Will Cady of Source Audio tours through the sounds of the Soundblox Pro Bass Envelope Filter, the highly anticipated upgrade to the original BEF.
The BEF Pro boasts a wide variety of new sounds perhaps most notably, dubstep wobble bass and overtone sequencer sounds.
Users of Soundblox bass pedals include Mike Gordon of Phish, Victor Wooten of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith, Duff McKagan of Guns 'n Roses and Velvet Revolver, Bill Preston Esquire of The Wyld Stallyns and many, many more.
I love these bass pedals. I have the multiwave distrotion, and now I NEED to get this one too. Source Audio Rocks! Best bass effects hands down. Super tasty effects, not too over powering, the pedals always do a great job at retaining the raw sound of the bass, and the demos are super well done, especially this one.
This guy's demo on the 2 Dimension Reverb made me buy it lol... Now he's going to get me to buy this pedal too. Your demos are always the best.
@sourceaudioeffects First: I LOVE the fact that yall actually take the time to explain about the pedal and how to get different sounds out of it. Most other companies just give you an instruction book at most... Second: You are an amazing bassist with tons of talent, if i get half as good as you are ill be so damn happy. And Third: Your excellent explanations and great videos have TOTALLY just sold me on your product... P.S. cool shirt :)
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS DEMONSTRATION THANK YOU GUYS.
AHHH! I gotta get this pedal to compliment my near future multiwave distortion pro too! That tune at the end was wicked!
i cant get past the barefeet and the pegan rosary on the headstock. I'm out.
shaboda1973 Me too. I'm out.
Lol!
@monster6607 hmm that's an interesting suggestion! We have a few things in the works already so that will probably not happen for a while
Fantastic !
Guys make sure you're using a TRS cable for your expression pedals.
@hoothandolf any standard exp. pedal works just fine. The only thing to be sure of is that it has a large range.
sick pedal. super sick t-shirt! WYLD STALLYNS 4 LIFE!!!
@LightMeteora nope, that's a matter of preference. Obviously we enjoy the multiwave!
essentially yes! Extra Presets plus Graphic EQ and MIDI control.
love the song @ the end !
AMAZING PEDAL... GREAT JOB..
sick demo ! really amazing !
but i think i may look into getting this device. ive a few ideas that will make the other low enders envious which is part of what working musicians do. thanx guys
So good. So soooo good
is it possible to get these sounds just by using this this single pedal n connecting this soundblox directly to the amp?
LFO Is definitely the best, Low Frequency Oscillator, ROCKS
just got it yesterday for my bday... fukin love it
@BaconLetticeTomatoe you can absolutely save the wave forms!
@nibel13 amazing!!! Keep on playing!
this pedal doesn't come with the Hot Hand but it is designed to work with it.
the last composition could easily become the theme song for some fancy game ;)
i hope i one day can have this kind of creativity and skills as you do, especially that slap skill of yours, i love slap, can practicly practise it yet due to lack of knowledge of it ;
comments are half the fun! Let us know if you have any trouble dialing in the right tones.
WILL rules!!
Does anyone know how to connect the expression pedal to the envelope filter??? I have a moog Ep-3 expression pedal and when I plug it in, nothing happens.
song is wicked!
thank you!
I have set up the multiwave distortion pro & BEF pro with the exact settings in the video, but I'm not getting anywhere near the sounds you are, especially on the phaser effect at 6:15.. Using a nice bass & amp, not sure what I'm doing wrong. Appreciate the demos, frustrated I can't replicate the sounds I bought this gear for.
Ive to date got the Pro Bass Distortion and the non pro Bass Envelope pedal (and now i'll be forced into buying this by my love for Source Audio)...I was just wondering if you could save different wave settings in different presets, l like triangle wave in preset one, sawtooth wave in preset 2? Because I've just written a bass line that would benefit with being able to switch wave settings quickly? Peace! Keep it up!
Any chance you will come out with a pedal board for the filter and multiwave for ease of travel and just keeping things together and organized?
Wyld! Stallyns!
Not sure if anyone from Source Audio still checks any of these, but 2 questions... How do you assign exp pedal to modulation, and how do you save your signal programs on here? Its so frustraiting, I figure out a cool sound then anytime I hit the foot pedal it randomly changes everything.. Very frustraiting.
I Already have the multi wave distortion pedal, and am waiting for my BEF to arrive, but it's not the pro edition, i have my hot hand, will not having the pro affect me being able to play organic bass wobbles? Also love the equipment!
WYLD STALLYNS RULE!!!!
sorry if i sound stupid. i'm looking to get a hot hands for my bass, want to start playing some dubstep. now my question isn't so much which pedal is better as much as will the hot hands wah work for the wobbles i want? i want to eventually upgrade to this pedal, just wondering if it would get me by.
do a lot of "prepared bass" stuff? i'm not going to knock the spiritual/meditative deal with the beads.. i wonder though if thats how you hide your secret "preparations".. like the scrunchies etc.
crazy! i want it so bad. iwant it now! lol.
nicest demo Ive ever seen. great job.
does this petal come with the thing that goes on your finger for dustup? and can some explain this to me i don't understand this hahaha. i just think its cool
does the pro have all the effects that the regular envelope filter had just with more options? im really getting into slap and chili peppers type stuff and wanted to try these effects out
@sourceaudioeffects It used to be weird to me until I moved to Hawaii... nearly no one wears close-toed shoes here :)
u earned a sub.. ur awesome man
Do you HAVE to mix it with the source audio distortion to get the dubstep sound? please answer.
