind of stuff... tink that is the way to go but its hard and takes tons of time...

Things won't change until the race promoters can separate the pros from the amateurs and still make money. DNC had 757 entries... will all of those racers still show up if their events aren't mixed in with the pros? That's the question. Can the two be separated?

Yeah Nitro is the glory!! for example here in Germany you have 51 Race entries
      8 in Nitro Buggy OR8
      42 in E Buggy ORE8
      1 in Truggy ORT
but yeah it is the glory to seeing 7 Nitro Cars starts the Race because 1 have technically issues, 2 get a Flame Out during the race, and in the end you have 5 finished Cars 20 Laps apart from each other because of the skill level
WTF who cares the other 42 drivers..when you have these epic Nitro Races
      Ironie off
Truggy is dead in this country😢

How i see it races should use quali (streamed ofc) to sort out A and B main drivers in every class and the finals for A and B should be scedueld to a serten time where its a breake in the oter classes time on the track and A-B runn like its own race in the race and that way streamers can get out the content most whant to look at like A and B at that time slott.
And for the rest that whant to look a 9 hours of the lower classes kan look at the whole stream from start to finnish.

JQ is convinced that watching "children's sports" (e.g. soccer) is lame, and that people should want to watch RC racing (specifically 1/8 nitro offroad buggy racing) because it is difficult to do. But people tend to watch things that look spectacular, or that relate in some way to something they have done themselves so they can identify with what's happening.
Most people have kicked a soccer ball and can appreciate how difficult it is to do the things that someone like Lionel Messi does. RC racing does *not* look spectacular, it is scaled down so it looks puny. And almost nobody has run a 1/8 nitro offroad buggy, let alone on a racing circuit, so when they see what Ryan Maifield does with a 1/8 nitro offroad buggy on a racing circuit they do not appreciate how special it is. So you can improve the production of the DNC video stream all you want, and you will still not have something that appeals to a big audience.
To greatly increase the appeal you must greatly increase the number of racers, which is unlikely for 1/8 nitro offroad buggy racing because of the amount of effort and expense required. It would be better to start by promoting a form of RC racing that does not involve so much wrenching for each minute spent on track. For instance, box-stock Slashes racing on hobby shop parking lots with portable jumps.

  • @davidsandate1522
    @davidsandate1522 7 месяцев назад +1

You keep preaching to the rc racer that gets upset that a paint job cost 65 or more for a multicolor paint job. Get your sponsors from real companies that can tax write off, like WD-40, or Liquid Wrench and commercial them on your site. RC man's just dumps trickles of dollars or credits. I'm sure a Home Depot cleaning agent is as good as Simple Green, so you get dollars from the HD or Lowes. The other things is that we need to be nascar's that they easily budget. So JQ can get sponsored by John Deere tractors and he can floss his green. And Max can be sponsored by Frog Sunscreen 1000 on theirs cars.