Great Video for the Great Product!
Could you please tell me
What Expression Pedal did you use in the video?
It's look really compact.
what's the exact difference between this and the guitar version? many guitarists prefer the ehx bass microsynth for example so i'm wondering this or polymod for guitar...
I also have a question regarding the LFO.
Is it possible, to set the tempo with tap tempo first and then modulate between subdivisions with a expression pedal?
So i have a fixed basic tempo and with the expression pedal I can choose between 8th notes, 8th triplet notes, 16th notes etc.
Can't find anything on the net.
T
now do you buy this effect and a pedal separate or do they come together? or what
The speed knob at 5:38 is wrong - it should be at the opposite position
Is that a Fodera Guitar, or a lookalike?
@Celebby9 too odd?
will any expression pedal work, like a moog one? or do i need the m audio one?
man you wernt lieing...BUT UR GREAT DUDE!!!U NEED TO BE OUT THER MAN!!!SIRIOSLY BRO!!
I don't know how much this video cost you guys, but it definitely just made a sale.
You need to use both pedals at the same time in order to get the sounds he's demonstrating with.
The BEF is still doing most of the work though. The Multiwave is more just texture in this demonstration, and there are any number of less expensive distortions or fuzzes that can fill the role if the budget is tight.
Throat Yogurt Well, the Bass Multi-Wave Distortion is listed in a couple these segments, and, it's really not like any other distortion pedal, hence, assisting in the sound this BEF Pro Envelope Filter with some of these patterns in this demo. Go check out the demo of the Bass Multiwave here on RUclips on SAE's channel. These are both cool pedals, but, you have really listen and watch.
Lonnie D. Hillyer I have the condensed and upgraded version of the multiwave shown here, and to be truthful, if you're only going to get one of them, get the multiwave. It's just far more practical, and the dubstep sounds you can get with the hot hand are a lot cleaner and less cartoonish
Great effect. Hesitating between this one and Pigtronix Envelope Phaser
Also, put some fucking socks!
Hello there, havo anyone try this pedal with voice or brass? as a saxophone player i would like to know how it works with instruments besides bass... the pedal is insane btw! thanks
yep! Fodera :-)
what kind of progression are you playing at 5:10 ?
Intrigued, but is this this pedal up to the rigors of regular gigging?
Been on my board for a few years now and going strong still. I play pretty much twice a week including outdoors in the summer.
you get that whaa whaa whaa whaa whaa sound that dubstep kids love, ha! Loving the versatility although dubstep kids probably don't care for real bass players
Where can I get the Hot Hand?
yeah
I'm all ears if anyone has suggestions or simple ideas to mount this to a board aside from removing the feet and using velcro.
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO ASSSIGN THE EXPRESSION PEDAL TO MODULATION?!
yes I can't figure this out either. HELP
I can't figure how to assign the expression pedal to anything arrrrr
Put Shoes on !!!......my god your toes scared the crap out of me !...
hey.. I have Hot Hand 3, soundblox pro bass envelope filter, and bass big muff... my hot hand is getting connected to the reciever but it is not giving the woobles... will you pl. help me out ?
Source Audio will help you if you email them. You are in test mode most likely. You need to go to mode select, (hold down the calibrate button till it enters mode select. smooth and depth knobs change colors) green light on mode, and then move the smooth knob to the left fast blinking means test mode, slow blinking is regular. cycle power or exit the mode select, reconnect hot hand and wobble on.
I have the same problem.... My hot hand used to work at the beginning. but suddently not anymore. All LED signals are working and everything is connected normally.
@sourceaudioeffects Im bare foot 24/7 for 21 years now ;) I even play bass with my feet
(Born armless)
Oh, also! I frucking love your pedals and I might have to buy a wah! :O
-Drake*
@sourceaudioeffects Probably hurts your feet when 'stomping'....
so you even type with your feet? Cool.
Duuuuuuude! SHOES!!!!!
great video! btw, what kind of bass is that?
Fodera!
Put some shoes on.
Well, now, what's wrong with bare feet?
mata?
And now!!....the lil’ ol’ 🎛Source Audio C4 Synth CAN DO all this here!! 👍🏾🤨✨🎛🎸🥰Good Luck in trying to get one of these now huh!‼️🙄🤭🤔In the REAL world,..and in a gig or Band situation,..just how much use would one actually get out of a pedal like this⁉️😳
Shit I just bought this pedal are you saying I could have got the c4 instead of buying this. This is like rocket science to me lmao
Foot funk, no extra charge
what is all that garbage on the headstock?
we have a where to buy page on our website sourceaudio(dot)net
@zachb1997 necklaces from my past
Hah I kno bro! Thanks alot :P
Ima trying (half ass'edly) but still Haha!
You can share mah shi on faceböck an such ;)
This should be enough to turn anybody into a foot fetishist.
Video directed by Quintin Tarantino
All the way wet.
Feet?! Why?! Lol
I went to this video to see how the unit sounds and was shocked to see bare feet. In my country, Rhode Island, showing the feet uncovered is an offense against Allah and brings shame upon one's family. Hence I cannot buy this product.
You can call me Al lala! Give him a barefoot kick in the butt
Creepy
Wow, just bought the hot hand for this thing and it randomly quit recieving the signal after about 5 mins. What a piece of fucking trash. Would not buy from this company again.
you charge it 1st? Hot Hand needs to charge for a hour and 1/2 before 1st use. It'd explain the prob you had.
most bass players, and i know a few, wouldnt come near such a thing they being purists like me
